The Cajun Salmon was positively very delicious; it was flavorful and not overly spicy. Broccoli becomes available again in November. Instead, there was sautéed squash. The garlicky mashed potatoes tasted yummy homemade. I had the fish and chips and really enjoyed the creamy cole slaw; oh my, when I saw the salmon delivered, I wished I'd ordered that. Then the cheeseburger, huge salad, and cheese sandwiches were delivered to my other friends and I had to laugh, because everything looked really good. Not only was the food delicious. The staff were very helpful. When we asked, after the check had come, if they could split the check for the 5 of us, they graciously did a check for each of the couples and for the 5th guest in our party. We hadn't seen each other in a couple years and never felt pressure to vacate our table. A senior hostess visited our table and spent some time talking and reminiscing with us, as many of us had grown up nearby. We felt welcomed and seen. Ambiance: lotsa parking on site and there's a traffic light at the entrance of the group of stores and restaurants. This restaurant is off a heavily trafficked road, so you know the importance of a traffic light to small and local businesses. I wish the chain carried Thousand Island dressing, as I would have had a salad instead of my fries. I would have ordered regular lemonade instead of just drinking ice water. (They have fancy lemonade with cool flavors that my friends really enjoyed). Neither of those are deal breakers, though. read more

To me, Applebee's belongs in a category I call "gourmet burgers": a step up from fast food joints, with a longer menu, but you can still get somewhat tastier burger (or something more upscale) for a few bucks more. White Spot, Fogg 'n Sudds, and Red Robin fall into the same class for me. But, in the case of Applebee's (or at least this location: I've never been to any other), the price increase is significantly higher than the quality increase. And, on top of that, there seems to be this attitude that you should be deliriously happy to be in an Applebee's at all. Dudes, it's just a restaurant. It's not Disneyland. The food is okay. The decor isn't bad. The service varies from okay to lousy. Some of the menu items promise an experience that the kitchen can't actually deliver. But the prices are premium. I'd give it another star for the food quality if they didn't charge so much for it. But I can get better burgers for less from Sheetz, and Sheetz doesn't act like they're doing me a favour just letting me into the place. read more

All you can eat shrimp? 6 shrimp a plate. The staff are absolutely terrible. They look over customer's shoulders to read their texts at their ordering computer. They also put all of the hot plates right in front of my one year old, and immediately walked away, while my wife and I scrambled to hold her hands back, and scoot the plates over by the TWO EMPTY SEATS. I finished my meal, half my wife's meal and even some of my daughters kraft before he came back to see how things were. I asked for more shrimp.. got six more and 3/4 a plate of fries. My boyfriend and I used to love coming to Applebee's to eat. Now we cannot stand it. The last time we went there, i got the 4 cheese mac n cheese with honey pepper chicken fingers and he got the loaded fajita skillet. My noodles were so undercooked and my chicken was way over cooked. the steak for his fajita skillet was literally so bloody and red that he couldn't eat it. So i got the apple fritter for dessert and that thing was BURNT-- like bite into it and taste how over cooked it was. I keep telling myself i will not be back but since it's such a small town and really no dine in places are in this town-- it's hard not to come back when we have a day we don't feel like cooking. read more

Wow! Just got back from Applebee's Veteran Meal. Food was great, service was not. Veterans were delegated to the bar area. Booths and tables are for paying customers. It was painful to watch 2 different disabled Vets struggle to get up and down the step to get to their table. The host will never be accused of being friendly. The Staff was milling about the register near the bar complaining that the Veterans were just there for the free meal and referring to us as "Freeloaders". Does not look good on the company. If the staff didn't want us there, just say so. I know that I usually tip well every year when I come to Appleebee's Veteran's Day meal. This year not so much. I left the $5 gift card on the table when I left. If I, a Veteran, isn't welcome on Veteran's Day; I am not welcome any other day. read more

Pretty much like any other Applebee's in the chain. The food is fairly decent, the place is clean and the service is very good. The only difference I can see between this particular Applebee's and any other is that the background music is horribly out of date (Duran Duran) and the cocktail of the day, called a "Beer Slammer," turned out to be nothing but a big bottle of Budweiser. read more

It's an Applebee's. The wait staff apparently knew my stepfather so we got somewhat "special" treatment. I haven't lived in Warren in over 10 years, so I don't know too many people. They seemed friendly enough. Food was standard. Service was prompt. The manager seemed nice. I guess at one point in time, there was some sort of incident that my stepfather had there at the bar; he didn't go back for a while, but came back to meet my sister and I before I left to go back home after the holidays...I'm unclear of the situation but the manager did come over and address it and seemed to have solved it. Came for a lunch as it was raining and close to hotel. Normally I try to avoid the chain restaurants but didn't want to venture to far. I should have ventured. Pasta came out cold. I don't mean like warm, but ice cold!!! I took one bite and spit it out. I was at the bar and they took it back right away. Bartender came back and said the meal would be comped. Every single time I go here something makes me so upset that I tell myself I'm never going back. The service is not great. Not friendly, but tolerant of customers. ( fake) I rarely ever complain when I go out to eat or I try not to, but I did this time and barely got an apology. I generally find Applebees as a Neighborhood friendly place. I was travelling thru Warren and made my first trip to this Applebees. Bad choice the food was good as usual service was horrible! The bar manager was not friendly at all and he did not speak to you unless spoken to. He would stand in front of you and wait for your order rather than ask if you ready. Then Tammy was to busy complaining to two guys about customets using cell phones in there. A woman came in to buy gift card and waited anout 15 minutes while 3 others stood in corner at register and did nothing. I paid bill she gave me my change and i said thank you she remainded silent. I have NEVER been treated the way I was tonight! Applebee's offers a GLUTEN FREE menu which is the only reason we went there. However the staff is very uneducated! The manager couldn't care less. The staff is very unprofessional. You do not feel welcome the minute you walk in. I ordered the Fiesta Lime Chicken without the tortilla strips. I have ordered it many times in the past 3 years since being diagnosed with celiac disease. I notify our server I was Gluten Free and therefore was ordering my dinner WITHOUT the tortilla strips. Well... it was then served to me with the strips. I cut into my chicken as to "mark it". I mentioned the problem to the server. She took my plate back only to return with it again and told me that they were GF. I nicely informed her that they are deep fried in the same oil that they deep fry other breaded items in. Therefore the strips would be contaminated. She asked if I just wanted to take the tortilla strips off... I said no the chicken is now cross contaminated with gluten as the chicken was served on top of the tortilla strips. Several minutes later she returns with the same plate without the strips and the SAME CHICKEN and the cut mark I had put in it!!! THIS IS SERIOUS! This is a real disease with real life threatening consequences!! My boyfriend told the manager. He brought me a plate to put my contaminated chicken on to take it back to the kitchen (for it's third trip!) He clearly had no clue! Even the management was uneducated!! Meanwhile the waitresses all stared at me whispering.The whole experience was truly horrible. Life is hard enough living with a disease. I stop here often for lunch. It s like most Applebee's restaurants. I like the new remodel that includes large pictures of local attractions in the area. The lunch menu is wonderful. I love the tomato basil soup and get it often. Service is good and meals come out quickly which is important when you are on lunch break. Taste and quality of food is consistent which I like in a restaurant. I don t want my meal to depend on who is cooking that day. read more
