I love the discounted apps. It's really a great deal to get customers come in. BUT the crowd that comes here is pretty scary.

I used to love frequenting Applebee's because of the simplicity of its food. It was basic American style dining in a homey, neighborhood-centric setting. Unfortunately now, they have re-invented themselves and it's most certainly not for the best. The new "Bar Snack" menu style is complete shit. Whomever engineered the menu was trying to do something that they didn't need to do, nor had no business doing. All the new appetizers, such as Kobe-style meatballs, Pot Stickers, Brisket sliders...don't seem like they really belong. On top of that, they don't even taste good and are poorly constructed and plated. Not appetizing at all. The only thing worthy trying in my opinion is the Sriracha Shrimp. I've had it on two occasions and the sauce is good-IF they don't drown the shrimp in it like they did my 2nd time trying it. Quality of their steaks has gone down too, and I really didn't think one could ever mess up a steak. I'm afraid I don't want to go back there, at least for food. The food is incredible and the service is good: the only dish I get there is the four cheese mac and cheese with honey pepper chicken tenders that comes with a piece of garlic bread (I'm drooling just thinking about it lol) the desserts are very good as well read more

You know they have the usual applebees grub. On Saturday I went and had a good time and found good value in the money spent. A combo meal with a small dessert for an extra $1.00. You can't beat that. My first time in a Applebee. We were shopping in the area and dropped in for lunch. The ambience is similar to what u would find at other chains like chili's or tgif. The chairs were a little worn out and needed cleaning. We ordered the pomegranate and mango iced teas and they were just awful, did not taste the flavoring at all. Refills are not free. The food was fine though. We got the 2 for $20 deal and ordered the spinach & artichoke dip, chicken pasta and chicken lime fiesta. Portions are huge and we had to get a box to go. read more

I tried to get his attention a couple of times to refill our drinks but ignored us and walked passed us several times and didn't say a word. I just had lunch at this Applebee's on Fri. My kids and I arrived at around 12:15. We were greeted and seated promptly. However, I later dropped something on the floor and bent down to pick it up. I saw that that floor was filled with trash. Dirty napkins, straws and other garbages. It just ruined my appetite. Which means they don't clean the place up at night or morning before opening for lunch??? The foods came out in a timely manner but was cold. We ordered the lunch combo all 3 consisted of the 4-Mac and cheese. It all cold and way too sweet. When the waitress came with our bill, instead of asking us why we didn't finish half of our lunch, she was only concerned of telling us where to look for the tips suggestions. We have tried Applebee's several times. They have never cooked a steak to order- They gave us well done steaks many times when we ordered rare. One time when there were four of us, two people received there order and over 30 minutes late we still did not get our food; the manager was very apologetic but that did not get our food. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I just left and was so upset about my experience that I couldn't even leave the parking lot before writing this. When my friend and I first arrived, we got seated and it took about 10 minutes for someone to even approach us for our order. When we moved to the bar, it just got worse. The waiter told us we could not sit at the booths for happy hour and then said "oh it is included". Then the waitress took forever and the food was subpar. My boneless chicken was chewy and gelatinous and my fries were stale and lukewarm. The macaroni and cheese was a disgrace to macaroni and cheese and at that point I was over it. The only thing that got this Applebee's one star, other than the fact that I couldn't give it 0 stars, is the ribs, which were okay. Upon leaving, I told the two hostesses by the door who were having a personal conversation to have a good day. They did not even acknowledge me, but instead continued with their conversation as my friend and I walked out. 0 out of 10, would not recommend. read more

My family and I usually eats at this place in linden. Last time we were there turns out to be our last. Sat down waited for a while till somebody came to or table. Took our order. Drinks came first but the coffee was cold. Waited for a good half hour and no food ever comes. Ask the server and he went in the kitchen and came back to us, told me that part of my order was frozen and still being thawed..? So we changed our order and another good half hour no food. So we ask for a manager and explained to him what happened. He said he'll looked into it. He came back and said it's being prepared but again no food. So we just ask for the manager and told him we're leaving. He never even apologized and just said don't worry about the drinks ( with the cold coffee ) and that's it. My sister & I was seated at a booth in the bar area located in front of the main entrance ,where there were glass dividers. They had large gaps between each divider which made the main entrance /waiting area visible .The bartender was serving drinks and he was also the server for the entire room ! Instead of taking orders he spent his time flirting with his fellow coworkers! Took about 15 min before they placed our drink order . It took another 20 min before he took our order ! During this time we had balls flying thru our booth which is dangerous and one of the balls had hit my sister in the head .Apparently their where a bunch of kids playing by the door. I proceed to bring the ball to the hostess! She was aware of what had happen but she never addressed the issue nor apologize for the situation. I return to my booth and the hostess is now playing with these kids and proceed to throw the balls consistently at them !! I wasn't aware that Applebee's babysits kids now for the whole time while their parents ate in peace! Your right they aren't babysitters, but these kids belong to the store manager at Applebee's. These kids were like 4, 6 & 9 that is my guess . We never received refills on our diet cokes, & my sister dinner was wrong ! She had asked for a steak very well done but it was very pink ! it took a lot of effort to get our server attention at this point we lost our appetite ! We asked for the check and left !!! the host where really sweet and nice. even though we did have to wait a good while for a seat. when we were seated it took for ever to get a server over. then the women i believe, came over and was rushing us and giving attitude. we put drinks in and it took forver to get them. then we got some not all. then she snapped at one of us with a horrible and terrifying attitude, we were shocked. we quickly requested the manager over. he came right away and we requested a new server. the manager was understanding and helpful. i have been in the restaurant industry for a while, and this experience chocked me. if you can't handle it, you should not be in the serving industries!!! i have been eating at applebee's for years. and have always been satisfied with each experience. but will have to question myself next time i decide to dine at applebee's cause of this awful and terrifying experience. read more

Steak dinner good, service good. Atmosphere ok (music not overly loud). Bathroom needs lots of attention and carpet needs a THOROUGH STEAM-CLEANING or, better yet, complete replacement. Went here for happy hour one weeknight. Drinks and waitstaff were good but the apps were the blandest I've ever had at an Applebee's. Wings and nachos were terrible. Walked into the bar and was deciding whether to sit at a tall table (one of several where no one was seated (it was about 5:20pm in the afternoon). I had an older (30's?) male bartender with a scowl on his face ask me "Can I help you?" I said I was thinking about either sitting at the bar or at one of the bar tables. He said "If you want to sit at that table, you need to walk back up to the hostess and have her seat you." I found that to be very odd. There was no hostess present when I walked in and not that many people in the bar area at all. I figured I'd better sit at the bar to make it easier on myself. Then he glares at me again and asked me what I wanted to drink. I said I didn't know yet. In essence, he said nothing wrong. But in reality, he made me feel unwelcome with his bad attitude and stoic expression. I decided to take my business elsewhere and got up and left. On the way out I said to the guy that opens the door that "you have a cranky bartender". He laughed and then the "server" sitting in the waiting area texting started to laugh too. At first it really was the topping on the cake to be laughed at when I had an issue. Then I remember a discussion I had with another bartender that that said they hate the one older male bartender because he is bossy and acts like their manager because he's been there so long. They said he's tight with the managers and district managers and thinks he can boss people around. Even came up with the idea of having them wear hawaiian shirts at the employee's expense. I'm sure he's rubbed the other employees the wrong way too...that's why they were laughing on my way out. All and all...reevaluate your staff and train them on hospitality and customer service. WORST SERVICE EVER! One star and its only because I cant give it no stars. My husband and I came here for a quick bite before a movie (since its right on the same lot as the movie theater). When we walked in we were greeted by the host and seated. We sat at the bar since we were in a bit of a rush (only had like 35 - 40 mins. before the movie). After like maybe 10 - 15 minutes and no one coming to attend us I asked a server who was just passing by if he knew when someone would attend us since we'd been sitting for a while and are in a bit of a rush (I said it in a very nice way), to which he replied "you guys just walked like not even 5 minutes ago, let me find out" and he just walked away. (He said it in a very rude way) My jaw just dropped I was in shock! We felt so uncomfortable and upset that we just got up to leave. Upon exiting the front door, the hostess must have noticed something wasn't right because she came to ask us if everything was alright to which I replied "You really have to start hiring nicer people". She offered to get the manager which we declined. The damage was done and by this time we only had like 20 - 25 minutes before the movie. So we ended up going next door to Dragonfly's (5 stars) and made it to the movie just in time. read more
