Where do I start? I walk in on a Friday to have a nice meal with my boyfriend to become St Clairsville Applebee's next unsuspecting victim. At first, it was going well. No wait, drinks right away, nice service, they had it all. However, that brief moment of joy and happiness was a disguise didn't compare for what was to come next. We ordered the 2 for 25 (which wasn't worth it considering I paid almost 50 in the end). Yes, I'm aware that when you order better food, it cost more, but it was FAR from worth it. I got salmon, broccoli, and fries, which wasn't horrible, but I assure you it wasn't good. Then, my sweet boyfriend ordered a steak. However, when they showed up, there was a brick disguised as a steak sitting on his place. It was overcooked, fatty, and not to mention it was so tough you could barely cut it with a knife. It was so bad it was comical. So, after we only saw our waitress twice and couldn't even rip the steak apart with our bare hands even if we tried, we paid and fled. However, our adventure didn't end there. We both felt sick after eating there, which is a concern. So if anyone is looking for a nice meal, the first step is crossing Applebee's off your list. read more

Not a bad Applebee's located near the PA border. It's in a area highly dense with shopping centers and restaurants..so lots of options, and unfortunately Applebees isn't one of the better ones. There's nothing wrong with this location per say..tho it's a bit outdated..and the service wasn't really the friendliest (not unfriendly either tho, just kind of indifferent). The food was your normal Applebees food, it didn't taste any better or worse. They'll probably be safe at this location because of the name recognition, and people just feel like having Applebees from time to time. But I feel if they don't work on updating the place and bring on a bit more of a lively staff..it could eventually cost them the location. read more

This has to be my favorite Applebee's I have ever visited. I am always satisfied with the service and quality of the food. The 3 cheese chicken penne is on my list if must-haves but now the 4 cheese mac and cheese with honey pepper chicken is edging into my list. This location usually fills up close to 6pm and stays fairly busy until around 9pm so some planning is required if you want to get right in during those times. My go to servers are Chris and Donna but any server is fine. Things to try: brew pub pretzels, wonton chicken tacos, 4 cheese mac and cheese with honey pepper chicken, and salted caramel pretzel bites. read more

Place is generally clean but with all the people there, you wouldn't notice if it wasn't spotless! Definitely one of the best Applebees I've ever been to, and trust me, I get around! read more

Honestly, every time I go to Applebee's it's worse than the previous time. We went this time because we had a gift card. I feel like every time I come back something that was good on the menu was gone. Sweet potato fries and dips (gone), Guinness chicken and potatoes (gone), fried green beans (gone)... Other than the spinach and artichoke dip the appetizers are a waste. I got the chicken parmesan, which was basically some fried chicken, canned pasta sauce, and limp noodles thrown on a plate. My fiancee got the steak which was surprisingly small for the price. It came with roasted potatoes which were overdone and flavorless. The garlic bread had 0 garlic flavor; it tasted more like fried fair dough. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly which was the only saving grace. The waitress for the booth behind ours spent the whole time leaning against our booth and yaking loudly with her apparent old high school friends. I hope she didn't have any other customers because they weren't getting service. Overall I would say this was my last trip to Applebee's. read more

Haven't been to Applebees in years, tried to go tonight, I'll NEVER come back. We came in for a 2 top, was told a 45 minute wait, 16 minutes later we were texted that our table was ready. We came in 9 minutes later only to find we'd been skipped. While the text gave us an option to cancel it did NOT give us an option to confirm and frankly we were told it would be 45 minutes and to be skipped 26 minutes later was enough to push me away. But you all are obviously satisfied without our patronage so we all win read more

The waitress Crystal was awesome! And super nice, the only worker I seen smile. The chefs were AWFUL! They were very ignorant about the food they messed up, I asked for a medium well steak and the second I touched my steaks seeped out blood. Worst meal I've had out in a long time! My friend had to send her food back twice ! And it was freaking pasta. Overall though, it wasn't awful but not even close to being the best. If the waitress wouldn't have been so nice probably would've been my worst experience here ever. read more

Tonight we celebrated my nephews birthday at Applebee's per his request. We were sat at a back table by the restrooms. Upon entering I noticed a blue haired young lady (dressed in street clothes, short shorts, flip flops, T-shirt) sitting at what I would refer to as the "employees table". Working in the industry there is always a spot where workers go to roll silver or take break. This was of no disturbance to us until she was joined by other workers (long hair, glasses, I am assuming pregnant) who decided that the word fuck would be a great word to use as a filler every other word. Mind you my nephew turned 7 today and we had his 18 month old brother with us. The baby spilled a glass of water to which to blue haired young lady found to be quite comical. Instead of asking if we were ok she cackled with two other workers. I then noticed the blue haired flip flop off duty waitress making frequent trips in to the kitchen. I was not aware that they made slip proof flip flops, or that open toes were a sanitary option for the cook staff or any staff member in the vacinity. Over the course of our meal we got to hear how "fucked up" the place is ran and that "in three years I have never had to deal with such shit" (statement made by the long haired waitress above. I understand that working in the industry can be difficult, but there is a time and place. I was even further surprised to hear the manager (dark haired woman dressed business casual) and the bus boy mocking customers and saying "we don't care go to Outback" Loud enough for the entire section where we were seated to hear. Aside from the snide comments, when our waitress (who was amazing) asked from inside the kitchen to have people help sing to my nephew, the long haired woman referenced above starting screaming "NO EVERYBODY BETTER GET OUT HERE IM NOT THE ONLY ONE SINGING" she screamed this standing probably 5 steps away from our table. How incredibly rude and disrespectful. Again, I get it the birthday song can be not such a great perk of the job. But, when a 7 year old boy requests to go to Applebee's because he loves it, he needs to be treated a certain way. I am not sure if the management staff and wait staff at that location need a refresher on the professional manners that should be exhibited while on duty, but had it not been for the very sweet and attentive waitress we had, it would be the last time we would be celebrating any birthday there. read more

I don't like leaving negative reviews but this place was so bad I feel I have to warn you! Try 20 minutes for a drink and then getting the wrong drink and waiting another 10 for the replacement. Rotten potatoes on my plate, green avocado, and under cooked potatoes. I'll never be back!!! It's too bad because Applebee's used to really be a great place to go. My husband and I went in for an early dinner around 3:00. It took about 5 minutes before anyone said hello to us despite a few waiters/waitresses walking by. They greeted us kindly and sat us down. The table was clean but one of the bench seats had a large tear in it with the stuffing poking out. We had a male waiter he was nice and kept up with our drinks accordingly and even made sure to warn us about hot plates. The food wasn't impressionable. The husband got Fiesta Lime Chicken and he enjoyed it, no complaints. I got the Four-Cheese Mac and Cheese Chipotle honey chicken. It was fairly good but it was filling and didn't settle as well with me as I hoped. The mozzarella sticks we got were good but the marinara needs improvement. Prices are good here especially the 2 for $20/25/30 deal. read more

The food was great! The only complaint I have is the drinks. There are two red headed ladies working there and I ordered a Blue Hawaiian Long Island Iced Tea. It was disgusting. I don't know what kind of pineapple juice she was using, but that drink was bitter and tart. The lady sitting next to me ordered the same drink and she hated it too. I have had this same drink at the Akron Applebees on Arlington Rd and it was amazing. I think their bartenders need to pay attention to detail and learn how to make tasty drinks. read more

Waited 10-15 minutes to be waited on for drinks then another 20-25 for the waitress to take our dinner order. When food came, none of it was even hot and my chicken had a long brown hair on it. Manager seemed annoyed when we spoke to her about our experience. Definitely will not be back to this location. read more
