The 3 of us ordered salmon with a bourbon BBQ glaze. It came with broccoli and rice. The salmon was overcooked and the glaze was all over the plate. The rice and broccoli was swimming in the glaze and therefore tasted like it. We also order zucchini planks. They were well presented but were way too salty and I like salt! It was noisy as happy hour was going on. We had hope to be in the dining area which has an outdoor dining area. Our server was efficient and very nice. Choose another place! Ambiance is five star for sports fans yes. Place was freezing inside, most of us ate with our coats on. Service? Well our waitress was funny and seemed adorable. Let me first say that I'm giving 5 stars based on what this place is - a bar and grill. But what a huge surprise this place was. There aren't a lot of great review s for this area. Additionally, the volume of reviews is rather low. So we were shooting from the hip. We happened to stumble in on a Tuesday evening and quickly found out that the special for Tuesday is $1.50 domestic drafts and $10.99 strip steak dinner. We started with the fried pickles - excellent. The other 4 had the steak and they were all big fans. I went with the ribs and tenders combo. Ribs, contrary to popular belief, should not fall off the bone. They should be tender, but still need to be bitten off the bone. These ribs were excellent!! After all was said and done - 2 apps, 3 22oz. beers, 4 steak dinners, one rib and chicken dinner - $87. Can't beat that!! Service was excellent! We had a young man named Derek who was charming, attentive, and helpful. Tons of tv's. Huge 100+ inch projection screen. Pretty old-feeling. Most of the places in Wheeling are bars. We had a party of 13 people coming - we were able to sit immediately. Only seemed to be one waiter who was working extremely hard. Food did take a long time and most of it was cold. Forget any review prior to this one, as this place is operating with a completely new menu from the alpha. I just had "The Jones", which is perhaps the best buffalo chicken wrap (in a pita, actually) that I have had. My wife had a Mediterranean salad which she said was fantastic. I'm surprised no one has reviewed this place yet. It's a solid, run of the mill sports bar. It gets its 4th star for its specials, which are great. Every day has something different and they also have happy hour every day-way too many deals to type out :-) But today, for example (weds), they have 16 oz drafts for $1 from 6-9 and 1/2 off apps, well drinks, and drafts from 4-7. Let me start by saying I am local. Tonight made my 4th (and last) visit...I am writing my review from this evenings experience....but I will say the other two visits were not much different. I called yesterday and made a reservation for 8 on the deck...in front of the fireplace...and asked for a fire...it was 52 degrees at our reservation time. We all arrived at about the same time....and found out that the fireplace does not work...this should have been told to me yesterday. The man who sat us inside and helped ready our tables did ask me who I spoke with...but did not apologize. The server started off asking what I wanted to drink...I asked for coffee and several of the other people in my party said they would also like coffee....ummm...they don't have coffee...at least on Monday and Tuesday as they don't have a coffee pot (really....really...really!!!), they use Stratford Springs (neighboring restaurant) but they are closed on Monday and Tuesday....ummmm....someone asked for hot tea.....no go....(ugh...really!!!)!! I felt bad for the server as he was not familiar with the menu as he normally worked at Stratford Springs....I ordered a BLT with egg and several others ordered sandwiches also. A few minutes later the waiter came out and told me he had bad news....they didn't have eggs (ugh...really!!)...I told him that was OK.....then he came out and told us the sandwiches we ordered comes with french fries and coleslaw.....but they did not have cole slaw (umm...really!) so we could substitute applesauce or a salad. All but one of us got the salad and one got the applesauce. The salads and applesauce came out...the applesauce was in a single serve plastic container with a pull off top (imagine a Motts kids lunchbox size applesauce)...ok...I am not kidding...can I give a 1/2 star? So...with all of this...would you expect the manager to come out...and apologize...explain...or even ask if everything was alright? I did....but guess what....no manager ever came by. There was only one other table there and one or two people in the bar. I did not ask to speak to a manager as it was appparent that they had no concern for customer service. On a positive note..with all the TV's I could see the Penguins playing/Cleveland Cavs getting their championship rings and raise their banner and the World Series pre-game show. read more

My GF and I stopped in for a couple of beers before heading to a wedding reception.. There were a least 10 other people who attended the wedding at the bar as well talking amongst each other and waiting to get the bartender's attention.. The Bartender (a shorter young girl) was zoned out watching a TV at the other end of the bar, so I yelled and waved to get her attention and she finally broke away from the tv and came over. Been here several times now, and its hit and miss for a really good experience. It hasn't ever been bad though. Some servers/bartenders are more attentive than others, but for a sports bar most don't understand how to get desired sporting events on various TV's. Liquor prices are a little higher than average here, but beer prices aren't bad. As for the food it is above average but nothing to get overly excited to have. This place used to be great and packed every weekend. Now, they don't clean their tap lines, they have a horrible bottle selection, and the employees have no idea what the are doing. I went to the bar and asked if they had any IPAs, because they mostly had bud, bud light, coors light, etc. the bartender gave me a blank stare. I said do you know what an IPA is? She said no, does it have another name? I'm sorry, but any bartender should know what an IPA is. I told her that it was an India Pale Ale and she said, excitedly, ooh we have that! She proceeded to bring me a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. I explained the difference, and took it, because it was definitely the best beer they had. I did not have any food this trip so I can't speak to that. It used to be good, but so did the bar. The one saving grace was the deejay, Kaz, and karaoke. Came to this bar and restaurant while visiting Oglebay Festival of Lights. There wasn't too many people here, but we did come at 4pm on a Monday. Everything was great. Our server was nice, the decorations were fun, and the food was delicious!!! We got a chicken sandwich, fries, coleslaw, wings, fried pickles, and one drink for only $24!!! Very unorganized...service sucks. We haven't been back here for about 5 years...and now I know why. This place used to be awesome after it first opened. Now, the staff acts as if they are annoyed/bothered to have to do their JOB by serving customers. They need to get bartenders like they used to have because those girls were fun to talk to and were on top of things! The ones there now act like you should just throw tips at them for standing there on their phones. It would also help if the red headed cook wasn't high the whole time he is working.
