I have been eating at Applebee's in Pikeville since 2015. The restaurant is filled with servers, managers, bartenders and to go specialist that you can tell are a family. When visiting if you do just so happen to get bad service another member of the team is right there to pick up the slack. I have always felt welcome and well taken care of while eating at Pikeville Applebees. I have only had one bad experience with food and the managers were quick to help out with the bill and replace the food. I have been to several other Applebees and this is always my favorite and I catch myself saying "Wow, Pikeville Bees is so much better." I love Pikeville Applebees; the food, the staff, the experience. All around a great place and one of my favorite places in Pikeville to eat. read more

Service was absolutely horrendous... Food was ok. Unfortunately Texas road house didn't open until 3, so that's why we chose to come here. I literally had to get my own refills. Holler for my server as she would make a brief appearance and quickly disappear. Ugh.... It was insanely disappointing. Will never return. Great place to go... as long as you don't mind subpar food, condescending staff, and being told that menu items weren't available due to it being late... even though closing was not for another couple hours. When you see the Applebee's sign you think you know what you're getting. In Pikeville things aren't always as they appear... and this is one of those times. Do yourself a favor and go to the McDonalds next door. Yes the Golden Arches is known for poor food served fast and through a window... and that is true here too. In fact this particular McDonalds is worse than average, by far the worst one of the three in town - and it is still better than this Applebee's. read more

My husband and I have been eating at Applebee's since we were dating 20 some years ago. Lately the Applebee's food hasn't been the greatest until we ate the Pikeville location!!! This place took us back to our dating days and the food and service was absolutely perfect!!! The food was so good and the employees were the absolute best!!! Now days workers in the restaurant business aren't the friendliest, especially since covid but this place really took us back to the days when all was great in the world!!! Applebee's review 2.27 and 2.28.13 Intro: we ate here two days in a row due to the lack of choices for gluten free stuff for my sister to eat, as well as a lack of casual dining selection in Pikeville,KY. We were there overnight on a business trip. This review covers both visits. We were greeted and seated promptly and politely. Service notes:Both visits I experienced slow service and pacing of delivery was not very good. I received my salad at the same time my entree came. My mother did as well. I was served by a different waiter each occasion.Some things were forgotten like my sister's sour cream for her loaded mashed potatoes. Food Notes: All of our food tasted great however. Food rating is unchanged from last time. Overall rating: Overall for these two visits I will rate it 3.2 stars due to the food still being good, however the slow service on both visits is the reasoning behind the deducted stars. Arrived at 7:40pm on a Saturday night. Restaurant had three (3) hostesses who informed our party of two there would be a 15-20 min wait. The lobby was packed and people sitting outside. Eight names were on the waitlist; HOWEVER, we counted 14 EMPTY tables NOT including the bar area. We elected to remove our name from the list to go elsewhere. Clearly if you are super unorganized seating your tables, I doubt the food would be a success either. read more

When we were told our "table" was ready we came in and behold they tell us that we would have to separate into two tables that weren't even close to each other. We called in advance to have a group of 40+ of our students (academic team and band members) and staff come in to celebrate the end of the year. Our server took our order prior to our arrival. This sped up our visit and also allowed us to already have our first beverage when we walked in the door. Management even called us prior to our departure to inform us of a power issue that the area was experiencing and kept us updated periodically just to keep our business. This type of family atmosphere is one of many reasons why we will be back next year. I personally would like to thank the entire staff for being very welcoming and accommodating. read more

This is one of the worst Applebee's I've been too. Will cut you off after 4 beers. Draft beer is always more foam than beer?? Most the people that work here are very rude. Management sucks. That's the reason this place is mostly empty when you come in. Been to other Applebee's owned by the same people an they do a much better job. I would stay away. Shame on you! My sister is a cancer patient and has lost her hair ( she had a scarf on her head). Not only the waitter but the manager talked to everyone around us and ignored us the entire time. We waved him down and asked for salad dressing. We waved him down and asked for drink refills. We waved him down to get the check. Horrible, embarrassing experience. Went here for dinner tonight as I am in town for business. The place itself was clean and had a pretty good vibe. I was enjoying the NBA game while sitting in the bar area. The food, I ordered a shrimp salad, was sub par and completely drenched in dressing. Also, took a while to get my food. On the plus side, the Cavs were winning when I left. read more

I visited Applebee's in Pikeville during my lunch hour at work and all I have to say is WOW! It was fantastic my server was super attentive and understanding to my personal preference with my burger and it came out exactly how I wanted it. My drink never ran dry and I couldn't find one thing that I could complain about during my visit. My table was clean, I was sat quickly, and my food was delicious! I'll most certainly be returning to Pikeville Applebee's during lunch or even late at night. read more

Great place to eat if you're traveling and passing through. Perfectly cooked steak, steamed veggies just a bit over done. To me steamed veggies should still have a little bit of a snap. Great bar tending if you just want a drink too. All in all, considering we were just passing through it was a great dinner experience. Highly recommend Applebee's in Pikeville Kentucky! read more

I will not return to Applebee's of Pikeville. I was seated for a table of one and I did not have to wait; being on a Sunday and not having to wait anywhere was a surprise. I sat there for 10 minutes at my table and never saw my server. When a server finally did show up she took the order of the table seated next to mine, and they had just been seated! Then the people at the table begin to pull out punch card coupons and begin asking about how to get a free appetizer! Needless to say was aggravated about this entire situation. I stayed 5 minutes longer and just got up and left, by this time I had given up on ever seeing my server. I went next door to Penn Station which was delicious with excellent service and food. Applebee's just lost a good a good customer that actually tips more than 20% and doesn't bring in punch cards and try to weasel free food. If that is the clientele they cater to then that is fine, I will not return to such a poor customer service establishment. read more

I love Applebee's and eat there often. However, I was very disappointed in the one in Pikeville. After we ordered and ate we were given the bill (not in the usual folder) but when we looked at it we noticed we were overcharged for an item. Rather than asking the manager about it, the waitress stands there and argues with us! How rude! I won't go back and I will tell everyone I know what happened. She eventually talked to the manager and we were given a discount but when she brought our cards back she literally threw them on the table. No tip for service like this. We took our 86 year old Dad, to Applebee's in Pikeville for Father's Day. He picked the place but won't make that mistake again. We were seated at a table for 6, would have been fine if two were kids but we were all adults. Our waitress took our order after we sat there for about 15 minutes. The drinks took a while to arrive and when they did, the waitress didn't know how to pour them. She tried to pour through the tiny hole in the top of the strainer. I felt bad for her because it isn't her fault she has not been trained. We had appetizers then waited forever for our food. There was no air conditioning. When we asked the waitress if they could turn up the a/c, she said they were all dying and something must be wrong with it. When food arrived, only four of us got our food. The sizzling double barrel steaks arrived later. One was supposed to be medium and the other medium rare. NOT SO! We thought we could trade the medium rare to the one who ordered the medium, my brother waited for his to be redone. By the time the waitress came back, my Dad's was more like well done after cutting into it. The waitress said she didn't know if they could redo both steaks. We said that was okay but please don't expect us to pay for them. She took it back. We asked to see the manager. The manager came and we asked her what was taking so long (we had been there almost 1.5 hours) and and why could our food not be prepared as requested and all served at the same time. She told us we hadn't been there that long and began arguing. She said she could go get the ticket from when we sat down. I asked her to please do so. She returned saying it had been 73 minutes since we ordered drinks. We reminded her that was after being seated and waiting for our drink orders to be taken. We tried to be polite telling here we were not there to argue, just there to enjoy a Father's Day dinner but unable to because my dad could not get his steak. She was rude and said she could not do anything about the drinks (no surprise, didn't ask) but she would take off the two steaks, then walked away. As we were leaving, so were the two seated next to us. They had been waiting for their food, never got it, gave up and left. read more

Service was probably the worst I've ever experienced. 30 minutes for a dinner salad. 20 minutes to get the right dressing for that dinner salad, and when the manager finally delivered our meal because our server was too busy with her 1 other table, though the meal was not as ordered... she didn't apologize and didn't crack a smile. Seems like she's not too happy working and managing this place. Go to Steak 'n Shake or even McDonalds... You'll get better service. read more

Visited Mother's day, restaurant was freezing cold most all customers complained.Ordered chicken tortilla soup and wedge salad pretty simple order. Soup was cold not just luke warm but cold asked to have it heated was returned to me half gone but extremely hot. Wedge came next nice looking but no bacon when I pointed this out I was brought out a plate with 1 piece of bacon on it. The other diners with me had an OK experience, Overall the food was just OK nothing to remember or recommend. I have eaten at many Applebees this is the only one I found disappointing. read more
