Came here with two friends at lunch time and it was fairly busy. Our waitress, Kayla, approached in a few minutes and took our drink orders, and when delivered, asked if we were ready to place our food orders. We were and off she went to give the kitchen instructions. As I said, it was fairly busy, and it seemed to take an inordinate amount of time to deliver a bowl of chili, chicken tenders and a sandwich, which was not too hot, although it should have been. The waitress forgot to bring my mayonnaise for fry dipping as asked for when I ordered the sandwich and she finally came by to ask if all was good, when we were about finished. 55 minutes for a lunch seemed a bit long, so beware if your timing is tight. We had a mix of items and overall enjoyed our meal. The kids' chicken tenders and fries were good, and the shrimp tacos were tasty as well. The fish tacos were ok and could have used a sauce to bring everything together. The mac and cheese wasn't a hit even with our child. The fries served with the tacos were cold, so I think they would have been much better if they had been served hot. Hot honey shrimp tacos were good. Good food. Poor service. No more "they just opened" excuses. Our wait for drink options was long. Our wait for tea and water was long. The tea that arrived was the wrong kind. My salad had no dressing. Sat outside. Busy lunch. Server was pretty much MIA during our meal. No check ins. I really expected better from an FMK-run establishment. No problem with the menu, service or atmosphere. I love the GOAT burger. The first two time were perfect. I ordered one a month ago and it was a tiny little, dried up hockey puck. I told the bartender. She offered a replacement. I declined, told her I didn't want to talk to the manager. I just wanted her to let the kitchen know. Today, I ordered it medium with tots. The burger was well-done. The bun was squished and cracked. The hot honey covered about a quarter-sized spot. And, the tots were cold. It's an $18 hamburger! I think the cooks press on the meat so hard while it's cooking that it loses all juice and flavor. So disappointing. I'm so tired of paying for overpriced mediocre food. Do better. read more

A typical "The Villages" sports bar/restaurant. Lots of TVs scattered about so you will find your event to view. It has a large outdoor bar/seating area and a spacious indoor dining area. Nearby parking during peak hours could be problematic. The service was quick and efficient. It has a typical sports bar menu (nachos, smash burgers, fish n chips, flat breads) at reasonable prices. The management responded to my first poor experience kindly and gave me a gift card for a return visit. Sadly, my return visit with a friend was no better. The food was again below average and overpriced, and the outdoor area was overrun by a very obnoxious drunk group at the bar who were blasting music from their golf cart parked on the street. One of the bar fly guys kept stopping one song to start a new one the entire time we were eating. It was so loud we couldn't even carry on a conversation. I love a lively group, but the management failed big time to get it under control when asked. They said they could do nothing about it. Not even keep the peace in their own restaurant! The staff was really on top of their game....and I say that in fascination, as were informed the restaurant just opened up for the first time, the previous Wednesday. (They didn't even have their official grand opening yet) I ordered a strip steak (11 oz) with mashed potatoes and broccolli. ($30) Side salad was another $6 and a draft of domestic beer $4.50. WOW! First visit here... friendly but truly defensive employees - including the manager. Made a comment about how long food was taking and bartender said "what's your hurry" and not in a funny way. Maybe he meant it funny but when a smash burger and a medium rare burger take almost 50 mins - it's not so funny. Made a comment to the manager about time and no apology just defensive. Note the pic of smash burger - all bread! Where's the rest of the meat?? The smash burger with two types of cheese and grilled onions had NO FLAVOR. How does that happen?? First time diners and I was excited for some good eats, but unfortunately we were disappointed. The apps were room temp and soggy, as were all our sides as well. The entrees (shrimp quesadilla and blackened haddock sandwich) were decent, nothing spectacular but at least they were warm. The poor server spilt beer on my husband and she never recovered from that. The restaurant has a good vibe for a bar and the drink selection is good. They hustle but still have time to be personal and professional. Having a meal and drinks at the bar in that environment is a great feeling and we thought we'd take time out to mention them.
