Food is always wrong, under/over cooked, service is terrible. We've made comments to the manager before about the way the food came out and his reply was "well I didn't make it". We've given This place multiple chances. Don't think we will be back any time soon! read more

Upon arriving we waited 10 min for someone to notice us. Then my companion ordered a cocktail which was very watered down and tasted awful. Our server was very short with us and had a lack of knowledge of the menu. The food was so-so and the atmosphere wasn't great. My rating, 4 out of 10. read more

Went there last Thursday after a school program. My family and his girlfriends' family went together. There were 6 of us in the party. The place wasn't too busy. But apparently busy enough that we waited a good bit (about 15 minutes) for the staff to ponder about where to sit us. One waitress wanted all of us to sit at a table for 4. Stopped in for a quick lunch. Had bourbon street shrimp and chicken. Food was ok but service was subpar. We had to ask for silverware as none was on the table by the time our entrees arrived. Didn't bring one of my sides with the meal. I had to ask for it and it never made it to the table by the time we finished our meals. Despite requesting drink refills we did not get till our meals were done. There is a reason I refer to this place as "Crapplebees". read more

Love going for the half priced apps. The food is always delicious and decent serving size. The staff is friendly as well.

Again we had a disappointing experience. My husband loves the double crunch shrimp and for the second time they were fried beyond recognition. I have always found them to be consistently good but twice now. Guess we will move on. read more

We used to enjoy it then the young server refused to serve me (60 yrs old) w/o my license. OK, he's just doing what he's been told so I asked for the Mgr. Amazingly enough he refused me too. Unbelievable! I know what they're doing and understand you don't want to lose your liquor license but a mgr not stepping up to diffuse this is pitiful. He said his GM required it! I need to say this. I really enjoyed my visit here. I come maybe three or seven times a year and get a different experience each time. This last time was very good. There have been a number of changes to the menu. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger on the 3- course meals. I was hesitant because normally the burgers here are either undercooked or extremely dry. This time, however, it was very juicy. I really enjoyed it. Remind me if an original Red Robin burger. I can't say enough about it. I asked the server if they changed their burger recipes and he said that Rob always does it this way. Way to go Rob. I will order your burgers anytime. Good job applebee's. read more

I can never understand that for most of the time we have to wait to be seated although it is obvious there are many tables available. The servings are small and the service isn't always the best. We have had for the most part great servers. We will still visit once in awhile. read more

I always went to Applebee's went my husband asked "where do you want to eat" and when my co-workers said "choose a place for lunch" Well NOT any more for two reasons. First off I was in a hurry and I placed a to go order, I was there 5 minutes early and finally after waiting at curb side for 15 more minutes I went inside and there was no one at the take out desk. I stopped a nice little waitress and she said she would get the girl that was working the To Go Section. A few minutes later this girl came over to the counter and said "What's your name? I gave her my name and she came back with my meal. I informed her that my meal was probably cold and 20 minutes late, she was very rude and stated "I can't help that I'm busy" then she pushed the bag towards me on the counter and walked away. I was fuming mad. Since I was already running late and half my lunch was gone I decided to call the Manager and he apologized and said he would take care of it, he then offered me a gift card and asked for my mailing address which I gave to him, he stated" he was putting it in the mail today" well that was over a week ago and guess what? YUP no gift card. Guess if the Manager doesn't follow through with his word how can we expect the employees to do their job correctly. No more Applebee's at LaVale MD for me. Sandy Y. read more

This is the worst Applebee's ever. Not once but the last 3 times we have been there, we have received poor service, and had issues with our food. We are people that like to give second chances so we went back but yet again had a bad experience. So we were never going back but today it was so crowded at all the comperable restaurants that we had to go there or go home so we did and the server let us sit 20 minutes after getting our drink order...with NO DRINKS so we left. Third strike and you're out Applebees. We are done, not going back you all suck read more

I am not a big fan on chain restaurants but I have been to this Applebee's several times and the atmosphere is usually jovial. The beer selection at all Applebee's is basic but what can you expect from a chain restaurant that is primarily focused on food. Overall, this Applebee's is a decent one. read more

This was my first visit to Applebee's and honestly, I only went there because I had a gift voucher. When my boyfriend (Bf) and I walked in, there was no one in the front area to seat us so after waiting and being ignored, we decided to seat ourselves at a little table in the bar area. I agree with the other reviews that service is very slow. It was our date night, so we had the time and we made the best of it. We ordered A LOT of food (because I wanted to use the entire balance on the gift voucher). I'm vegetarian so there was not much for me to eat there except appetizers and drinks. My bf ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries. One star because the food and drinks were delicious so I will give them credit where that is deserved. Trouble really started when we needed more napkins, my bf tried to get the bartenders attention, but he was too busy chatting with the few remaining people sitting at the bar, so we finally flagged down the waitress to please bring us more and she did. I also asked her for some 'to go' boxes so I could pack some of the appetizers that were crowding our tiny table. Once I packed them up, I moved the appetizer dishes to the bar so we could continue to eat our food with some space. Almost immediately, the bartender came back with the dirty dishes, pushed my 'to go' bags to the side and placed the dirty dishes back on our table without a word. I was shocked. Was there a reason he could not take them to the kitchen? The bar was empty of people at that time. I found this to be incredibly rude as we already were tight with space. I asked to see the manager. As we were waiting and discussing how weird that was, the bartender again came back to the table and got in my bf's face and it was quite scary how threatening he was being (like he was ready to fist fight us). He then runs to the back area where the manager was standing, and I assume tells his version of events. Next the manager shows up and before I can say a word, the manager firmly says, "no dishes are allowed on the bar." I found this odd since people eat their meals on it. I also explained that I feared for our safety after the bartender's aggressive behavior toward us. Again, I am brushed off with the manager saying "nah, he wouldn't hurt a fly." The manager continues to chat us up for 15 minutes (discussing his childhood and misc. other nonrelated things) standing between me and my bf so neither of us could finish our meals. It was very strange. It made me wonder if they were related because this creepy manager never listened to anything I said and ignored our concerns. Finally, an employee says the manager is needed at another table (some other complaint, I'm sure) and he leaves (thank God) but at that point, our food is cold, and my bf and I were so freaked out by everything that we paid the remaining bill and left. As I was leaving, I kept looking over my shoulder because I was afraid that this bartender (or even the manager) was going to tackle us or was outside slashing my tires. Anyway, I won't be going back. There seems to be a few people working there with mental issues and that manager needs a lesson in customer service. read more

Menu is lacking. The only steak they have is sirloin. So I order the 12 oz and they are out of them. Only have the 6 or 8oz. The food offered is basically bar food, which is fine for a bar. But it wasn't the food that bothered us. It was a guy (maybe head waiter) who sat across from us and counted up the receipts and was doing Applebee business. We were the only people on that side of the bar... er, I mean restaurant. Then the non-busy waitresses came over to flirt with him. NOISY AND OBNOXIOUS! I will never go back there again! read more

Fryers have to be kept separate. This is the standard in most restaurants around the nation! Many of us in Western Maryland have seafood allergies ect. Keep fryers for seafood and fries ect. separate! read more
