So this Applebee's location was very sub-par. I don't know who decided servers at a restaurant should dress so skimpy, it's not Hooters. It took about 3 minutes for our server Kim to come to our table and another 3 minutes for our non-alcoholic drinks. It wasn't even busy for a Saturday, no wait so no excuse for slow service. Food as always was pretty good although our appetizer (spinach art dip) didn't come with the salsa as it is supposed to, we had to ask for it. Our drinks were empty for a bit as well and we had to ask for refills, not a crime but if it's not busy they should never get empty. Next we asked for the hockey game to be put on the tv, which is was until the table behind us came in and asked for the baseball game, we asked for it to be changed back to the game and while Kim tried her best to get the tv changed it was not. The entire time we were sat in the restaurant the manager walked around but never greeted us, or asked how anything was or apologized for the tv not being changed back to the game. Met a friend from Tampa here because it's close to half way and just off the highway. We both got burgers which were super yummy! They were kinda stingy with the fries, but what do I expect for under $10. The rest of the menu didn't really grab me, but the burger and service were both good so I may go back. read more

I hate to give low ratings, but we just left this restaurant after waiting 25 minutes for our lunch. They advertise a 15 minute lunch guarantee so we decided to give it a try. There were 2 of us and we both ordered soup and salad from the lunch menu. Out server took out order at 12:53. Our food arrived at 1:18 - well over the 15 minutes. When we asked about the 15 minute guarantee we were told that only applies to a specific menu. Why weren't we offered this secret menu when we were seated? Additionally - over 20 minutes to receive soup and salad is crazy - and they weren't packed with customers. The food was very good - the Thai shrimp salad and steak black bean soup are both delicious. The service was just very lacking. read more

This place has gone downhill in recent years. Management used to come check on you, food used to be great and service used to be friendly. Sadly, I can't say this about my recent visit. Seems the economy has hit my favorite chain (even though the place was packed) which was apparent in how they skimped on the food. (Brisket nachos might as well have been tortilla chips with a few chunks of meat and little cheese but plenty of lettuce. The appetizer shrimp was not coated all the way and was something to be desired. The beer cheese and pretzels would have been great had there been more than two sticks. The server seemed irate. This was the worst restaurant I have ever been to. The waiter was really, really bad. After we were seated he dropped 4 napkins, knives, and forks at the end of our table and walked away. There were 4 of us.. will say A, B, C and D. When he took our order A and B ordered a shrimp dish. I ordered the 3 cheese penne with chicken, and D ordered chicken fingers and a beer. Beer was 2 for 1 so the waiter brought him 2. By the time he got to the second one, it was warm...he never asked for 2! Then when the dinner came he said to D grab a plate its gonna fall! When he gave A and B their dinner it was chicken and not shrimp. B was too embarrassed to say anything, but I said A ordered the shrimp and when he checked he said he hit the wrong keys. Then he ordered the shrimp and told her to take the chicken home. B said his meal was also cold, but refused to complain. My 3 cheese penne was awful! The chicken had a weird flavor, and the sauce tasted like a very salty parmesan sauce and it was dry. Couldn't really eat it. I would NEVER eat here again! read more

Good food, sorta what you would expect from Applebee's but not the best service. For starters, the parking situation in this location isn't the best. It took me a couple tries to find a spot. I walked in to the restaurant to meet my parent's and my stepdad's parents for dinner. The specials at Applebee's are good (2 for 1 what up!!) but our experience with our server wasn't the best. My first complaint is that they would't allow us to split our drinks. So it was two for us but they brought both to the table at the same time, which is kinda bad when you're drinking white wine or beer. The waitress refused to bring them back later on. For my appetizer, I ordered the spinach artichoke dip. The dip was good. The chips, however, were so broken. It legit seemed as if they got the bottom of the bag and gave me all the broken chips. Not ideal at all. The saving grace of the meal was the burger I got. It was cooked perfectly and the fries were good. The waitress, however, was lost when I asked her for the burger to be served on the ciabatta bread. She didn't know what that was. You'd expect your server to know the items on the menu but that wasn't really the case on my visit. Like I said in the beginning if the review, good food, but poor execution. Just had a late night dinner at this restaurant which was terrible. First the place wasn't busy got seated right away. Then it starts. Our waitress walks by and says "be a minute" several minutes later she comes back to take our drink order, again it's not busy. We get our drinks and place our order. Sometime passes and we get our salads, afterwards we get our meals. Wife ordered her 6oz steak medium rare mine 8 oz steak medium. Her steak and my steak came out medium well. No waitress came around for several minutes to complain to. Finally our waitress, we tell her about my wife's steak" i could eat mine although it was wrong" only thing she could do was cook another one. So waitress leaves we run out of drinks, no waitress we had to get a bartender to get refills. Several minutes go by, lm done eating we're just sitting there waiting for wife's steak. Finally waitress brings her steak we got tiered of waiting so we asked to box it up that we will take it home. Waitress was told this a couple of times before she left with the steak. A few minutes go by we are wondering what is taking so long. A manager comes to the table, not sure where she is from, but couldn't understand a word she was saying. We tell her we are still waiting on the steak to get boxed up and we want our bill. Several more minutes go by before the waitress brings the food and the bill. Manager took off $8. , waitress didn't get a tip, a tip was given to the female bartender that took the time to refill our drinks again the place wasn't busy. We counted 6 other customers and several waitresses. We use to like this place read more

I ordered CHICKEN and it came RAW! Awful DO NOT GO! My brother ordered burger which came all pink in the middle! Service was slow too! The only redemption was that the manager was great about it, he gave us a full refund and brought me a new meal from anything off the menu. we ordered an app. which was delivered about 30 seconds before the entree. Literally. sent the entree back, 9 oz. steak ordered medium rare plus a chicken entree. 5 minutes later they brought back the microwaved same plates, steak now about well done and veggies ok. Manager said she could adjust the check. Could, not I am going to adjust the check when we said it was really badly done by the kitchen. Don't just microwave your mistakes, fix them. Should know better than to order real food and not a burger, they can do that, at least I think so. dog was happy with the steak, been years since we were there, will be many more until we are there again. factory food but a nice waitress, not her fault. read more

We encountered the rudest server and bartender ever at this Applebees. They were curt and short with us. At one point the bartender slammed the glass down so hard in front of us we thought it was going to break. Everytime they had to give us anyting they just slammed it down without a word. And they obviously never learned common courtesies such as saying thank you. I will never return to this restaurant and frankly question any chain that allows this behavior and keeps people on that act like this. They were like the mean girl bullies in school. New to the area because we just bought a house in Auburndale so this location was open till 2am. We were seated promptly. Our waitress Crystal R. Was quick with our orders and so amazingly polite but here is where the 2 stars come in the steak my mother ordered was so tough! She wasn't able to chew it... Crystal came over and asked how everything was, my mother politely expressed how tough the meat was but didn't want to get it remade. Crystal insisted she did and it was no problem.... so she sent it back and she said the Manager would bring it out. Thr Manager was a RUDE ASS. He placed it down.. no introduction... stood there and told her to try it if its what she want. It was the SAME CRAP... over cooked and tough but she smiled and said its still tough but its okay don't worry about it.. he shrugged and said ok sure.. and walked away. Crystal came back over and asked again how we are and we told her what happen.. wanted the check. She said she would take it off the bill we said no don't worry about it we Will pay. .. she took it off anyway. She went out of her way to please us and her service alone was great. I placed an order for carry-out. I got the Salmon and mom got the Mac & Cheese with Honey Pepper Chicken Tenders. We've both ordered these items from a different Applebee's and loved it. It was a Friday evening so it was busy. Our food was ready and waiting the moment I showed up but since I didn't prepay by credit card for the food I had to wait for someone to take my money. A server told me she would be right with me. I stood in the corner of the restaurant, in everyone's way, waiting... and waiting. Servers kept saying "excuse me" and asking if I'd been helped. I explained I just wanted to pay for my food and go, I didn't even need change. 17 more minutes went by and FINALLY the waitress took my money. My food was cold but I was so hungry I still took it. When I finally got to eat the food was poorly seasoned and bland. I will never go back. Restaurants should never make customers wait a LONG time just to take their money. read more

If this had been my first visit probably would never go back much less purchase a gift card. We usually eat at the Lady Lake/Villages site where we had very good meals. My sirloin steak was so tough you couldn't cut it. The broccoli was not cooked enough. The baked potato and onion rings were fine. Katrina, the waitress was helpful and very pleasant. Our server never smiled and was only at our table maybe 4 times. My wife's food wasn't even cooked. My food was over done and my sons grilled cheese took 25 min. It was to dark my liking. Just very sad to see how far DOWNHILL this company has gone. I work for one in Michigan 13 years ago for 3 years. The food is usually pretty good, sadly most of the time the service sucks there. I've had two or three waiters who I only seen maybe twice.

Early evening we went to this Applebee,s and the whole left side of the inside was closed off with all of the booths and tables vacant. There was four high top tables vacant in the bar. We ask the hostess about being seated at one of those tables and she said they were for other guests that were waiting. There was us (two) and one other couple waiting. The other couple was called and seated at one of the bar tables. We were called and seated way in the back of the right side. I watched the tables and one table was never used while we were there and one had a single (one) young lady seated there and another seated four, all way after we were seated. We ordered water along with other drinks and never received it and ordered green beans and received French fries. We left after eating believing we were intentionally lied to by the hostess and and and was not listened to while ordering. I think corporate needs to realize things like this is why their business is getting worse. read more

First, let me say that our server Emily was great. However, their bartender needs to find a different career. My husband ordered 2-4-1 Long Island Ice Teas. When they came out we could clearly see that they were made differently. One was close to perfect. The other had way too much sour. I asked our server to take it back. The bartender grumpily brought out the new drink which was darker than the one we sent back (less sour, more soda). The Manager brought out a new round. Those still were not good but I was done complaining. Of course, nothing was comped on our bill. They just took off the first round that he didn't drink. We talked to the table next to us and their 2-4-1 drinks were like that too. Their food came out cold and all they were comped was a soda. The table behind them ordered their food before us and got it as we were leaving. They had a different server but in my days of bring a server I can say that this is usually a kitchen issue and not the server. My meal wasn't great but my husband said the only good thing about the whole meal was that his burger was awesome. read more
