I haven't been to this particular Applebee's before, so me and my girlfriend decided to stop by to try it out before a movie. At first glance, the place looked really cool, and the new style bar area was very inviting. We ordered one of their 2 for $20 deals which came with an appetizer and 2 entrees. The issue I have with this experience are these things: the waitress brought out our appetizers first followed immediately my entree. Nothing to eat with. No silverware. Asked for that so we could eat. Took 10 min to get that. We just stared at the boneless wings until we finally got that. My gfs burger still hasn't arrived, so we munched on the appetizer. After a few more min, her burger came, and it was the wrong side order as well as a hamburger that was bleeding all over her plate into her fries she didn't order. We told our waitress about the multiple issues, and she took the plate back. I finished all of my food and sat to wait on her food to arrive. It still took another 20 min or so before she got her food and STILL never not one time an apology for the issues with this meal. It's the least someone could do to be honest. We got there around 11:40 and there only two other customers when we arrived. It took 5-6 minutes before our server came to the table to get our drink and appetizer order. We ordered a combo appetizer and it took another 25 minutes before that was delivered. In that time she did not check back in with us to refill our tea or take our meal order. We ordered our meals when she finally brought out our appetizer. She was SO slow it seemed deliberate and acted totally disinterested in taking care of us. Our server was extremely rude. When greeting our table she said hello and then snarkily asked, "You know what you want to eat?" When we said no and asked for a few minutes she huffed and and stomped off. She then came back a couple more times and repeated the same process. When she brought our drinks she slammed them on the table and almost spilled the one. Also, the drink she almost spilled had liquid already streaming down the sides because it was way overfilled. While waiting for our food our server sat at the table behind us eating and staring. When our entrees arrived we were given one set of regular silverware and two plastic ones, because and I quote, "I got you these so you can get out of here quicker." She then went back to sit behind our table and eat. When she was done eating she came to our table and stated she was gonna get our ticket so we could get out of there, even though we never asked for our check nor were we asked if we wanted dessert or anything else. The instant it looked like we were done eating she was back at our table wanting payment and stating we needed to stack our plates for her. When one of my companions told our server how rude she was being and about her horrible service she cocked her hip out with one arm on it and giggled at him the whole time. He asked her to leave the table several times while we filled out the check she continued to hover and lean over me making me uncomfortable. She was also staring and giggling at my other table companion because she was having difficulty getting her card out of her wallet due to her left hand not having full functionality from a recent stroke. We gave her the signed check and she left momentarily and then she came right back while we're were getting up to leave and was grabbing stuff off of the table. I have never felt so rushed at a restaurant in my entire life. I found the service to be beyond reprehensible and at the very least I feel our server should be written up. I understand that times are tough, however, having worked in customer service and as a server myself, you need to treat your customers with respect and dignity. Ok - I should have known better. It's Applebee's. Went with a group of 8 on a Sunday after church. Would not have been my choice considering that I know it's a sub-par (way sub-par) establishment, however it was the groups decision so I begrudgingly went along. Arrived at appx 12:45 and was seated with the group. Drinks, appetizers etc - no problem. Then the entrees. We all ordered straight from the menu, nothing special. 45 min later diners 1-6 of our group were finally served by the clueless food runners. Our server was nowhere to be seen as is the case in most locations these days whereas the one who TAKES your order, for some cosmic reason, cannot be the one who BRINGS your order. Diners 7&8 (I'm #8) aren't served and are forgotten. Nothing. So, we wait. And wait. At the 55 min mark diner #7 gets his. Nothing for me. I had ordered a chicken Parmesan. The server then told me that they were "waiting on the noodles to cook". At the 1:05 point I lost all faith that I was going to receive ANYTHING from the kitchen so I made my farewell to the group and left and went somewhere else. Never a response from anyone in management. No acknowledgements of ridiculous wait times for orders. They weren't full or overly busy at the time. Mostly angry at myself for agreeing to go this this notoriously god-awful place to begin with and having some ludicrous expectations that it would be anything short of deplorable. If you're reading this and considering going here, one word of advice: don't. There are too many other places nearby that appreciate customers and make an honest effort. The day is coming when these big chain restaurants like these who so often are a disgrace will no longer be able to maintain a presence with so many other quality alternatives doing it right. I walked into the establishment for the first time because it was getting late and most restaurants were closing. When we entered, we were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and modern decor. Our waitress was amazing! The wait for the food is moderate. But when I received the food, for the price I was paying, I was sadly underwhelmed. I got the 6oz sirloin with macaroni. I asked to get it without bacon. I received the macaroni, and it had bacon in it even though I asked to have it without. She came back to tell me that the macaroni could not be without bacon AFTER I got the food. But all in all the food was good but the serving is underwhelming. Would not recommend. read more

Applebee's in this area used to be run by an organization that managed 100's of stores in the southeast. They always had great service and good food. I'm not sure who is running them now, but this is embarrassing. Stopped by on a Monday at 6pm. Probably 20 ppl in the store. Was seated and then got drinks. Then it went down hill. The server was not present. Drinks remained empty, took forever to get our order, and food. Wow. Unless they were in the back breaking down live chickens for the boneless wing it should never have taken so long. After we got our wings and salads another 30 min goes by, no server no food. Finally server stops by and asks you " you don't have any food yet". Yeah we ate, cleaned our plates and then cleared the table because the self service here is the best. Finally got our food. Food was good when it finally arrived. I wont be back. Too many other options on this exit. Try Buffalo's down the block. Always good service and great food. Also never saw a manager. Whatever corporation is running both Applebees in Macon needs to read the reviews and clean house. Or just close both stores. It's embarrassing. read more

Decided to stop here with my mom recently for a quick dinner one Saturday evening. Should've known the experience was going to be bad after we waited almost 10 minutes to be seated when the restaurant wasn't even full... Right after we received our drinks, the fire alarm went off. No one seemed concerned or mentioned anything to us, and the alarm blared on and on and on. Our waitress never apologized and in fact was down right rude. She walked by and said "well it's just noise" when we contemplated just paying for the drinks and leaving. Well yeah, but I'm not spending money to sit in silence with my fingers plugged in my ears! A friend of mine was actually eating with his parents there at the same time, and he mentioned how his waiter apologized for the inconvenience profusely. Our food took forever to arrive and came out at different times. I had a question about my food when it arrived and I was met with another defensive and rude comment from the waiter. We also had to wait for silverware and when I asked for a to go box, I opened the box up only to find a hair in it. I'm usually very easy going at restaurants but haven't had a waiter be that blatantly rude in years. My mom and I were actually both shocked with her attitude and how we were treated. The food was lackluster and I can't believe we didn't even receive a coupon or a simple apology for the experience of sitting through the never ending alarm. Came into Applebee's on Zebulon RD on Monday 2/15/16.@320-330 There were not many people in restaurant but there was a dirty table full of dishes directly across from me the entire time I was there 1.5 hours) Saw waitress ( Kimberly add trash to the table saw Hostess look at the table several times before partly removing some of the Dirty cups and plates. I ordered Double crunch bone in wings with a Caesar Salad. Wings came out but not Salad ( told waitress Jessica) who brought food out but was not person who took my order,( Kimberly took order) I'm missing salad. Salad never comes out I'm almost done with Wings Kimberly returns I tell her I ordered Salad she says let me go check. She comes back to tell me its ready... I tell her cancel it I'm done eating. Kimberly tells me they made Salad but it wasn't brought out. Im thinking how was I to eat if if if was never brought to my table. I again tell her I don't want it now we are about to leave.. This place sucks. I've been here twice in the last 6 months the first time service and food was mediocre and the second time was terrible. We were sat immediately after walking in. Me and my husband sat there for nearly 10 minutes before someone stopped to ask what we wanted to drink meanwhile other tables near us seemed to have quick great service around us our server returned with the drink put them on the table and walked away before we could tell him we are ready to order. He didn't return to the table and I got up to let somebody know we are ready and he was just standing around the corner talking to some of the other waitstaff. Our food came out cold and after a table that sat down after us. He didn't return to the table until he collected the cash for the check. Sad service. Poor food. Go somewhere else. read more
