We were out here visiting from Colorado for a family reunion and decided to have dinner here. The staff was very nice and provided great service. We came on September 21 around 8 PM and the mail bartender had impeccable customer service skills. He saw that we did not have any bread and instead of us bringing it to us attention. He noticed it and asked if we would like and we said yes, and he brought it. Not the manager had a very nice demeanor and checked on our salads. I noticed that he went to the other tables and people sitting around the bar to make sure they were enjoying their meal as well. We had a 12 ounce prime rib with the house salad and a baked potato loaded on the side. The salad was really great and the prime rib was just OK. It had a heavy ham flavor. It wasn't terrible, but I would not order it again. There's not many good choices in Pikeville so if you're traveling through and looking for a decent meal, I'd recommend the Texas roadhouse read more

We then gave the waitress our order, not anything fancy just a 8 Oz steak, house salad and baked potato. They brought the salad and drinks within 30 minutes then the wait began. One hour and 47 minutes later we received our steak and baked potatoes. The steak was honestly so dry and tuff it was not eatable. Told the waitress and she apologized several times, but it's not the falt of a waitress they served bad food, it's the cook for the poor job and management for allowing it. Update: We visited Texas Road House tonight, and unfortunately, our experience was subpar. Contrary to our previous visits, tonight's service and food quality fell very short. Upon seating, our server took our order promptly, but the complimentary rolls didn't arrive until 15 minutes later, only after we requested them. Our food took an astonishing 45 minutes to arrive, and when it did, there were issues. My wife's "6oz steak" was significantly smaller than normal. My "All-American Burger" was lukewarm, with unmelted cheese and an untoasted bun, with a sparing amount of toppings and no pickle spear. After a 45 minute wait, I expected to at least have a patty warm enough to melt the cheese and a toasted bun and all my toppings. I had to wait about 10 more minutes for my server to come by to request mayo that I didn't receive. She brought me one small pack of mayo, so I requested another which she did bring promptly. To make matters worse. I was told my fries (upgraded to cheese fries) were not ready and should be arriving in a few minutes. After my wife and I had both finished our food I still had not received my fries. After the server came by and asked if we needed anything, my wife pointed out I still didn't have my fries and she offered to check on them but I requested that the cheese fries just be taken off my bill as I had not received them and by this time, I was still quite hungry but also quite irritated. She told me she would get her manager to remove them from my tab. The final bill showed a $3.00 discount with my upgraded charge for cheese of 75 cents still being reflected bringing my discounted total to a paltry $2.25. I understand businesses get busy. I understand that it was a Friday evening. I also understand people lose tickets and make mistakes. Working in food service for many years, I am totally sympathetic of that. Our waitress was fantastic -- so personable, kind, and attentive. She took the time to carefully write down our order and really listened to what we wanted. Since it was our first visit, she even had a tray of sample sides sent to our table, which was such a thoughtful touch. This is the coolest Texas Roadhouse I've been to outside of Texas. They have a decent food menu. The food quality is good and the food comes hot --of course you get the warm rolls. What makes it cool is the line dancing. 'Some' Texas Roadhouse servers line dance in addition to the birthday shoutouts. What makes the one cool is their servers line dance because they enjoy it, not because they have to --more than once. Also you can watch the country western videos while you eat. I do get into country music and country rap. The servers appear to be trying, we did have a big crowd of 18 but just confusing for them, we separated the meals for them no organization of taking the orders. We have been to this location before, but not since COVID. I will say that they seem to be doing a good job with social distancing, sanitizing, and enforcing mask wearing. Very bad experience. In town for a funeral. Started off by waiting a half hour for a drink. Food was good. Veggies really undercooked but that's fine. We were eating our meal and then all of a sudden a bug landed on my neck. I quickly flicked it off and it crawled across the table and got on my sister. She then jumped up. The server came over and we told her. She immediately walked away and hurried back with our checks. Why? We were not even finished eating. My sister then walked and found a manager. The manager then told her that "we don't have bugs". While she was talking to the manager, another bug landed on my arm. Then a bug landed on a table next to us. We waited to talk to the manager again and that was her same response. We did not want anything free, don't need a discount. We always seem to have a good time at this restaurant. The food is always good and the service is great considering the business that they do. However the last visits experience had nothing to do with the food but the kindness that this staff showed us. My father in law has a heart monitor on and we have to send data through a box that connects to a certain companies tower. The problem is this box has to be plugged into to power. Not only did they let us use the plug-in but they made sure that we were comfortable while doing this. The plug in was at one of their main stations and they still let my family use it so we could get the data sent even know it put us in their way.
