Normal nice Applebee's. Decent food and drinks. Easy when you don't want to search for a local mom and pop option.

Service was pretty slow. Food was okay. Not the best, not the worst. I suggest striving to be better so people want to come back.

Currently sitting with my family at this Applebee's. 20 minutes here with 3 kids and not even a drink order yet. The couple behind us just had to return a steak for being too rare. 35 min in to our dining "experience" and we received our drinks. Well, all but one of us. Which took another 10 min to get her water. Already not looking forward to our appetizers...if/when they show up. 50 min now, but I must admit, the boneless wings were pretty good and the shredded brisket nachos were great. Now onto the main course. Just over an hour here and we receive our meals. All looks pretty good. Prepare to eat and realize....no silverware.. and 2 meals show up 10 min after the first. Most were content enough with their food that they didnt complain, but offered no praise at all. My wife unfortunately, who received her meal last, on her birthday, had cold and stale rice. How can you get old rice when you were served 10 min after everyone else? The waitress was ok. Not much of a personality and was a little condescending to my mother in law, but she did her job. Was a busy Friday night and they just didnt seem well prepared for it. We will go back eventually. But maybe on a Wednesday next time. read more

I honestly don't like the service here or the food. The service is so slow and the food you get is not at all comparative to the price you pay. If you are looking for a place to eat, there are many more options in the Sturgis area that I think you will find to be a better option than Applebee's. I will try here again in a few months and change my rate accordingly. read more

If you like salt, you'll like this place. The foods are so salty! The service has improved over the years and the environment is typical for this chain. And, unless it's just me, the portions have gotten smaller and the prices keep creeping up. Much like everywhere else I suppose. read more

I am reviewing the Carside-to-Go for this particular restaurant. Each time I have used it, I have had to call the restaurant to let them know I'm in the parking lot 15 to 20 minutes after my pick up time, and then wait another 10 minutes for them to mosey out. Last night was no exception, and will be the last time I visit this restaurant. I waited, made my call, waited 15 more minutes with a total wait time of 45 minutes after my pickup time, only to receive 3 ice cold dinners. Carside-to-Go is not their forté and I'd avoid it at all costs if I were you. read more

Just so everyone knows, everything you order from here is microwaved. I got this info directly from a Health Department employee. So, if you feel like spending $60 on a microwave TV dinner, knock yourself out! I choose to pass. read more

I would suggest checking your order before you leave if you get carry out. We ordered the same meal in the restaurant a few months earlier and loved it. I ordered 3 take outs and was disappointed. The one order was even missing the the shrimp on the chicken. read more

Very good! On Friday nights, the place can be packed... But we had great service nonetheless, and all of us in family have been happy with our food. Once, a steak was too tough, and management took care of us more than satisfactorily. read more

After my decent review previously, me and my wife decided to get food to to. WORST MISTAKE EVER! I ordered a cowboy burger and it comes with fried onion straws on top of the burger and obviously whoever fried them overloaded the fryer basket because there was a a HUGE mound of soggy under cooked onions atop my burger. The burger comes with bacon and there was none on my burger. The worst offense was that the burger(s) was actually two smaller burgers glued together by cheese in a horrible attempt to pass for a legit buger. Always great service even if the food is your typical frozen chain restaurant food. It's nothing fancy but overall it's worth 4 stars given the area and lack of competition. read more

Thursday night the place was poppin, friendly service at the bar, Jesse, and great food and drinks! Had a great experience.

The management has changed for the better recently. Overall, this Applebees is on the rise.

Waitress was nice, but not very knowledgeable about the menu and getting order correct. I ordered a peach iced tea with fruit. She brought out flavored ice tea. But she did re-make it the correct way using hard, unripened fruit. I also ordered a bowl of Mac and cheese. I asked if it came with bacon, she said no and brought me out a bowl with bacon topped with chicken. She tried telling me that wasn't bacon. Tonite I had a steak that tasted like a hot dog that was grilled over a campfire. I came to have steak and I pretty much had a hot dog that I could of made myself. On the other hand,I had an amazing artichoke dip filled portabella mushroom that I highly recommend. It was cooked just right and I also ha some amazing red potatoes. My husband and i went there last night ordered a steak medium well and it came out bloody we sent it back and again came out bloody so they offered us to high ave a complete new steak and we said ok that steak also came out bloody twice finally the 3rd time they got it rite and they told us that they would take 50% off our bill for our trouble then when we got the bill they charged us for the second steak they offered and then took 50% off our bill so really we didnt get a deal and it took probably an hour to actually get to eat read more

This Applebee's is going downhill and it's going downhill fast. My parents and I used to come to this restaurant all the time for hot really good quality meals because it was the only place to go here in sturgis. However I don't think this place is going to last with all the new places going up. The food always sucks The past year I've gone here when I'm back in the area on lunch dates, dinners or half off apps with friends the food always sucks. It's cold, it doesn't look right (spinach dip looks like runny puke), it's over salted or they overcook it. Go an hour up to kalamazoo and the quality goes up. food is hot and the cook actually know how to cook. You would think being a chain hey would all be same? You're wrong. Better off going to wing ect. Or buffalo wild wings if you wanna burn 40$ on 2 people. probably will get a way better meal anyway. Even culvers offers WAY better quality food. Absolutely hands down the worst restaurant I have ever been to. I have given them countless chances and it is always horrible. 3 of the five times I was there the service was HORRIBLE, as in worst I've ever had. The next time the food was undercooked and the service was also awful again. The fifth time I was there it was just bad service. So finally I decided, you know what, I'll place an order online since they can't seem to provide good service; WRONG. I picked up my burger and got back to work only to find a long hair strung in it. I have been eating at this Applebee's for about a year now. I always order a double shot Vodka drink and only one bartender can make them almost correctly. It's not rocket science. 3 parts vodka, one part lime juice. They charge almost $10.00. Tonight not even a slight buzz and I had 2. May as well have drank a coke. I can make one at home with 1 shot and I'm totally feeling it. When I say a double, I expect a double shot. Apparently their idea of a double is 2 tablespoons I guess. read more

Horrible, horrible experience. We were seated right away, but waited 15 minutes and finally flagged our server to come take our drink order. She gave some lame excuse about being busy (1/3 of the tables in her station were empty) and having to train a new employee. We gave our food order at the same time we ordered drinks. Food was AWFUL, customer service was even worse. For $64, we could have eaten like kings at home. Not even sure if a manager was on duty, as they didn't seem to be walking around chatting with the customers about their dining experience. Will never be back. read more

I had previously left a bad review from a visit a year or so ago. We went again today and the difference was remarkable! Our server Jon was friendly and funny with just the right degree of attentiveness. My mother-in-law and I ordered the fish and chips and it was delicious. I especially liked my salad, the toppings were very good. My husband had the bourbon burger and onion rings. He said his burger was cooked just right and the onion rings were very good too. We will definitely go back now that they seem to have improved so much. Thanks Applebees for a pleasant lunch! read more

They are always so slow here! It would make a big difference if servers let you know they are running behind on 3 tables in the house.
