We came here in a large group (about 12 of us). Upon being seated at two tables, our waiter, who is the prime reason for the rating, came over. He greeted us and conversed with us with a very sincere and pleasant smile and demeanor. Most of our group consisted of teens who lightly joked with him. At times I thought they might have gone a little overboard with the joking around but the waiter was totally cool with it and handled all of it with class. He was able to join in the fun while not being distracted from performing his job. Anyway the food....I had the lime cajun tilapia and it was delicious and an absolute bargain for a mere 11.99. Just before leaving and after we had paid the bill we all showed the waiter our respect before leaving. While all the banter was done in good fun, we could have had a waiter or waitress that wouldn't have taken it so well, could have acted rudely, and/or could have provided poor service. This waiter as I mentioned not only handled things smoothly but was able to return the banter in light-hearted fashion. I feel that takes not only skill but also character, which this young man certainly had. His nice and gentlemanly demeanor added to my obligation to write this post. It's been about 3 years more or less that I've been back here to this Applebee's and it hasn't been the same ever since 2013!...I don't know what happened, but it has gone a downward spiral and there's no way back up. Today I was invited to eat here I quickly said NO! Not there. I was convinced to give it a try because they "fixed it up" and the "menu is updated" since the last time I was here. There is only two reasons why people should come to Applebee's.... 1) During half off appetizers/ happy hour hours 2) If you have children and want a family "friendly" restaurant Service is never consistent in this place. Food is overpriced and so blah. The times I have been here, I ordered the boneless chicken wings. Sometimes, these wings have arrived at the table as if they just took them out of the fridge. It really depends on what waiter or waitress you get, familiar faces will treat you well, some unfamiliar faces will prob treat you badly because you know they can spit in your food if they don't like you. Update: as I continuously to dine here with friends only because it's a great place to dine with friends. The food I had recently tried such as Lemon-Shrimp Dish, which was diced tomatos and cilantro that had a balsamic or vinegar like taste topping the shrimps, along with some rice pilaf, it tasted fantastic. The thing I didn't enjoy was the rice, it felt bland, it needed some lemon on there, salt and pepper, also a little more flavor from sautéing the shrimps. Overall, great food. The waitress meant well, but when you actually needed her it took 10 minutes for her to come back to the table. Disappointed with the staff overall. They don't know their own specials, even when they are posted right in front of them! It took them a while to seat us, even though most of the restaurant was empty. Understandably, there were six of us, but again, the restaurant was quite empty. My family and I have been visiting this Applebee's for many years now, and I can surely say that this is one of the best ones that I've ever been too. If I was writing this review several years ago, I wouldn't have given it a five star rating. But the place has gotten much better and it truly deserves the five stars. This location does tend to get full on the weekends, but the staff make sure that you get seated quickly. I think that the longest time I've had to wait for a table at this location was about 30 minutes, and even on days where there line was past the door. The wait staff are very nice and have always treated me and my family with respect. Drinks normally take less than five minutes to get out and the bar is very quick and cranks out drinks in a jiffy. The appetizers we get (mozzarella sticks and boneless barbecue wings) were very good and came out quickly. Our waitress is very tentative to our needs and gets our requests done quickly. Our entrees (tacos, 2 steaks, a pasta bowl and a burger) came out promptly after ordering and were perfect. I rarely have to send an entree back at this location, something that I've had to do at other Applebee's'. Our dining experience was very positive and is the reason that we've been coming back all those years. read more

I really like Applebee's. I think their menu is extensive and fun, and it's reasonably priced, especially when the two for $20 deal is going on. I also think their half priced appetizers after 9 PM is a great deal and good for groups or a late night date. I love their potato skins and mozzarella sticks. I sat at the bar because I was alone, and the bartender Anthony has got to be the best bartender I've ever came across. He made sure everyone sitting at the bar was ok, myself including, he took the time to talk to every person, judging from the people sitting at the bar area I came to the conclusion, they aren't friends outside of the work place, but they are friends in the work place. I can see why people come back, he's definitely got a good heart, and seems like the type of person to listen to you, even if his day was far worse than yours. I tip my hat off to Anthony!! My last experience was not the best there was a A previous manager who was just terrible. As soon as I entered there was a funny smell and had a bad feeling but my mother was starving so I took one for the team. The server was nice and attentive so I gave it one star for that. Other than that our salads didn't taste fresh and left a weird after taste and so did the burger. I really like the food at Applebee's so it really stinks that the closest one to me has the worst service. I've been there on a few separate occasions and every time, the service has been horrible. On one visit, we had a waiter who was...just...weird. He wasn't a people person, that's for sure. And he never seemed to want to make eye contact with us. He would try to make small talk but he would look around all the time so we couldn't hear half of what he said. It didn't really matter because he clearly wasn't interested in what we had to say. Another time, we walked in to both a host and hostess just standing there. They didn't greet us until we actually walked over and stood right in front of them. We were sat not far from the entrance. We waited about 15 minutes just to have a waitress come introduce herself and take drink/app orders. Took another 10 minutes or so to get the drinks. We put in our food orders. Another 10 minutes to get the apps. The whole time, runners were doing this - our waitress was nowhere to be found. We ran out of drinks and only got refills when I could manage to flag our waitress down. Then, she comes back with my food and not my boyfriend's. I had to wait another 10 minutes for his food to come out before I could start eating mine. So by the time he got his food, mine wasn't hot anymore. Certainly, having worked in this industry, I understand service not being great when it's really busy. But they definitely weren't really busy. There was no wait - we were sat quickly (well, after we were able to get the host and hostess to acknowledge us). Again, it's really a shame because the food was good. And the food is really the only reason I didn't give a one-star review. But ever since the above experience, I just can't bring myself to go back.
