Everything was terrible. I had such high hopes. Jumbo Parmesan garlic wings were all breading and fat. My fiancé that eats anything goes McDonald is better. He got a bacon burger and it tasted nothing like a burger and texture was way off. Service we had to both walk up to the bar once each. I kept trying to have high hopes but worst food I ever eaten. Okay, so I'm rating Holidaze on the scale which Hobbs is based... if you're from there or have lived there for more than 6 months, then you understand why I say this. Service can be mixed here. Because we were semi regulars, we always got decent service, but at times they can be super slow. Cocktails are usually served strong. Most of their beer selections are on tap with only a few offered in a bottle. I was stoked to learn that they had Fat Tire. Their prices are somewhat reasonable. The jukebox seems to have the same music it did when I went to high school with only a few additions every now and then. The change machine is usually out of order, so just sweet talk your waitress (usually a waitress, not waiter) for change. The hot water in the women's restroom (and so my husband said in the men's restroom too) really does mean HOT... like if-you're-buzzed-and-forget-to-give-it-some-cold-water-you'll-burn-your-hand hot. I like the low lighting here. The food is usually pretty good, but I tended to stick to just a handful of dishes: 1) super salad with chicken teriyaki with ranch dressing, 2) patty melt with no bacon & fries, or 3) chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and cream gravy, mac and cheese, and ranch dressing on my salad. They use the "homemade style" Ranch dressing, by the way. This is about the only good place in Hobbs to play pool, but some nights we didn't always get a pool table because some people are pool whores. If you keep a tab, beware that they may ask to hold a credit card until you pay your ticket. I think they do this mainly to keep schmucks from walking out without paying, of course. So based on what I've read on yelp I have chosen to sit at the bar. So far so good the beer is ice cold. The owner is on my left so I told the bartender to surprise me for dinner. Let's see what we get......Well friends we got the blackened chicken sandwich with some fries and some onion rings. The food overall was pretty okay although the mushrooms were a little salty for my taste. However, I'm not a real fan of salt. Chicken was tender and just to the point of being done for maximum tenderness and moisture retention. I wish someone in town would make their own pickles. That would be awesome. My rating of 4 stars is based solely on my first visit. I will be back to see what is in store for me next time. My server Becky says that if you show up early evening they run a 2 dollar canned beer special till gone. ( so you know). read more

We ordered for delivery. First they packaged the salads in with the hot meal. The salad cheese was melted onto the salad which was then warm and wilted. Then they gave the wrong side with one of the meals. She I called the one I talked with said I could come pick up the right side, when I said I couldn't, I was at work, she said "Well I will tell the kitchen to be more careful". That's it. Paid over $50 for a meal and it was not good. Do not recommend this place based on their service. Other than the salad and lack of the person making things right, the food was at best average, but certainly not worth the price. read more

This is a fun place with good food. We had salads and soup of the day, which was a delicious green chile stew. Salad was also excellent and the service was top notch. We saw some pretty good looking dishes go to other tables, too. My only complaint was the pinball machine took my money and I could not get anyone to help me with that. read more

The food is not bad...service is SLOW. Biggest issue...cleanliness/repair, and the hours (they close VERY early, and are not open on Sundays). They are fairly run-down, and many areas are noticeably dirty/greasy/grimy. It could use a good facelift and an extensive scrubbing. read more

I give holidaze 3.5 stars, service and food was great, I had the top sirloin steak, it was good, it also came with a salad, an entire loaf of bread and 2 sides! Not bad for $27! The reason why I rated it a 3.5 is because the place looks a little run down, and the employees are wearing slacks, this is not an elegant restaurant, so why have your employees dressed like that? They should dress more casual, just jeans and a holidaze t shirt. The place just needs a little bit of elbow grease, new floors, and a new paint job read more

I seriously do not get why the people in this town like this place. Seriously!!!! Maybe they like the billiards here and the jukebox. But the food and customer service sucks balls!!! We had a burger and a sandwich, and it took forever to get to us. Waiting is tolerable if the food is great, but it wasn't. It was horrible. I would rather go to a McDonalds. The waiter is pathetic as well. He should be glad I'm nice because I still convinced my boyfriend to give him a 15% trip, instead of a 5% one. Horrible!!! read more

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE customer service!!!! My boyfriend and wanted to try this place because it seemed like fun. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was dead. You'd assume you would have fast service because the place is empty. I was totally wrong! When we walked in we weren't greeted nor seated. We picked a table and we sat there for 10 minutes, no joke. Not ONE fucking person came up to us, oh but they were looking at us. We only sat there for so long to see if someone would approached us. Need less to say we never got a menu and left. I was skeptical based on the reviews but I was actually impressed with everything about Holidaze... The Ruben was awesome! Everything came out hot and fresh. Service was "ok"... My husband & I went here tonight. We were pleasantly surprised with the coldest beer that tasted delicious. The beers on tap are a huge selection & variety. Looking at the menu I was surprised by all the choices. We had fried zucchini as an appetizer with the most delicious homemade ranch dressing. We then had a special of Cajun grilled shrimp tacos that were by far the best I've ever eaten. The guy beside me had the brisket & said it was wonderful also. Some friends had a chef salad that looked so fresh (I'm a very picky lettuce person) & his wife had the hamburger steak (chopped steak) that she said was yummy!!!! I would give this a one star on food alone, but our server was nice. We stopped here based on other Yelp reviews, but I have to wonder about them. More impressive inside then the outdoor facade would suggest. Good menu with plenty of options , and an impressive variety of beers on tap. Prices for food is pricey, $11 sandwiches and hamburgers. Dinner options are far pricier. Service has always been slow, which seems to be a common complaint on this forum. I have frequented Holidaze for about a year. They make amazing nachos and have a nice beer selection. They will make your burger to order (med rare!), and the fried stuff is good. They even have oysters on the half shell. It's a pretty versatile place for Hobbs and is a good part of town. I certainly recommend it, go there! read more

Great coconut shrimp and fried mushrooms. There streak and shrimp was not very good though but the appetizers more than made up for it.

Expensive for the mediocre food you get. The place is tacky like an old dinner but the waiters are dressed in shirt and tie.

We recently tried this place and have been there twice already. Food is good and service is good. We have not been during a rush yet so maybe that's why. The waitresses have been friendly and have done a great job. I have tried the chicken fried steak and the chicken tenders. My husband has tried the Cajun chicken sandwich and I forgot the other one but both were very good. They cook the chicken perfect, never dry. Good place. read more

Beers are awesome , Id recommend the blue moon draft . The serving staff needs some training on etiquette , she was nice but we had a strange experience . The waitress had failed to ask how I would like my patty melt prepared that I ordered . When the cook asked her instead of coming back to the table and asking me she assumed it would be medium . She said that is because how she liked hers prepared . I though to ask her if she be assuming my position later on in the night as I was condemned to the commode for explosive diarrhea or as the locals would say chorro . I simply asked her to please take it back and make it well done . The second thing I have never seen before is she picked up the check as soon as I authorized it with the tip . I think she was eager to see the tip I left . Other than a weird untrained server it's a cool place . Fried Zuchini is pretty tasty . read more

Atmosphere, decoration and service was good. The food however was just plain sad (plus way over priced). My husband ordered a steak and it had no flavor what so ever. Our best guess was that they used liquid smoke. A1 couldn't even help that poor cow. The Cajun shrimp appetizer had flavor but way too much of it. After the first couple pieces you begin to notice that the "seasoning" was literally dripping off the shrimp and also dipping through the plastic wrapping onto the table (which was already sticky enough). I ordered the chicken fried steak and all I could taste was gravy. Once I actually got under the gravy, it was bland and tasteless. They even messed up the mac and cheese. How is that even possible? Both of our meals came with a salad and that didn't even taste good. The lettuce was brown and the baby tomatoes were squishy. The best thing on the table was the butter for the "complimentary" bread. Overall, we will not be going back to Holidaze. Maybe if they get a new cook and menu. read more
