Went here last Friday with a friend of mine. We decided it was a good place to catch the Knick and Yankee games and get some decent food. The Knicks lost and the Yankees got rained out...i guess that leaves the decent food...strike 3 'Right off the bat' the waitress was a pain in the ass. She did this thing where she says "can i get you a drink?" but then continues to rattle off every drink they sell. I wanted to just cut her off and be like "STFU! i'll take a diet coke". I could have over looked this if this was the only time she did it. But she did the same thing with the appetizers, sides, desserts... It was exhausting waiting for her to finish her rehersed script each time. On to the food. And really there is not much to say here besides, sub-par. it was greasy, sloppy, and unappetizing quite frankly. I've been to other Applebees many times and have no complaints. Maybe it was just this location? i left feeling glutinous and semi-sick. Dont get me wrong, i had a the cowboy burger which isnt known for its health benefits, but this one was extra gross. Trust me. After we ate we went back to my place to hang out for a little. After about 30 minutes of suspect smells and stomach grumblings we both agreed... Just walked in on a Saturday afternoon. Not too busy at all. Had to wait to be seated. Waited at our table for 5-10 minutes for someone to come and serve us. No one. A family came in after us. Got seated right away by I believe the manager and served drinks right away. Still no one even to say someone would be with us in a few. We got up and left. The one thing I will give Applebee's credit for is consistency. They are always average. But that's ok, because they are something I can rely on. Unlike other people in my life, they don't try and be what they are not. They proudly serve average chain restaurant cuisine. With that said, I find their lunch menu very affordable. For about $10 I can get a soup and sandwich. I know that I can make my own much better, but that is sometimes not an option. I'm on the run quite a bit and this location is convenient. For what it's worth I will admit the restaurant is clean and seems to be up to code. Dinner 2 for 20 is some grand marketing scheme I tell you. Two of what is truly the riddle. One would think that you get an appetizer and an entree. The problem is that you have to share the appetizer and that causes problems when your friend doesn't like the same food as you. For what it's worth, it seems like the younger generation loves this restaurant and it seems to be a safe hangout for them. I never detect any criminal activity. The parking lot is safe, to the best of my knowledge and there have not been any major issues. For a local hunger fix, Applebee's delivers, and my nephew likes the food so I may as well get used to it. read more

Applebees offers a poor selection of entrees. One would expect at least one entree to be free of dead animals, but no, they do not. Not a single vegetarian option. Not one! Not even a veggie burger. Come on... I am not saying they must have a vast choice of vegetarian selections, but at least have ONE! After my food was served, I had to ask for silverware because I had none. Shouldn't the server take note of such things and supply a fork and napkin? A friend I was with was unable to be served any of his selections for whatever reasons, he had to make second choices for entree and his dessert. When he did get his dessert, it was rather small for the price he was being charged for it. In fact, much of the prices seem inflated to what you actually get. I opted just for coffee which was served COLD. Food was mediocre. Not terrible, but nothing to rave about. Ugh! We didn't expect much from Applebee's to begin with, but this was the worst visit we've ever had. We got about 20 green bean fries for 7 bucks, the waiter up-sold my boyfriend on the ribs, which had almost zero meat on them for $15 (also came with a handful of fries and forgotten cole slaw). My appetizer side salad was brought out when I was halfway through with my entree, while my water sat empty with sad, melted ice for most of the meal. The 2 stars are for the fact that the exterior of the building looks nice, is kept neat and the interior feels fun and friendly. So that's where the happy and positive review end. Pretty cool host, he was really friendly and talkative. Our waitress was so sweet and very efficient. The wait was long but understandable because HALF OFF APPS. I think they forgot about us because the host took our number and said he would call or text for when they were ready but never did so we had to go back in on our own. 8/10 would go again. read more

Horrible. Sub-standard location (the one near the Walt Whitman Mall is so much better). Whenever I order a "chicken" thing it's always been microwaved to hardness and feels tumor-like. Add a cup of something that seems like an amalgamation of water/grease/fake-butter and some over cooked broccoli. Portions are smaller that an average frozen dinner from the supermarket. Salad bar ALMOST saves this anti-matter meal --- but those ham chunks in the pasta salad will be coming back up in the emergency room floor in a few hours. Where should I start? We walk in and it is completely empty on a Saturday night. There was no music at all. I could hear the woman across the restaurant chewing. Ferris Bueller was playing on the TVs. ALL THE TVS! Not any sports game nothing. The food was tragic and tasted like dirty socks. last weekend, my husband along with our friends came for a late night bite. Waitress took FOREVER to bring our drinks--husband's beer was skunky in a soapy glass....our loaded nachos iced cold and limp. Friend's chicken and fries soggy and cold. I dislike Applebee's in general, and my visit to this location did not change my opinion. Expensive considering the quality and portion sizes and service is never particularly fast. Stick to sitting at the bar and take advantage of drink specials; otherwise Chili's in Bethpage provides a much better and cheaper casual dining experience. read more

Ok its Applebees... As busy as it was, I only waited 15 minutes to be seated. The table was clean and our waitress was pleasant. Our appetizers came within a reasonable time. However....my bacon cheeseburger came with no bacon....no big deal....but my daughters steak was over cooked.....they took it away and served her dinner cooked as ordered. It was a shame too because my past experiences here weren't bad at all. Applebees isn't a four star restaurant by any means. So I gave them 3 stars. First impressions- you see the bar as soon as you walk in. It looks larger and cleaner than most Applebees bars. So far, so good. I should mention that I went on a Sunday at 12:30 so it was pretty slow. The waitress Kym was very friendly. I usually get the same thing almost every time I go to Applebees because I enjoy it so much- the A1 Peppercorn burger. It was great as usual. Service was good. I should have read the reviews before coming here. Where should I begin? Rude wait service by Patrick. Girls at the front were rude! Bathroom is disgusting, soap dispenser taken apart and thrown to the side. Paper towel dispenser doesn't work, dirty tissues on the floor. Health department needs to get involved! My husband and I came for a quick dinner - it's just ok. I can't see myself coming back. We used to come for the 1/2 price apps during happy hour or late night... but for dinner, I was pretty unimpressed. The nachos were a big sloppy too-much-cheese blob of salt. The tortilla soup had absolutely NO broth in it, gloppy and was way too salty too. My husband's steak was not too bad, but kind of tough to cut, and chew. Let's cut to the chase. Went in at 10:15 pm. 3 adults. Place is full of college kids for half price apps. Waitress is pissed off because college kids sit all night for a few dollars and tip nothing. Matter of fact all wait staff have mad faces. Nobody smiles. Guess what? I'm not a kid, I eat and leave, and I tip on what the bill would have been had the apps not been half price. Was here for dinner not too long ago! They have great deals for sangria on Wednesdays, $9 for a pitcher it was kinda watery but I guess it's expected if it's that cheap. Terrible customer service. We start with 2 appetizers. A chili bowl and the pretzel sticks with dip. The chili came after 20 minutes. And after 1 hr my pretzels with dip still wasn't out. While the group after us was already on there entrees. We end up leaving because it is ridiculous to wait 1 hr for a pretzel sticks and dip. It really bothers me that my neighborhood Applebee's isn't better. We were greater by a gentleman full of energy and my wife and I thought nice! A fun place to grab a quick bite to eat! I think Applebee's a usually great for your money! BUT the service here was HORRIBLE. My coworkers and I came here for lunch. It was practically empty and we placed our order with emphases that we had only an hour for lunch. We were not served our drinks until 30 minutes in and our food never came. We spoke to our waiter 3x and got the same "it's coming.. Don't worry." Additionally we spoke to the manager who assured us that our food was on its way. I love but also hate to write this review. I hate to write about this one because it's the first time I saw dead fly in my drink (water) in any restaurant...... HOWEVER, I love to write because (1) I'm putting the 1st review! and (2) this is the first American restaurant I went to. This Applebee's has lots of pictures, trophies and clothes from Bethpage High School, which I went to between 1999 and 2000. Restaurant wasn't really very clean... the food was NOT tasty at all. I ordered the meatballs that were supposed to be full of provolone cheese - barely looked like there was any cheese inside at all. The center of the meatball was lukewarm. The meat was WAAAAY too spicy, the breadstick was hard as a rock and the pasta was overcooked. My son and husband both had the runs all day after eating there.
