While Applebee's is usually a reliable choice, this visit was a disappointment for most of our group. To start, the salads were overwhelmingly made with bitter romaine and lacked enough iceberg, making them unappetizing for some of us. One guest didn't receive their appetizer until after their entrée arrived--which unfortunately had to be sent back because the steak was overcooked and tough. Another dish was missing the shrimp from the Bourbon Street Chicken & Shrimp, and a third guest's steak had to be remade after the server noticed the wrong cut was prepared. When it finally arrived, it was cooked medium rare rather than the requested medium well or well done. It definitely seemed like the kitchen was having a rough day, but the wait staff and manager did a great job trying to turn things around. They ended up taking $60 off our bills to help make up for the issues, which we appreciated. read more

If I could rate this place 0/5 stars I would. Decided to try Applebee's for a quick dinner. Despite not being busy, multiple tables were not cleared after customers had left. We were greeted by the hostess and seated quickly. I opened my menu and two pages were stuck together by a chunk of food. Our server brought a new menu, that menu had a sticky residue on the top corner of one of the pages. I guess that was an improvement since there was not a chunk of food, only the residue. We ordered an appetizer platter to enjoy before our entrees. When it arrived there was a hair in the quesadilla, that was unfortunately not seen before one person in our party took a bite. That was enough...after the dirty tables, crusty menus, and hairy quesadilla, we cancelled the rest of the order and left. The only positive note is that our server was polite and friendly. I went in Friday and Saturday night to watch basketball. I was in town for a funeral. I feel bad because I have forgotten both bar tenders names but they were both excellent. The food was very good, much better than my Applebees in Virginia. The restaurant was very clean including the bathrooms. I really like how the bar tenders asked everyone for their ID's and were very careful not to over serve. Again both ladies were great and if I ever have a reason to be back in that area I would stop in again. read more

As I arrived in town for a business trip, I noticed every place of dining was/were closing. In a spur of the moment, applebee's was our best option. Already guilty for wanting food so late at night. We were greeted with West Virginia hospitality. They comfort us with open arms and freedom to choose our seat. But all hell broke loose after that..... We entered curious and starving but left with disappointment and disgusted with what we encountered. Ordered from the 2/$28 portion. Received 2/$5 food quality. Chicken broccoli alfredo tasted like glue, microwaved pasta, and frozen chicken. Burger was just as it seem. ALL LETTUCE, 2 buns, and a slap of frail patty with a slice of cheese. Do not enter! I should not even give this restaurant one star it was so horrid. We arrived at a later time in the evening and it wasn't that busy but the bar server which was to be our server seemed to be distracted with many tasks as soon as we sat down. She kept saying she was sorry that she would be right with us. Probably 30 minutes later after she kept doing everything but attempting to take our order she asked what she could get us.. with much sarcasm. We ordered and our food arrived but we were not given any silverware. So we patiently without complaining, waited until she brought us silverware, which by the way she brought to us from the kitchen. By then after waiting so long to even be waited on and not complaining, then waiting on the silverware, which when I picked up mine there was food on it. It almost appeared like she went back to the kitchen and wiped off some dirty silverware and brought it out to us. I called her back over to let her know the silverware was dirty. No excuse for that whatsoever. She said she was sorry and I replied back she should be and she accused me of attacking her verbally. I feel I had a right to be offended about the dirty silverware. She went back to get more silverware and I decided I would ask for plastic to go silverware because it's wrapped and I knew it would be clean. She really became vile then and yelled at me that I could speak with the manager if I was not satisfied.I needed no manager just wanted to eat my meal as I was very hungry and we had been driving all day and had waited to eat at that Applebees since it was closer to home.This bartender/server had a male friend at the bar whom had already had quite a huge amount of beer and then he starts yelling at me too. With all the noise the manager came out and then he proceeded to bully and harrass me. I'm just setting there with my plastic fork trying to eat my yucky pasta they served me and he, the manager proceeded to stand in front of me and blantantly stare at me. Accusing me of attacking his server. I was so embarrassed and mortified. We have been in this Applebees many many times over the years and that's actually why we waited to eat our dinner so late because the servers are always so friendly to us and we have always had a nice dining experience. I have no clue how this meal tonight went so badly and the server and the manager acting so rudely and aggressively towards us because we were disgusted with their dirty silverware. I actually could not eat my meal because the manager would not stop bullying me and walk away from where he was standing in front of me. I actually was so scared I was shaking. I asked for a to go box for my food and my husband's because I couldn't eat with the manager terrifying me that way. We are elderly people both retired and over 65 years old. I still don't understand what was up with that aggressive behavior and attitude from that Applebees tonight. I will definitely be reporting this to their corporate office and I'm writing this review to warn other elderly or disabled people that they might want to pick a different place to eat if they find themselves planning to have dinner at that Applebees because the server/bartender was blatantly so rude and upset me so badly I will never return. I was so upset I still could not eat my meal after I brought it home. So sad when the customer is treated this way in a restaurant that is sadly lacking in ethics and customer respect. read more

I hate writing reviews so it doesn't affect the restaurant but in this case I am me and my friends was so extremely disappointed in the food we had and the service we experienced from our waiter are drinks stayed empty I tried and tried by lining them up for her to acknowledge then stacked them and still nothing Every time we had to ask for a refill and even that took for ever now I'd understand if it was busy but there was only a few people at the bar which was already a bartender there and maybe 3-4 other tables seated which was attended to by other waiters anyways so the time delay shouldn't have been so long now I am fortunate enough to say the place was clean at Least and even tho we did receive poor service we still tipped this place needs to retrain their staff and work on food quality read more

So much about reviews is timing. I just left a scathing review for a local higher end restaurant that I walked out of after an hour because they never got to delivering my salmon. So I figured let me try the local Applebee's. Service from Brandon (no jokes) was excellent. I had a great plate of salmon within 10-15 minutes of walking in. He was highly attentive and the price was reasonable. What surprised me was that the plate was modestly sized, which is a good thing. I usually expect to go into chain restaurants and get far too much food. A modest size plate for a decent price was exactly what I was looking for. Overall, I was very satisfied. Here in Lewisburg this is a booming place with lots of customers, hustling servers and a multi-armed bar crew. It sure depends on your location when you hit a Applebee's. In our southeastern home they are horrible, dirty, lacking in customer service and food quality. Not so in WV. Was staying overnight for a funeral so this Applebee's was just walking distance up a hill from the motel. In I went, with low expectations. Pleasantly surprised. The location was packed. There was a youth football tournament taking place and kids were all over the motel and restaurants. But sitting at the bar I received excellent service, good drinks and the menu, which I had not seen for more than a year or two, was a really good one. Lots of choices and options. My drinks and orders came well cooked and presented well. The staff, in spite of the manic crowd, were attentive and friendly and it was a pleasant dinner occasion. We had dirty silverware, a dirty booth seat, food all over the floor around our seats, no paper towels in the bathroom, syrup was out on the soda, my chicken was super thin and over cooked, shrimp were tiny and under cooked, mashed potatoes were stone cold, husband's Mac and cheese was just bland Alfredo, 4 of the tiniest chicken tenders ever to exist/all breading, kids' fries came out way later than the rest of our food so they were scalding hot and had to wait on them to cool. The wait staff kept sitting everything down within reach of our 16 month old.... Just a mess.... We won't be back any time soon... :( read more

Not the greatest experience. Was in Lewisburg for the giant flea market and our Applebee's disappeared a few years ago. Thought we try this one. Several of us..like 8 in total. Food came quickly and server was decent..food was blah. Fries cold but tenders where super hot. Mac and cheese was ok..kids meal pizza was not even done. Had it taken off the bill. It was ok but for 25 I expected better..the others say there grilled cheese good but rice was super dry. Maybe try it again another time. read more

I usually don't have crazy high expectations for places like Applebee's. This one honestly didn't even meet my low expectations. I did a To-go order, and the food was ready on time. I went on home and realized they forgot my order of wings (sure I could've checked before leaving). Had to go back and get them, and they didn't include my extra ranch that I paid for. I ordered an app of chips + queso and there was enough queso for like 3 chips. My husband got a medium rare steak and it was well done and practically 100% gristle. He also got a side of broccoli and it smelled absolutely horrendous. We just threw it away when we got home. The only pro I can say is that the boneless wings were decent. Like I said, I don't have high expectations for places like this. The Applebee's close to us at home does a fantastic job, this one not at all. read more

Before reviewing I understand the global situation with covid. We went there on 11/22/21, it was my birthday, we had a party of 4 and the restaurant wasn't even busy. We ordered our food and about an hour in, the other 3 received their food and I asked the server where was mine, are they still working on it, she said yeah they are still working on it. I only ordered a sandwich with fries mind you. She came back to our table about 15 mins later and told me that they either forgot to make my food or they gave it to another table and that they are refiring my food, I was aggravated already because everyone around me was almost finished. I told her I don't want it. I ended up stopping by Wendy's on my way home and grabbed some food. Applebee's really ruined the whole evening for me and my family because their food was cold and mostly not edible. 1 didn't even get a knife for her steak after she asked for one, so she used her hands to eat it. Such poor service. I don't mean the time, I understand short staffing. I mean, just rude. We ordered a quesadilla to start. She was reluctant to let us just order one for 2 people. It was just an appetizer. My boyfriend ordered wings, after the eye roll. We also ordered entrees, I'll get to those. Th quesadilla was terrible. I don't expect greatness, but edible. The tortilla was soggy and not hot. They gave us no sour cream and about an ounce of pico. We ended up getting charged for extra sour cream. The wings were atrocious. They had far too much breading, barely any meat. The sauce was sparse. I got the cajun salmon. I asked for 2 sides of broccoli, which seemed to upset the waitress. When it came out, it was so fishy and pungent. The waitress said it's all the same. So I got grilled chicken, instead. The broccoli was soaked in butter. My boyfriend got the tex mex shrimp bowl. It came with no guacamole, we were charged extra for what they brought out. We had to fix that. Also we had ordered a dessert that we never received. read more

Last time I decided to be brave and try a steak, and well it was actually better than I would have expected. Today, however, was a disaster. I ordered the steak medium. I don't know how Applebee's cooks their steaks, but the first was charred and dry--looked old--and absolutely uncooked inside. The second was edible but well done--no pink whatsoever. The manager actually came to the table and confirmed. I ate it because I was quite hungry at this point and it was edible. But it was not made to order and when the check came there was no compensation for the fact that they had messed up twice. You'd expect at least a little discount...? May get dragged here again with a group, but I'm never ordering a steak here again. The broccoli side was also sad. Just not fresh. read more

I really like this place. The decor, the attitude of the employees and the food justifies their "neighborhood" marketing.

The food was horrible didn't eat it still had to pay for it, even the blondie which was supposed to be hot wasn't it comes on a hot plate but wasn't even warm. We just wanted to give a huge shootout to the staff tonight. 3.13.21.customer service was on point. We are a family of 10 with several picky teenagers and they had a wait of 20 min to get us all seated side by side(takes 2 tables with covid) and they were super slammed. Our waitress Stephanie was absolutely amazing throughout the whole night, she made sure the kids orders were perfect and that we had full drink at all times. It was wonderful to see the GM Robert helping his staff at all times delivering appetizers and answering phones an all. The food was on point, hot and amazing.
