The issue with Applebee's is a corporate mess. You cannot go online and see a normal restaurant menu with prices. You have to "order", select type of order, and then they have everything chunked into blocks so you could have had dinner elsewhere by the time you click on each type of meal and part of meal. No one wants to click and click and click. A total FAIL on website design. And when you call Applebee's "customer service," they say, we hear you loud and clear and thank you for your input. When we arrived, we were sat by the hostess. When the waitress came over to our table, she states this is not my station, but I guess I can take care of you. I told her that we were sat here by the hostess, and she's like well I don't know why because there is no one working this table. Once she noticed that I was a little irritated, she tried to be nice, but it was too late. I ordered the new chicken Parmesan on the menu and it came out very dry and crusty. When the waitress came back, she says that does look dry. Would you like for me to get you some more sauce? She then said if you would like I could get the manager to come over and see if we can give you a discount. The manager came out with a cup of sauce and asked me would that be OK? I told her no. She then asked if I would like for her to have the kitchen remake it. I said no I would rather you just take it off the check. With attitude, she snatched the plate up from the table and walked away without saying anything. She really needs a reality check. I noticed this Applebees did not have many stars. However, we went inside and had lunch anyway. The waitress was absolutely sweet as can be. My mother got the extreme bacon burger and I got the Swiss mushroom burger. They were both cooked exactly the way we wanted it and tasted amazing. I asked for them to double cook the french fries cause I like them extra crispy and they were also the portions were huge, so neither of us could finish it. it wasn't very crowded but everybody that was there seem to be having fun sitting by the bar. It was just a very nice day. If I ever end up on that side of town again, I would absolutely go again. Our waitress was great but the food sucks. I asked for a medium well steak which was still bleeding when it got to the table and the fried shrimp were still white on some sides. The broccoli and mashed potatoes were cold. My daughter's steak was also bleeding and should have been medium well and as for my niece's steak, she basically said she couldn't swallow it and spit most of it back into her plate after she tried to chew it. I am not one to complain but patrons should get what they paid for and we still paid for our $91 meal and left the waitress a tip. I decided to give Applebee's Grill + Bar another shot . I ordered my usual Shrimp and Parmesan Sirloin . I once again explain I want it well done no pink . There's an add shrimp for a $1 so I tell her to add it the same as it comes. She brings out the plates and I tell her this isn't what I ordered. An as I'm talking I " try " to cut the steak. I said " you can't even cut this " and she agreed with me . You mean to tell me you know it's inedible yet serve it to me anyway. Service was fine. Like the 2.99 margarita all day. The Chicken Won Ton Tacos we're crispy but I remember in the past there being more filling inside. Same thing with the Oriental Chicken Wrap. Not much to it for the price. It used to be my favorite wrap on the menu. Bavarian pretzels were good. Soft. Beer cheese. I'd say that the chain if definitely cutting back on everything but price. I went to the Applebee's in Inverness today, April 14, 2022 about 5pm. The hostess sat me immediately. The waitress came over about 5 minutes later and I ordered a drink from the bar. After she brought me my drink, I ordered. In the meantime, she never came back and brought me napkins, etc and never asked how everything was. Later a cook brought my meal which was ok! I would not order again . The waitress NEVER CAME BACK TO ME!!! I had to ask the cook that after I got his attention to please order me another drink. The waitress finally came over and brought me my drink. I asked for the bill. I left her a $2 tip! I am a good tipper, however with such service as this I could not justify leaving her a tip when she never even asked me my meal was! I will not be returning. Filthy tables inside and outside. Inside smelled like urine, outside like an ashtray. Walked out after first being seated for inside seating, then asked for outside and just had to leave. Tables were not wiped off. The patio floor was mildew and had food stuck on it. Too dirty for me in this pandemic. Just all around not very good :( staff doesn't seem trained properly even tho they are nice. Stood for quite a while waiting to be seated even tho several people saw us standing there. No line.. just no one wanted to be the one to seat us, I guess. We ended up just seating ourselves and then flagged a waitress. Waitress got my order wrong and food was not very good. Would just get drive thru burgers and save your money if I were you. They do have some fun drinks, if youre into sugary drinks (which I was lol). But would deff pass on this location. My boyfriend and I were at this Applebees last night. I wasn't particularly impress with the hostess and the 2 girls at the rrone with her. We had to ask to be seated. We got an eyeroll from her. So sorry to give a poor review. I worked in the restaurant industry so I understand the challenges of running a good restaurant. The coffee we ordered was cold. Took 30 minutes to get a hot cup of coffee. Our French fries were cold and soft. They brought out a fresh batch in 15 minutes. The booth had burnt out light bulbs. The cover over the bulbs was dusty and had some small dead bugs on the cover. We might have caught the restaurant at a shift change but this was not a good experience for us. read more

The only place for a group that large was a very uncomfortable roundish table with bench seats so we had to shimmy all the way around the seat to get to the back - not an easy task. I had a hamburger. It was dry and tasteless. The lettuce was an outer leaf that I would have thrown away - didn't even eat it. My husband's quesadilla was over priced with very little filling.
