Stopped in for another lunch during work and we were sat right away. I will say our service this time was much better than my last visit a couple months ago. Our waitress was very attentive and we didn't wait as long for our food this time - maybe 20 minutes or so. Ordered another buffalo chicken wrap and it was very good! Generally slow service. The wings are decent. Your typical sandwiches, wraps, and fries come out warm at best; most of the time food is simply not hot. Very lukewarm. The bourbon glaze used on the bourbon glazed chicken and salmon is fantastic. Maybe the best I've ever had. I'd like to rate this place higher because I've eaten here many times and it has strong potential but the chronic wait for food and the inconsistency on getting food while it's hot lends itself to only a 3/5. My sister-in-law Mallory and I had a great time in Somerset, PA on a spontaneous Ski Trip to Hidden Valley Resort last weekend and TAILGATEZ was an awesome spot to stumble into for dinner and a drink - lots of space, great staff and plenty of televisions if you're trying to catch a game We ordered a Quesadilla (with Chicken) and both agreed that it was in our top 5 favorite of all time. Something about the way they marinated the chicken, it was absolutely delicious - couldn't stop eating. We split the Italian Hoagie that was on their menu too and that was great, very flavorful, plenty of food, but could have been one thin slice of meat meatier Zero complaints, all positive vibes. I was a bit skeptical about visiting this place. I always drove by it thinking that it is going to be your typical sports bar for the area. I am not a big sports bar fan, but out for a day with the family we decided to give it a shot. You definitely can't miss the building. Driving down the road you see a giant tailgate of a truck with their name on it. No denying that they were spot on with this façade. The inside was like I assumed, your typical sports bar for the area. Sports memorabilia hangs on the walls. Jerseys from Pittsburgh sports teams that are autographed hang on the wall and I believe local sports teams have a place here too. The only downside I had while here was the service. Our server was a bit flighty and kind of avoided us. She didn't have some answers and had to come back. It took a while to get our drinks and then refills after that. But like I said, this was the only downside. Once our food orders were in, we kind of let that slide. For the appetizer I went with pierogis. You get a half dozen of pierogi that are slathered in butter and sauteed onions. I do not know if they were premade off the shelf. If they are, then praise to them for doctoring them up. But they were great. Perfectly cooked, and that butter almost had them swimming, the onions were cooked to the point where they kind of just melded into the pierogi itself. For the main course I went with the Texas Burger. I waivered over the menu for a bit because a lot on the menu looks great. That just gives me a reason to come back. The Texas Burger comes with cheddar cheese, onion rings, bacon, and KC BBQ sauce drizzled over it. You can get the burger in a 1/2 lb. or 1/4 lb. This burger is big and definitely a belly bomb that will sit there for a hot minute once you are done. I also have to say that that BBQ sauce and onion rings (which are made in house) are amazing on the burger. I was a bit messy from eating this, but I didn't care because it was that good. This comes with a side of fries and a pickle spear. Fries were amazing and the pickle spear was a nice crisp refresher to the whole meal. I definitely left here with a full stomach and very satisfied. read more

So I was passing through and was so tired and hungry. Booked a hotel and this had somewhat good reviews . Called and called Couldn't get through so I decided to drive there and order and have a drink to wait for my food. Almost 100% sure they water down their vodka. Had to get a second shot just to taste alcohol. Take out burgers were ok nothing to write home about medium cooked must mean well done . I didn't expect a lot and that's what I got. We went on wing night, Tuesday if this week. Food was awesome. I had the garlic parm wings and the hubs had the spicy ranch both were done to perfect crispness. They have the absolutely best coleslaw I have ever had. Mile high nachos were yum! We had them with the pulled pork. Our waiter was awesome as usual. We will continue to keep this on our list of favorites. It is my preferred place for wings. Parking is plenty and the restaurant is always clean with friendly staff . This restaurant does everything right. From following Covid health and safety guidelines to the delicious food and drinks, this place knows what they're doing. My husband found this location after a Google search for cool places to eat in the Somerset area. We're both big sports fans, so this restaurant catered to our interests. We ordered the soft pretzels with beer cheese dip and chicken wings. The soft pretzels were warm and fresh, and the beer cheese dip was delicious! The chicken wings had a great, crispy outer skin and ample seasoning/sauces. We wish this restaurant was closer to where we live so we could visit more often. Stopped here recently on my way back from Pittsburgh to see the family at home. Or something like that. At any rate- Sunday night and they were open late. I know sunday is Sunday but blue laws aren't a thing anymore. Ordered some water and decided to add a Raspberry tea as well. Once I lost in a spelling bee in 3rd grade Bc I thought it was Rasberry. What a loser. Pierogi were something I had only heard of in Men in Black where the two aliens get popped by the Bug and end up dying face down in their pierogi so I had never tried. Started with them- just potato and cheese but these were good. Interested in other flavors in the future. For the main meal we decided to get something and then split and share between, and I went with the chicken Caesar wrap. They have three options for the wrap type (which is awesome) and I opted for the tomato kind (orange), as well as sweet potato fries The wrap was good, I happened to like the turkey one better, but the sweet potato fries came with apple butter- and to me that's worth five stars in itself. Most restaurants expect you to put ketchup on SWEET POTATO FRIES. What a shame, these were awesome. Stiff-armed the idea of dessert and moved on, very nice spot as I saw with a large bar and areas for watching games, as well as an outdoor type area. Service was good, would've liked to be checked on more- refilled more, etc. but the guy was nice and decided to try and break the ice by letting the air out of the room. Good match? I agree. Well, found a pretty cool spot. I always feel so cool when I say that, but really did i find it? No. It was literally the only place open on a Sunday night at 8. So, although it was appetizing, it was the only option. So thank you for being open. Upon arrival, I noticed how cold it was inside. I suffered through. Wish it would've been a little warmer. Or less blowing air. On to the waiter. He was nice..he thought I was the owner's daughter. I had to laugh. I guess its the shock of the height of my body that startles everyone? And BTW - no, I didn't pick him solely based on his looks. I could be blind and still love him. :) I ordered the Pierogis for an app and they were BANGIN'. I wish I had more now. My Turkey wrap on spinach wrap was pretty scrumptious but it turns out I liked the Caesar better. Thankfully we split. The cups were cool and the sweet potato fries were a nice touch. Sadly, we had to hurry and eat due to the chill and the time, but I know I will recommend this place to others, especially when we frequent this area headed to Somerset. :) read more

Great menu!!! Very impressed! First time eating here showed up Friday @ 5 pm parking lot looked filled but had extra spots in the back. Expected a wait but was sat right away. Service was excellent, and everything we ordered was good. I felt like I could of ordered several different items the menu had a lot of variety! Appetizer came out first, followed by our meals about 20 minutes later and all food was very good. Would recommend and return for sure. read more

The atmosphere of this place is good enough for a drink, but don't expect more than one if your server is who we had. Server forgot the blue cheese after reminder and never brought a drink refill after being asked, all with a "I hate my job" attitude. She did ask if we were together or separate without asking if we needed anything else. I guess we aren't having a beverage after dinner. Between us we placed 3 pricey wing orders, of which they had like 20 flavors, and the pretzels(good) with beer cheese(bad) that had the consistency of cheese cake. After tasting the wings it was clear that the reason they have 20 choices is because they were trying the odds of at least one tasting good. The wings were charcoal with dipping sauce. I like a crispy wing but these were chicken jerky. After gnawing on these if your jaw doesn't hurt or your mouth inside isn't all cut up then you are the wing whisperer. Tailgatez may be a great place to watch the game and have a drink, but you can get real chicken jerky elsewhere. read more

Not very impressed. Service was spotty and food wasn't very good. They tried to serve is our neighbors food until we noted that the chicken being served wasnot what we had ordered. Enjoyed a side of pierogies but the pizza was subpar as the cheese didn't cover half of either of the slices my friend shared with me. The pulled pork sandwich was dry and the bbq sauce did nothing to save it. The taste of the meat was just a little off- I am guessing they used a wood I am not used to. We've been here twice in the summer of 2016. It's a great, no frills sports bar with no shortage of TVs and memorabilia. The food is high end bar food. Everything fried is fabulous, including the pickles and the fries. The sandwiches are very generous and have been proclaimed so on both occasions by the men-folk. Show stealer: Char Grilled Steak Salad. Includes finger potatoes, a good cut of steak, fresh veggies and mixed greens. Two of us loved two slightly different versions. Best place in Somerset to catch a game, beer, and a bite! Our first time here last night! Good time! Totally packed on a Saturday evening with college basketball and nfl playoffs on with extra traffic I'm sure from the fire and ice festival in uptown somerset. Atmosphere: typical, newer sports bar vibe. Large bar area to the right - dining areas to the left. Can't wait to try the outdoor seating once weather permits. Only complaint - sitting at the bar by the door and kept getting a cold blast every time someone came or went - which was a lot - very busy. It would be nice if there were one of those motion heaters above the door or something or better yet - more of a proper lobby or waiting area - people were just kind of milling around in the open space between the bar, where there is also a servers station and 6 pack take out - would also help with the cold. Dinner: very good! Large menu consisting of what you'd expect from a sports bar - and then some! Buffalo chicken salad and chicken cheesesteak were great. One weird thing: the buffalo chicken salad comes with fingerling potatoes on it (see pic)? Never heard of that and seemed out of place...will ask for fries instead next time! Stopped in for lunch & Olympic hockey. Both were exceptional! There is not a really bad seat in the place to catch televised sporting events (I counted 15 flat screen televisions within eye shot of where I sat at the bar). I ordered a pizza to give myself the opportunity to provide a better unbiased review since I know what bad & good pizza tastes like! The order arrived quickly and was just right temperature wise. It was lunch hour so I was quite impressed by both of those facts! No frozen pizza here - this is fresh dough - great sauce & primo cheese - definitely NOT the usual tavern pizza around these parts! The bartender was quick on refills & while not the ace conversationalist - he was absolute in his service & attentive to everyone at the bar it seemed. The price was reasonable - menu was varied and a bonus of this place is that it appears it would be family friendly as well! There is also an area where - if ever these Laurel Highlands sees warm weather again - the outer wall consists of garage doors that open to allow an open air dining experience. The Good: The wings. The choices of sauces to pick from is impressive and their apple barbecue sauce is like dinner and dessert all in one; it's delisious. Also, their jalapeno cornbread is really yummy. The BAD: It's always filthy. Their tables are always sticky and covered in other people's crumbs. It makes me wander if they actually clean them between customers and it brings the ceanliness of the kitchen into question. Additionally, the bottom of their sandwiches are always so soggy they turn into mush when you pick them up.
