The people here were very nice, and our waiter was extra attentive. Probably because I complained about the rubbery macaroni and cheese I ordered for my daughter. The second batch was no better. I just don't understand how a place like this can make a huge bucket of boxed Mac & cheese then microwave it when ordered. Very disappointing. I'm glad I'm just passing thru. Took an hour to get our food. Waitress was great and very apologetic. Received our steaks that were over cooked, and veggies that were under cooked. The manager knew about our wait time, and knew the food was unacceptable. She came and asked how everything was. We told her how it was and she was very apologetic and offered our meal on the house. We left very satisfied with how they remedied the situation. I would give them a second chance because of the nice management. I am however on my way back home to California. read more

I usually find Applebee's to be predictable and reliable. Not wonderful food but perfectly adequate, especially when we're traveling. However I need to make an exception for this Applebee's. The service was fair and the food quality was poor. My wife and I had the same dish-Cajun shrimp and chicken. The salads we got were actually quite good, but the main dish was not. While my wife's chicken and shrimp were adequate, mine were poorly cooked and difficult to chew. Both of our dishes were supposed to have grilled vegetables, but for both of us that meant a pile of steamed onion with one or two small slices of mushroom. Nothing else. Even our waitress was surprised at this "vegetable medley". They did discount our meal 10% (which we did not ask for), but they've definitely got a problem with the food quality. read more

This place is gross! Had to ask them to wipe the table down and when she did it was with a dirty rag that was soaking wet. It took two full size napkins to dry the table and menus. I rarely come here and when I do its with the idea that they get another chance. It will be a long while yet again. Steer clear. They are 2.5 stars for a reason. read more

I went here with my family for my grandmas birthday and the service was terrible. First I ordered a rainbows strawberry lemonade (same as my grandma) and they gave us regular strawberry lemonade. At first no big deal, they were going to get us our correct drinks. In the mean time we order appetizer and I got the pretzels for me. When the waiter came back he had the other two appetizers we ordered but not mine. In addition still no drink. We ask about the lemonade but not the appetizer since I figure it was still cooking. They said they were getting it ready and took our orders. My dad got the 6 oz sirloin and I ask for the 8 oz. Later they came back and ask if we needed any refills. At this point I was a little upset and ask why both me and my grandmas drinks have not got fix and why my appetizer haven't arrived. The waiter goes to the kitchen to find out about the pretzel and went to the bar for the lemonade. He comes back with the pretzels but not the drink and said they are finishing it up right now. Later the food comes in and they forgot my side of mash potatoes. I did get the correct drink and it turns outs that it is the same thing but with a single stripe of airhead in it. When they came back with the potatoes I notice the my streak look a little small and ask about that since my dads 6 oz look the same. A second person comes out and claims that since my was an 8 oz it had more fat that got soak it but tried to assured me it was a 8 0z. This point I had enough. I pick up my streak and placed on top of my fathers and sure enough they were the same size. My sister said it was not the size of the steak but the thickness that matter. Problem is mine was still thinner. Plus my dad ask for medium well and when he cut his streak, it was so pink and bloody that it looked like a rare streak. Mine thankfully was well done like I asked. After everything the waiter said my meal was covered but even so, I strongly suggest you dine somewhere else. read more

I usually have have a good experience at Applebee's but when my son was injured in a serious motorcycle accident, while he was still in the hospital we decided to bring him steaks to give him a break from hospital food. So we ordered take out. 3 Steaks. They were over cooked, tough, hard to eat, potatoes tasted like they were old...spent around $60 and was greatly disappointed. We were greeted quickly and immediately seated at a clean table, but the chairs were dirty, and I had to stop to clean my seat. Waiter took our order, and after a bit, brought my water. We had ordered bowls of soup and breadsticks along with drinks. Our soup came, but mine was a cup, and not the bowl I ordered. It was also only lukewarm and the chips in the soup were soggy. But the soup was plunked down on the table without comment and the server left as quickly. We waited, no drinks, no breadsticks. (During this time the people across the aisle from us were perturbed because they had their food and drinks, but no one came by to give them silverware.) Finally, we were about done with our soup when our drinks arrived. We were told the breadsticks would be another three minutes as she was taking our bowls away. Half way through the drinks we told them to forget them, paid our bill and left. We will not be back with so many BETTER OPTIONS available ELSEWHERE in Salina. Management has lacked in training and quality control. I need to say that because our waiter had someone shadowing her for training purposes. Ouch. I took a rare day off and wanted to treat myself with a Friday lunch with a cocktail. Heard about the $1 strawberry margaritas and decided to try it. YUCK!!! Strawberry coolaide poured from a pitcher with no hint of tequila...too sweet to drink. They talked me into the 3 course meal special which consists of choice of salad then appetizer and entree. My salad came within 3 mins, great!!! Then spinach artichoke dip and chips halfway through salad then burger w/fries 2 chips into appetizer. Well here it is: after listening through all the drama of every server huddled together for a good 20 mins, my food was mostly cold and very bland. Absolutely nothing would bring me back! They shot me out of there in 30 mins. Was hoping to enjoy a pleasant cocktail and meal on my day off, I did not!
