I and my coworkers and friends frequent this Applebee's (where else u gonna go in Hobbs). Though we've had a few less than great visits we generally have a good time, enjoy the food and the service has been remarkable as of late. This is my favorite place for a perfect margarita and usually the food is good. However, today i had an unwanted visitor on my chicken fajita plate. If I could give a half star I would. This is the worst Applebee's ever. If I were the CEO I would either shut it down or fire the entire worthless staff. The place was DEAD and the waitresses just let people coming in the door stand there for minutes on end while they played gossip queen behind the bar. The food was terrible and all I had was a salad. How the hell do you mess up a salad?! I had the Asian chicken salad and there were more noodles and nuts than lettuce. It's the birthday place in Hobbs, I guess. Because every half hour, I would hear the staff singing the birthday song. I guess it's a good place to grab some alcohol, especially there's not a lot of nice bars in Hobbs. My dad and my boyfriend got beers, and I had a chocolate mudslide. The mudslide is good, but I think I'm gonna have a heart attack from it. It's a good place to watch sports while drinking since they have TV all over the place showing sports. The service is just okay. The food is just okay. I guess I'll come back here again because there's not a lot of decent places to eat out in Hobbs. read more

Sometimes you just want to walk out. My step-daughter generously paid the ticket but it was a shame. She wasted her hard earned money on cold food that took over 2 hrs. to be served. It's clear that if you're looking for any vegan options that aren't 1 of the few salads offered this isn't the place to spend your money. Don't bother asking for information about vegan options because vegans, might as well be aliens. According to the menu you can substitute a veggie patty on any burger, I can not say this is true. The burger I ordered came without any of the specialty ingredients, as advertised in the menu. The patty was a slightly crispy outside, tasteless, mushy textured veggie patty as most all of them are. The staff was really friendly though and our waitress was stellar at timely refills and accommodating us. I really hope they update with the times and add the Impossible Burger to their menu, all of my meat eaters love it just as much as my vegans. I'm not vegan myself but do opt for vegan when I can. read more

Food is about like any other Applebees but as far as service and the waitstaff. Def a I don't usually complain but this was ridiculous, I love karaoke as much as everyone else. They setup everything directly behind me (speakers ect.) no big deal. But when they started there was no warning, or heads up whatso ever, Again not a big deal. When everything started the speaker was blaring in my ear, pointed directly at my head so I turned it (away from my head literally 2 inches) again I love the idea, love karaoke so there was no rude or disrespectful actions made by me. Right after I did that the lady running the karaoke event turned the speaker back rudely said don't touch my shit and glared at me as she returned to the front of the bar. I asked the waitstaff what I could do and she said nothing laughed with the karaoke host and explained how they could do nothing. I don't review very often but when it comes to customer satisfaction, as a salesman, I believe something should have and could have been done to resolve this issue. Followed a couple into Applebee's in Hobbs, they were seated immediately . The hostess told us give her a minute , we she come back she said their was only one waiter and wound have to wait! They were 4 tables with people at them and maybe 6 at bar we asked if we could eat at bar and was told no waiter!!! Do I asked do we need to leave and go somewhere else? "If you want too!" This was likely the worst experience I have had at a "sit-down" restaurant. We waited 1:30 for food. We didn't get our appetizer until we got our food. Four out of six of us had completely cold food. Our waitress blamed the kitchen for not bringing our food out. Only after pointing all of this out several times were we able to get a $20 off of a $60 ticket. This place gives the entire chain a black eye and I'm not sure I'll ever go back to Applebee's. read more

My husband and I enjoy applebee's more than any other place in Hobbs, NM. It really depends on who you get as a server. We have had 2 good experiences out of 5 total. Most of the time the servers dont realize you are even there. Once took 45 minutes to and hour to get our drinks... Then the server denied us extra sauce or cheese on anything even though we would pay extra. The food is decent though. read more

Very very disappointing I went with my best friend and her little sister. This rating is good for what I would call a real piece of work I actually worked at an Applebee's this restaurant is not following the protocol required. Actual I would rate this restaurant at an even zero. Walked in the door place was clean but host was texting on her phone and failed to greet me. This is required by the company since I was a host I should know. Second server was excellent but did not present our menus properly this is not as bad so I could easily overlook this simple mistake. So to start we got mozzarella sticks fairly simple and yet so yummy. My friend ordered the boneless chicken basket the small size, her sister ordered a salad which was more massive then I remember when I worked at my location, and I ordered the parmesan steak with shrimp with fresh vegetables and mashed potatoes. Other entree at my table came before mine and when my meal came out I wanted to break a streak of horrible chefs that can't cook a steak well now I am 7 consecutives chefs in a row with horrible steak. I ordered medium a little bit of pink this thing was dancing on my plate. I sent it back. Now it comes out medium well. I sent it back a 2nd time again it came out rare and they charged me for an extra steak. I complained to the manager and his dumbfound response was " I heard you had a problem" Yeah well obviously I sent my steak back at least twice and now you are going to charge me for it when I have witnesses that I ordered medium. " well let me see what I can do" he was a coward and never returned to see if I was satisfied disappointing this manager sent out the waiter which I gave her a tip because this was a lack of consideration in the kitchen and fail at management. I was a restaurant supervisor I loved how if I faid to do this I would have a long chat with my upper level managers. Guest pay your damn salary appreciate them or find a new job. read more

The worst experience at an Applebee's. If you are ordering to go make sure to double check your order. The gave us the wrong order, which didn't get noticed until we were back at our room. They had charged us for what we had originally ordered. Went back to get what they should have given us the first time. No compensation was offered for the travel time and inconvenience. Applebee's is about average. There is a wait most weekends and sometimes it can be a long time. The food and service is not consistent. They seem to have a big turn over with staff and every time I go in I have someone in training or just out of training. They often seem overwhelmed. The food is okay most the time but varies greatly. I don't think they do a lot of the cooking in house and things come partially premade. They seem to run out of things a lot as well. On weekend nights, I have seen people get really intoxicated so I go early. read more

Hostess was ok so was waiter. Food however really bad. My husband's chicken was cold and the rice undercooked. He returned it and ordered the oriental salad the same as me. Waited another 15 minutes for that. We've had that salad in many other Applebee's restaurants. These were skimpy, with hardly any lettuce. It seemed they gave us a 2 day old salad bag. Then the waiter made a mistake with our bill so we had to wait for that to be corrected. A short lunch turned into a long one. The manager never came to offer compensation for my husbands wait only apologized for the food being cold so we didn't even bother to complain about the salad. Worst Applebee's ever! My husband and I went there during our lunch break to enjoy a nice 2 for $20 meal, but were not able to. We were seated by the hostess in the bar area and waited for about 5 minutes. After the 5 minutes, 2 girls with a toddler came in and were seated at a booth adjacent to our table. The server happily approached their booth and commented to the hostess that it was her sister. She took their drink order and chatted with them for a bit. We just looked on... After serving their beers and taking their meal order, another 8 minutes passed and still not even an "I'll be right with you" for us. By now, the hostess sat another person at a booth in the same area. After about 2 minutes, the same server approached the new guest and took her drink order. We sat there for 15 minutes, even asked the hostess to let our server know we were still waiting to place our order and still not even eye contact by the server. The manager looked on from the other side of the bar and never approached us either. Apparently we are invisible when we walk into the Hobbs, NM Applebee's. Needless to say after waiting 15 minutes we walked out even hungrier and extremely upset. The worst part is that the restaurant was not even busy. On the other hand, if we had managed to put in an order, we probably wouldn't have gotten the correct order as it is customary there... read more
