Having visited the Meddy's in Wichita, I knew what to expect as far as the food, service and ambiance went. Stopped by on the last day of the "soft-opening" to grab a late lunch. The lines were long, but worth the wait. Tried the lamb shawarma with the tabbouleh salad on the side. Complimentary pita bread as well. The place was packed from wall-to-wall, after all it was a free meal. Staff were doing well to keep up with the patrons. The food itself was not bad; but given how busy it was, the quality might have suffered a bit. The shawarma was delicious, however the same could not be said of the salad. It felt lacking in flavor and seemed a bit too citrusy at times. I will definitely return once the hype has died down and hopefully it'll be a bit more relaxed, and the food might have a chance to shine like it has in the past... read more

The atmosphere was great. You went and ordered kinda like fast food. Paid first and then had it brought to you. We got to go and the containers and silverware were actually sturdy (can't say that about everywhere else). Food was great. Wouldn't recommend to people who don't like mediterranean food. Man, I really wanted to like this place. Salina - such a cute town in the middle of I70 Kansas, and I love supporting all the good investment in infrastructure improvements here. Meddys. The gals at Starbucks across the street said most people in town are unfamiliar with Mediterranean cuisine, so we went in to support, being huge fans of Med fare. Unfortunately, we were left disappointed. The good: *nice, clean place, hip ambiance with covered patio and outdoor fireplace *inviting location * decent menu options * appreciated their GF options The meh: - I just kept stumbling over the lack of flavor in a number of their dishes *shockingly flavorless baba ghanoush - normally my favorite - but almost had a soapy note to it * pita chips - again no flavor *lentil soup which they glowed over how it's their most popular (?!) ... I could detect few spices that typically carry this traditional med dish * both the hummus and eggplant soup were decent, so I want to give them that read more

Did take out. Ordered Swimming Shawarma Marinated salmon with herbs and spices grilled to perfection served in a pita with lettuce, cucumber, tomato and tzatziki. The salmon was cooked perfectly. My husband and I went to Meddys soft opening. We were very impressed with the food selection and had a hard time deciding. I chose the Lentil soup with the beef sharma a sandwich in pita bread it was very good. My husband had the chicken with garlic potatoes and vegetables. We enjoyed our meal very much. We will return and try other entrees . The wait staff was amazing and was very attentive. The complementary pita bread and olive oil and balsamic vinegar was very good. We will be back. read more
