Hey y'all it's legendary again! Have you had a smashburger yet? How about a smasharue! Darry cheer makes some of the best burgers! Service with a smile is a big deal here! No fancy dressing up going on here, they wear shorts and t shirts. Ambiance....well it's dairy cheer so it's green lolol. Get used to it. So try dairy cheer today and get a Florida breeze drink while you're there you'll love it! Tell 'em legendary sent ya! Love y'all bye now.

Ok if you're from a small town like I am you can truly appreciate this review! After a business trip, the director of my workplace suggested this place based on another person in leadership being from the town and highly reccommending. There were an overwhelming number of options on the menu, so I bet you wouldn't get bored with place. Staff were very friendly, genuine southern hospitality! Food was tasty, milkshake was good, & crushed ice made my day. So if you're in the area or driving through, checkout this place to satisfy a burger/fry or tater to craving!!

This is a longtime go to place in town for dairy bar experience. The best milkshake ever. They are known for the Smashburger. Food cooked perfectly. Homemade onion rings! Covered outside dining. Known for their crushed ice which adds to the fountain cokes and water. Not much to look at but food is worth it. Didn't try the desserts. They have hand dipped ice cream and soft serve. And they have the cheapest self car wash, probably in the country. Go in or drive thru or sit under the covered dining outside and they come take your order. Very good.

Hand dipped or soft serve.

Self explanatory. Their food is always delicious. Gets really busy during lunch hour but it's so worth the wait.

From the moment you walk through the doors on North Front Street, you're greeted with genuine Appalachian hospitality--warm, unpretentious, and welcoming in the best possible way. The food is classic comfort done right. Portions are generous, flavors are bold, and everything tastes like it was made with care rather than rushed out of a kitchen. The home-style cooking is the real star here--savory meats, perfectly cooked sides, and that unmistakable "down-home" flavor that keeps locals coming back and first-timers planning their return before they've even paid the bill. Nothing feels overworked or trendy--just honest, satisfying food that hits the spot every time. The wait staff and service at Billy Ray's is consistently friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The staff treats you like a regular, even if it's your first visit, and that personal touch elevates the entire dining experience. You never feel rushed, and questions about the menu are met with enthusiasm and helpful recommendations. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, making it ideal for families, friends, or a casual lunch stop while passing through town. It's clean, well-kept, and full of local character--exactly what you want in a small-town restaurant. If you're in Prestonsburg and want a meal that's filling, flavorful, and genuinely satisfying, Billy Ray's Restaurant is a must-visit. This is Eastern Kentucky dining at its finest--simple, hearty, and done with heart . Just a shame we couldn't fit in any of the delicious cakes! Next time! Thanks for a wonderful Diner experience.

While on a recent business trip to rural Kentucky, we discovered Brickhouse and ended up eating…read morehere twice. On the first occasion, we were a group of 9 and we ordered appetizers (including the beer cheese with pretzel bots which was super tasty!!) salads and mains. Everyone really enjoyed their meals along with our amazing server. Food quality was very good, like elevated bar food/gastro pub cuisine, with nice touches, such as the goat cheese salad with fried rounds of creamy goat cheese on a generous bed of fresh greens, served with cranberries and slivered almonds and a creamy raspberry dressing. One thing I was a little disappointed with was the brusselsprouts salad. This was recommended by friends and touted as a 'house favorite'. But the brusselsprouts were not fresh, and were overcooked - likely they were canned or frozen then cooked with the bacon and blue cheese. The bacon and blue cheese helped the overall flavor, but as someone who LOVES both the flavor and texture of fresh brusselsprouts fried/ caramelized, I had expected something different. On the second occasion, we ordered lunch to go for 12 people, mostly salads plus desserts. We had been advised to order between 10 am and 11 am the day we wanted take out, which we did, but apparently, so did a bunch of other large groups....so our order which was to be picked up at 11:30 am wasn't ready til 12:40 pm. Even so, food did not disappoint, and everything was nicely seasoned, cooked well and fresh. A couple more things of note: -- Several people ordered the sweet potato fries at dinner and for lunch, and everyone raved at how special they were, especially with the sugary/buttery dipping sauce. I am a little sad I missed out on them! -- During dinner, we were too full for dessert but decided to get it with lunch; I had the chocolate lava cake which was totally decadent; others ordered the lemon berry cake and salted caramel cheesecake - everyone raved the desserts were fantastic! Overall, when dining in, the decor of this historic-house-turned-restaurant is eclectic and inviting. The bar atmosphere, friendly and well versed staff, and great menu beckon you back for future meals. Definitely a special spot in Prestonsburg! And don't forget to get dessert!
