First time here, looked around to try local fare, decided on this place because it was a pub and restaurant, which also happened to be a golf course and beer garden. Had a good rib eye steak and my friend ordered the tilapia which was a known dish here. Both were delicious. Had cheesecake and chili plate fudge cake, spinach salad. A solidly average supper club style restaurant serving the Lake James community. While the food and drinks may not "wow" you, you'll get a decent meal for a reasonable price. I started with a drink from their signature menu, a Knobby Old Fashioned, so named for using Knob Creek whiskey. The blend of muddled orange and cherry with the whiskey and dash of bitters was fine--my only critique is that such a drink should be served with a large chunk of ice, not regular cubes from the ice machine. Too much dilution too fast and the flavor is gone before a quarter of the drink has been consumed. For my entree I had Parmesan crusted cod. The fish was cooked well and the flavor was spot on. Generic out of the box fries were okay. I liked the "tartar" sauce served on the side--tangy with a garlicky kick. Finally, we were a group of nine and they gladly and accurately provided separate checks for each couple and individual. All in all a positive experience. read more

Regular customer after Monday night golf league all summer! Always great service and atmosphere! Great price for what is served in the restaurant or when I get takeout! I recommend when you get a chance and try the Muligan's Signature Salad with blackened chicken... you WILL NOT be disappointed! We had dinner at Mulligan's while visiting friends. It was a very nice meal. I had the crab cakes, which were very good. I cannot remember what everyone else had, but everyone was pleased with their meals. Wine pours are generous, but I'd probably stick to the wine list. Service was friendly. read more

The covered deck was very nice and there was going to be live music by Tara Rene Accoustic so we were anticipating good things. I've had the spinach salad before which was very good. This time I ordered the hand-breaded tenderloin with a side of fries. I was disappointed since the $14 price didn't match the portion size. The sandwich was small. It was good and the serving of fries was maybe the size of a cup. The food was good but really hit the $14 mark. What the best part of the dining experience was: the service. Those girls worked so hard and were friendly that this is one reason to return. Maybe a larger serving of fries and tenderloin could equal the price someday. read more

Hubby tried their Tuna dinner - excellent preparation and presentation- sides chosen were soup of the day and baked potato. He enjoyed it all. I tried the Parmesan Cod - delicious! My sides were garden salad and baked potato. Salad was delightful and fresh - potato just as expected. Loved the fact that they serve appropriate portions, without making dinners so large you have to take a go box. And appropriate portions meant reasonable prices. Win! when traveling we like to go to local places. usually we have a great experience. not this time. Once seated we ordered drinks and an appetizer. took 15minutes to get our drinks. They were not very busy maybe 5 other tables. took another 15 fo our app, we ordered crab stuffed mushrooms.... mistake. we received 4 small mushrooms for $12.... we finally received our soup and salad. and then 10 minutes later put entrees. .y husbands pasta had uncooked pasta in it. my shrimp was over fried. We barely saw our waitress and had empty glasses on our table the entire time. we waited 30 minutes one time without seeing her. Asked to speak to mgr and he could gave cared less. gave us a small discount but was very rude about it. read more

Stopped in on a Saturday around 7pm. I originally wanted Caruso's but they're close for the week so we drove down here. I ordered the salmon blackened, with the pilaf and salad. About 30 mins after ordering I was informed that they were out of salmon (right at the beginning of dinner, on a Saturday). So I got coconut shrimp instead. My friend had the porter house steak. Both were very subpar. The steak was very well done and flavorless. I also ordered a grilled cheese for my 9 yo niece and they sent it out as toast with about 4 slices of cold cheese. read more

On 1/7/23 my wife and I were seated and after 10 minutes were never acknowledged. In fact a party was seated after us and the waitress swoomed all over them and was quick with getting their order. so we got up and left without even getting wate. so I would highly recommend not going here but drive a few minutes more to BREWSKIS we're even though they were busy we were acknowledged and treated wonderfull. great service great food and extremely hard working friendly and happy customers and workers read more

My search of Yelp said there was a salad bar. Alas, no salad bar but they have a lot of choices. I opted for a spinach bacon salad. Instead of the normal far I ask for the raw tuna with wasabi and ginger on the side. The restaurant is on the 18 hole and butted up to Lake James on the North side of Angola. The service was accommodating, friendly, and refreshing. I went on a Thursday night, but I'm told Friday and Saturday are busy during 'the season', but they're open all year. Christina and Alexas were great! I would eat here again and might try to get back for a mid summer Friday night with live entertainment! read more

The food was mediocre and didn't taste fresh or homemade. We got the artichoke dip that had been clearly over microwaves, dry at the edges, and with the spoon, they used to stir it up. It was served with Scoops that are store-bought. They charged $10.00 for the dip. Entrees were not much better. Frozen and reheated. The staff was friendly and service was good but the quality of the food was not good for the prices they charged. Disappointed. read more

I'm at vacation at Crooked Lake near Angola and ate at Mulligan's in the golf course. Lots of fish options, hot bacon spinach salad, and fantastic cocktails. My "pouring rain" was so delicious I could have licked the glass. I ordered Alaskan Pollack and it came with 2 sides. Everyone in my party said their individual dinners were outstanding. Called for a reservation for twelve ladies at noon the day before. We arrived around 11:45 AM and our table was set and waiting for us. We were promptly served our drinks and orders were taken. The food came out fairly quickly and we were all satisfied. Some had the Turkey Ruben and it had coleslaw in place of the sauerkraut which some didn't realize when ordering. Some had cob salad and others had the Oriental Chicken Salad including me! The salad was beyond delicious. The dressing was on the side and the presentation was right on and the size was perfect for lunch. The waitress was new but was very friendly and attentive. Hmm, the first person to review this place. I wonder why. It is pretty easy to find. The service was excellent. The view of the golf course was pretty. Finally the food was good and not too expensive. If you tell them you saw their ad at the Inn at Pokagon State Park, they take five dollars off your bill. If that is not "as good as it gets" I don't know what is. We ordered the Grouper, fried Lake Perch, and the super duper burger . No complaints from any of us. A full service bar with a potent Cosmos for the wife and she was quiet the rest of the way back to the Inn. Excellent! For those of you that like iced tea, they brew theirs right on the premises--none of the fountain mix stuff. My son who drinks diet cola like there is no tomorrow, quickly got his own pitcher. Stopped in for lunch recently and enjoyed the experience. The burgers were delicious, a good size, and a decent price. We ate in the bar area and enjoyed the view of the golf course. This may be a good restaurant, just not the day we visited. Our experience was pretty bad. First, the waitress wasn't meant to be a waitress as she forgot just about everything through the meal. We think she forgot to place our order as it took forever to get served. Once we got the food it was even more disappointing.
