This place was pretty empty for a Saturday evening. We were greeted promptly. Our server who introduced herself was experiencing her second day at work so she didn't have a good handle of what's good in the menu as asked. She was very sweet and did ask her colleagues for a recommendation. I started with a BudLight and the glass wasn't frosted but refrigerated. We opted for the Appetizer plate so that we could try a couple different items. There weren't any home runs, just okay items. The Eggplant wasn't anything special and the Bolognese sauce needed some help so my salt shaker got to shaken. And a little more. And a little more. And a little more. Then Some pepper. And then a little more. My wife actually liked her Bolognese dish, so perhaps it was me. We were finally offered bread once our main entrees came. Excellent food!! Generous portions and fabulous service!! I was hesitant because I hadn't been there in many years. Bugsy's did not disappoint! Ever dish was incredible (we couldn't finish our portions and there were seven of us). The Calzone was collosal! Everyone else got pasta dishes and we all left with a takehome box. Personally, I have never had a bad meal here and have always received great service. I'm easygoing, so please understand that the following comments are directed specifically to management and ownership, not the server. On an evening such as Valentine's Day--especially when it falls on a Saturday--proper staffing should be anticipated. Below are my observations: 1. Arrival - Strong Start We were greeted by the host and told there would be a 10-15 minute wait, which was completely reasonable given the occasion. We chose to wait at the bar and ordered drinks. Before I had even decided on mine, the host informed us our table was ready. Excellent turnaround. The bartender advised that our tab would be transferred to our server (this becomes relevant later). We were seated promptly. 5 stars for the initial experience. Unfortunately, this is where things began to decline. 2. Delayed Service After Seating Three tables near us waited an unreasonable amount of time to be greeted. Our server approached and asked if we needed anything else--as if we had already been served--clearly unaware that we had just been seated. This was not the server's fault; they had not been informed of our presence. We had been seated approximately 20 minutes at that point. While we were not in a rush and remained patient, the table next to us had been there even longer without being acknowledged. 1 star for lack of coordination and table awareness. 3. Continued Lack of Attention After another 10 minutes without seeing our server, I went to the bar to order a drink. The bartender appeared confused that I was ordering there instead of through our server. I explained the situation and asked that it be added to our bill (another detail to follow). 1 star for lack of oversight and communication. 4. Ordering and Staffing Concerns When we were finally able to place our order, the server apologized and explained they were extremely busy. We completely understood. However, this same explanation was being given to multiple tables. A three-top was seated and experienced the same delay. I discreetly informed our server that the new table had not yet been greeted. This is not a criticism of the server. The issue was clearly inadequate staffing and support on one of the busiest nights of the year. No stars for backup and floor management. 5. Basic Service Gaps There is an order of operations in hospitality, and Valentine's Day should not be an exception. Guests should not have to request basic items commonly offered in Italian restaurants, such as bread. We had to ask. We also had to request cutlery after our food arrived. The table next to us was served before we were, which was appropriate. However, they did not receive silverware. Since we had already been given ours, I handed ours over to them. Again, this is not directed at our server, who handled themselves well under pressure. The responsibility lies with management to ensure tables are properly prepped and service flows efficiently. 2.5 stars for partial execution. 6. Inconsistent Meal Timing The previously mentioned three-top received their meals at different times. Two guests were served while the third waited noticeably. Meals at the same table should be delivered together. This is fundamental service practice. I can only imagine how larger parties may have been affected. Additionally, a guest was asked whether they wanted grated cheese halfway through their pasta. These are details that reflect a breakdown in standards. To be fair, the server appeared to be managing 8-10 tables alone. That is a management decision, not a service failure. 1 star for inadequate staffing and oversight. 7. The Final Detail - Lost Revenue Remember the bar tab that was supposed to be transferred? It never made it to our bill. I received a complimentary $14 drink due to lack of communication. While that may be a "win" for me, it is a clear loss (although small) for the business. However, multiply small lapses like this over the course of a month and review the impact on your Profit & Loss statement. I have always enjoyed my experiences at Bugsy's, which is why this review is disappointing to write. I will likely return. However, first-time guests who arrived with high expectations based on strong reviews may not. This was not a failure of service effort. It was a failure of management planning, staffing, and operational coordination on one of the most predictable high-volume nights of the year. read more

Went to dinner w a friend. Server was very attentive but... I inquired about the price of the lamb as I always remember them having good lamb. She said 1/2 rack was 30. I got the lamb. It was tough. When she asked how it was and I told her she said " I'm sorry". Then the bill came. The lamb was actually 37,95! When I questioned her on that she said " oh it must have gone up today. Had the risotto balls and calamari, both delicious and highly recommend, we were torn between the Bugsy's pasta and the pescatore pasta so my fiancé and I each got one, they were both fantastic! The service here was the quickest we have had since Covid, we never waited on refills and our entrees came out quick. It comes with garlic butter style linguine, and the veal comes "on a bed of marinara sauce" By bed of marinara they mean an ounce maybe two ounces of sauce. I asked for more sauce as it is a Parmesan dish, 99c for a small plastic cup of sauce. Or 2.99 for a cup! I got charged for both the cup and the ramaken of sauce. The veal was very dry and tough. I was really skeptical about coming here because A- it's next to a tattoo shop lol and B- it looks like a complete hole in the wall. Y'all... IT. WAS. OUTSTANDING! We arrived at 6pm on a Saturday and I thought for sure we'd have a wait, but we were seated immediately. Our server promptly took our drink order and told us a little about the menu. We ordered the risotto balls... do yourself a favor and order these! You get 6 and they're in a creamy sauce with tomatoes and cheese and are just delicious. We ate them so quickly, I didn't even get a picture. We ordered dinner and I got the chicken parm and my husband got the chicken Marsala, we both got the upgraded Misto salads (you'll want to do this) and we got a side of crispy potatoes to share. There wasn't room in our bellies for dessert, but we WILL be back and I'll get the tiramisu for sure. Any negative reviews on here are one off scenarios of people's anniversary expecting a complimentary dessert, a loud band and the drink order being messed up, or something about there being one crouton on a salad, are #1 not helpful at all and #2 have no business being on these platforms. Especially when the negative reviews can't stop with just giving feedback and have to go so far as trying to say not to be a patron at said restaurant, you know someone is just not a good person and you should not pat attention to them. Restrooms are clean and the parking lot for this small strip mall is ample for this restaurant!! TVs are in various locations and a full bar for those that just want drinks. I am not sure if they have a happy hour!! Lunches are popular here for small groups as well as fabulous dinners!! A light fare or a hearty meal is always available! Prices are reasonable for a quality food and service. There is also a very large additional room for large groups or over-flow crowds!! We had so much fun at dinner! 1st Bugsy's employees are the kindest people! To me that's my fav about visiting any location. Next I love the paper covered tables we pulled out a pen and put the phones away, while this Italian music is playing in the background next thing you know we're drawing on the table then we start humming and singing along quietly as not to disturb other guests lol!!! I have such high hopes for this place. I ordered the shrimp scampi. My daughter ordered lobster mac and cheese. Both were served with imitation crabmeat, which was not listed on the menu. Went there tonight for dinner. Been coming here many times for last 2 years with my son and my 2 grandkids and for numerous orders to go. . Our waitress was Kelly and she served our drinks then never returned to take our order. Another waitress came and took our order which was fine. Bread and seasoned oil came but it had way too much pepper in it and I was given a replacement. I realized that it was just vegetable oil and not olive oil. Was it not made with olive oil prior? Salads were served but lettuce on both were a bit soggy and the Parmesan Ranch dressing was watery and runny. I made Kelly aware of this but rather than offering to give me another salad.. she got mad about it... and defensive. She made both me and my son feel bad for pointing this out to her. I took two small bites of the salad and knew I didn't want it. Both salads were like this. She also accused me of eating half of the salad which was absolutely not true. Her attitude and the manner in which she handled this was extremely poor and ruined our dining experience. The other waitress was excellent and very apologetic regarding the incident and tried her best to make us feel better as she's waited on us the majority of the times we've gone there. The meals were very good... spaghetti and meatballs and pasta with mussels... though for $20 ... the pasta with mussels dinner was very skimpy on the amount of pasta given. Then on the bill they add $1.53 service charge even when cash is paid. I'm sorry to say this ... but the bill was almost $45.00 for 2 meals and to be treated the way we were is unacceptable. Food is good however we went there specifically for rack of lamb. When I asked for mint jelly they don't have any. It's a pretty common condiment with rack of lamb so in turn didn't get to order. Some of the nice things about bugsys are the daily deals and the interesting drinks they make. The prices aren't too bad either. We like to come on Wednesdays because there's a deal where if you buy and entree there's a discount on an appetizer...who doesn't like cheap and good appetizers? And I love fancy and tasty cocktails and martinis. They did one with cotton candy...ooo... there's a deal too where certain drinks are half off, I think also on Wednesdays. The service has always been good. I like their uniforms, but I doubt the staff like it. I don't care for the parchment paper on the tables but I understand why it's there, but I feel like there's a better way to do that. I feel like the food can be better. I want to like it more than I do but they make it so hard. The lasagna was probably the most disappointing. I feel as though they can take the recipes they have and just make them better, then the overall quality of the food would be a 5/5 instead of a 3/5. The hostess is seating people out of order, some people have been waiting since 6:45 for their reservation and still haven't been sat. I'm a regular customer with a reward card and love the food and atmosphere. I have never had a bad experience until last week when I went there for lunch. One of the menu items I love is the portabella bruschetta. However the waitress recommended this "special" bruschetta platter. She told us there were different types of bruschetta and explained the ingredients on each bruschetta. So far so good. When it came, it was good. But not that "special". But good. The probelm was when we recieved our bill. This "special" bruschetta was $18.99!! $18.99 bruschetta consisted of 9 pieces of bruschetta. The waitress failed to mentioned that this bruschetta platter was a $10.oo jump in price. I also want to mention that this item was not on the menu and as I write this it is not on their online menu either. And the word "special" leaves the impression that the price is comparable so that is why I did not ask. So just be aware when you eat there if something is not on the menu ask..unless price is no problem for you. It did leave a bad feeling on my part since I am a regular and took this as a slap in the face. I have not been back there since. Massillon has tons of other really nice restaurants so no loss on my part. read more

This place was very good!!! I can't believe I haven't been here before and my office is right down the street. Ambiance was lively but not overbearing. The lights are dim. The servers were very friendly. One thing I noticed... when the servers were definitely a team - they really helped each other out. My buddies and I ordered the stuffed peppers as an appetizer and they were amazing! I love deep fried stuffed peppers and these did not disappoint. Ask for extra sauce as they are very light on it. We also got the mozzarella fritta. I thought it was going to be one large piece of deep fried cheese but it was actually a bunch of small mozzarella sticks. With dinner I got a glass of cab and it was a big pour for the price. Veal Parm was my selection and it was super crispy (it was almost like a schnitzel)! I switched out the herb pasta for fettuccine Alfredo and it was a good move. For the veal, again - ask for more sauce, it was very light. My friend got the Bugsy Pasta which almost has basically a spicy vodka sauce on it. It was super tasty as well. Overall - very reasonable pricing for some fantastic Italian. What a mistake! The food and drinks were overpriced. We ordered the calamari as a starter. Very disappointing. It was obvious that the calamari is brought in frozen. My husband's Lobster Ravioli came out cold. The flavor was very mediocre. We have had better many times. The service unfortunately was just as bad as the food. Our server/bartender Vaniya seemed to be having a bad day and was quite rude. Anything we asked seemed to be an inconvenience. It was not just us. The people we were sitting near seemed to get the same treatment. If serving is not for you, then find another job. Just because you are having a bad day does not mean you should lower the level of service you provide. Terrible, terrible service! We told the restaurant that it was our anniversary. No complementary dessert or acknowledgement in any way. You would think that when you choose to go to a new place on a special night that they would go above and beyond and maybe even throw in something for free. Even though Olive Garden is not technically real Italian you would be better off saving your money and going there. At least over there the staff is friendly, the food is warm, and they actually care when you are celebrating a special night. Needless to say, we won't be back!
