Sounds the same but updated in some areas! A good place to eat in a hurry! Designed to fit lots of people and it often does. The service is usually quick and polite. Appetizers are good and a good selections. Menu has a wide range of meals and some are more unique for added flare. Foods are good, but not alway consistent for example steaks can be tender or tough at times. The 2 for $24 and 2 for $27 selections are good to review. If you chose 1 from each they just split the difference! Drink prices are climbing most everywhere, no wonder many are drinking plain water these days. Parking is good and restrooms are kept clean. The restaurant has two floor levels but the in-the-door floor is good for handicap. Wheelchairs are more of a challenge because of the crowded layout and walking traffic! Some foods come on a skillet in a wood holder -- beware food can be extremely HOT burns your mouth and tongue -- so BE CAREFUL! As in any restaurant try not to keep ordering the same menu items! 5/22/26 at 7:35 pm- Amber ( Caucasian female with blonde hair ), IS TERRIBLE. she wasn't refilling our drinks or food, was being super rude and gave our payment device to someone else. so we had to wait another 15 minutes for her to come. i asked her for a to go cup for my water and to speak with the manager. her service was SO bad, the people in front of us literally thought another server was theirs because she never went back to the table, but the male server started serving them food to make up for her incompetence, and I overheard them saying "we didn't think you were our server anymore" and she said "oh no I'm so sorry. I forgot about this "when they had ordered that 30 minutes ago and the other server already gave it to them. She then saw we only tipped $2, I only know she saw because I watched her go straight to the bar and look at the system while we were processing our payment. She then waited an extra five minutes after that and came to me with a water and no to go cup, no reciept , then no manager, and played dumb when i mentioned it AGAIN as if I didn't ask for all of those things. so I really hope that somebody sees this because she's terrible and i couldn't seem to be able to talk to the manager!?. Which is something corporate will hopefully respond to as I did make a call regarding this. She needs to be fired. We will NOT return. read more

The food was actually decent. The service was mid and the ambiance was just ok. I think this particular restaurant needs an upgrade. Seems like the furniture needs an update along with the dishes and silverware...looks too gross to eat off of! The lady who waited on us seemed nice nasty. Arrived with a party of 4 at 5PM on Saturday. 2 of us ordered the tacos and specifically asked for a small caesar salad. 1 hour later food arrived. Tacos and salads were very good However the other couple did not enjoy there food I can not speak for them. Surprisingly good this last time. I had the 1/2 rack of whiskey river ribs, seasoned rice and a baked potato. Everything was cooked well. My wife got a steak, loaded baked potato, also cooked well. I'm going to first start by saying I am a bartender/ server at an established business in the Massillon areas so I'm incredibly understanding of the demands required in the industry. I fully understand that sometimes your kitchen as well as floor staff become very busy and can only do so much. However it is necessary to be aware of issues at the table or at the very least check on the tables. Neither of the two times did a manager ever approach the table and ask about service or our meals. We have came in two times in the last week and both times we have had awful service . The first our server whom was very sweet came to our table to get our drink order as well as our food order ( we gave it to her when we ordered our soft drinks ) because it took her quite a while to get to our table to get our drinks . Our food took over 35 min to come out. We ordered appetizers only. There was two to three tables in the entire restaurant. Tonight we came in and there was a 35 min wait. No big deal. We waited. We placed drinks and food at the same time bevshe again it was a lengthy wait for our server to come to the table. We orders four appetizers . They came out one by one . Second being wings that were cold . We sent them back, third was pretzels, fourth were our tacos that I had to ask for. The plate was incredibly hot which typically means it's sat in the window under a heat lamp for a lengthy amount of time. I ate one and didn't eat the rest. Our drinks were empty for more than half the time. We sat down at 11:25 and didn't leave until 12:35. Over an hour to get four appetizers all in which came out at separate times. I will always tip a server well over 20% because it's only Right . But I am over all disappointed in the service as well as the food times and quality. read more

Went to Applebee's on Labor day , one of the only opened places. We had to wait , no problem, while waiting I watched a very lazy young woman work harder trying to look busy than if she just did her job. I felted sorry for the manager who was attempting to do several jobs at once. He was cleaning tables, setting people, and chasing after his very lazy staff. Our food was OK, but not very warm. Waited a half an hour before I waived to the manager to come over and asked if we coulld get waited on. 10 minutes later someone ate and took my drink order and 15 minutes after that before our food order was taken. I ordered food online from Applebee's and did an in-store pick up because we had a lot of running to do. We have been here since our pick up time which was 20 min ago and still no food. I'm so disappointed! No apologies when our food came out and it was the manager who gave it to us! Severely lacking in customer service! Sure, it's a chain restaurant, but this one is a good one! We often stop here after church and are lucky enough to get there before the "rush". We are often seated at a table for 4 even though it's just the two of us, but don't worry if you are seated at a table for two because their two toppers are actually roomy! Not some tiny squeezed in table! We like their "2 for $" meals even though the price has crept up to 2 for $27! Today we ordered the Asian chili boneless wing app and the Bourbon Street chicken and shrimp which we have had before. Both were scrumptious. The wing sauce was sweet with a little zing to it and the entree comes out on an iron plate still sizzling! Potato chunks, onions, mushrooms with a nicely grilled ( not at all dry) chicken breast and shrimp all with a scoop of herb butter melting away on it. Not a HUGE meal but fills me to the brim. Can't quit till I mention the wait staff. We have never had a poorly trained server here. They are polite, helpful, friendly and some even remember us from month to month. I don't live in the area, but I camp down the road at Clay's Park Resort, a few of us decided to do a "ladies lunch" on a Saturday. You guys were having a long island special so we all ordered a few rounds of long islands, the waitress as well as the manager working that day were very friendly, drinks came out as ordered and the food was good. I had the oriental salad lunch portion it was perfectly sized for lunch and went well with my drinks. We will come back here next camping season for more "ladies lunches"! read more

My boyfriend and I went for lunch, we had cheese sticks and chicken quesadillas for appetizers, then bacon cheeseburger and fries. He drank coffee and I had tea. All was very delicious. Everything cooked to perfection. Great job to the cook. Our waitress was fantastic. She checked on us often, very polite. A manager brings it to us no problem. We find the one entree on the kids menu she can have. Ok no issue, she'll eat that. Waitress comes back and we order it. Oh sorry we don't have that anymore for kids but they do for adults. Well, she's 2, she won't eat all of that, can we get it as a kids meal since it's on the allergy Menu? Nope. She then asks if we need more time. No! You are saying she can't have the only thing safe for her on your menu. So we have to leave, and find someone where else to eat AFTER paying almost $4 for a soda I didn't drink. The nice thing about Applebee's is that you can get a lot of food for a relatively cheap price. The bad thing about Applebee's is that it's just a black hole for people to spend money and come away from the experience with -- well, nothing, really. You go there, you eat a lot of mediocre, forgettable food, you pay a little, you go home. The end. However, I do have to give credit where it's due. As one of the few sit-in dining options in Massillon, Applebee's doesn't do a bad job as far as service goes, and I've never had any mistakes made with my order. Woo hoo. read more

I went there with a friend I hadn't seen in 6plus years and boy I tell you our food and drinks was amazing . I recommend Applebees in Massillon . They have wonderful staff & great attitudes . They work together as a team and help each other out . It's nice to see everyone help each other . I was very pleased and will come back as much as possible . Drinks at the bar are very delicious and worth every bit of your money . The manager Trudy is awesome and does make sure everyone is pleased with their service . This is my worst experience at a restaurant in my entire life and I am not exaggerating. First we waited 10 minutes just to be seated not sure why when they were all just standing around. My mom orders her meal with no cheese and that's when world war 3 begins. They bring our food out and it was made wrong so she told them no cheese please and they took it back. My food wasn't even hot when I got it. It's also freezing in there so bring your snow pants and eat fast before your food is as cold as it is outside. The manager brings the fixed one out and adds a comment "I always say cheese makes everything better but I guess not for everybody" lol okay? Strange comment to make. We begin eating. Not soon after my mom realized her chicken is beyond overcooked, is full of gristle, topped with a pound of tomato sauce to fix their mistake of making it with cheese and the noodles just looked dry, awful and unappetizing. The breadstick was good. She tells our waitress she doesn't like her meal and she says okay she will get her manager. She explains how her food is overcooked and it frankly tasted like - shit. She explains how she is allergic to cheese and how disrespectful her previous comment was. The manager offers another meal and a dessert and we politely declined. She continues to tell her to get something when maybe they could just make their food right the first time? We're good. She wouldn't leave our table or us alone it's starting to get ridiculous and she begins acting very unprofessional so I suggest us just leaving. We get up to leave and she won't move, I think she wanted to cause a problem with us and if that's the case I'm not sure how she's a manager of anything? So food allergist beware! Will never be back. After traveling all day we decidedly to catch dinner. We all ordered soups with our dinners. The two French onions were cold (cheese wasn't melted either). The third soup was like warm at best. When the meals came one plates mashed potatoes were cold.the second persons appetizer combo was fine. The third plate the sweet potato mash was cold and the pork chop was very over done. Seated on the outside and like shoe leather on the inside. By this point we'd given up on trying again. There is obviously an issue with temperature control in their kitchen.
