Once again a fabulous experience!! Anniversary dinner at Stella, I had the Seafood Imperial and my wife the Crab Stuffed Haddock with Lobster reduction. It was our first time visiting the Chautauqua Lake region for our five-year anniversary and my wife booked this place for our special dinner on a Saturday. We arrived a little early and grabbed a seat at the bar and enjoyed some Apperol Spritz's. A very nice gentleman that we were chatting with ended up secretly buying our drinks for us which was a lovely surprise. The dining room is romantic and dimly lit and we were seated around our reservation time. Our waitress was super nice and wore a mask because she told us "The kids are back in school" so we assumed she was a Mom or a teacher. We appreciated it a lot because we have an ill relative that we need to protect. Our dinner was super delicious. We started with the fried oysters that were prepared with the lightest tempura like batter and served with a remoulade sauce and some arugula & tomatoes on the side. For our mains, we had the Heritage Farms Pork Chop which was salty due to the brining process but had absolutely wonderful flavor otherwise. We also tried one of the daily specials which was a tenderloin steak with lobster tail and tasted incredible. For dessert, we got the tart to go and took it back to our room to have with some champagne to celebrate our anniversary. That tart was out of this world good. We stumbled upon this little place the ambiance is beautiful yet quaint. We made a reservation they were prompt to seat us. The waitress greeted us she was nice, took our cocktail orders and that's where the snag began the cocktails took a very long time and yet the place wasn't so busy. Are appetizers were delicious we placed our dinner order and the incorrect entrees were presented. One of our guest had to wait for a new entree and getting cocktails again was absurd. The waitress said they only had one bartender so I would suggest management jump in and help the bartender, furthermore the one bartender should not be so chatty with other guest if that is the problem. read more

Cozy atmosphere, everything on the menu is great. Friendly bar staff - sit at the bar if there are only two of you - it's fun! Reasonable wine prices, great cocktail menu. And, open in the winter - one of the few decent places that is. Service can be a bit slow on super busy nights, which is usually the case. A beautiful experience for large party dining. I highly recommend the lobster Nachos. We were a large party and the staff accommodated us perfectly. Attentive service, nice, generous, alcohol pour. Decent wine list and a very exciting menu. I had trouble choosing because it all sounded delicious. Clean bathroom and restaurant. I only wish they were in Phoenix, AZ so I could enjoy every week. This was such an amazing restaurant that my husband and I went to for our anniversary. We got there early to have a few drinks and talked to the bartender who was so sweet and fun to talk to (plus she made fabulous cocktails as well). The restaurant itself had such a fun feel and awesome set up. We sat outside on their deck that they have heated for the cold months. The moment we walked into the restaurant, it was clear things were not going smoothly. We had to wait to be seated, and once we were finally at our table, we weren't given food or drink menus until we requested them. After ordering our first round of drinks without menus, we waited over 30 minutes, only for the waiter to ask if we wanted to cancel and order something else. Eventually, we got our food menus about five minutes after sitting down. Our Blue Moons arrived 28 minutes later, and the espresso martinis came 40 minutes into our meal. At least the appetizers came out quickly. We had to ask to have the espresso martinis removed from our bill due to the long wait. The rainbow trout we ordered was disappointing. It was supposed to be filled with blue crab and cornbread stuffing, but it was mostly soggy cornbread stuffing. On the bright side, the steak was cooked perfectly, so I'd recommend sticking to steak dishes. Our waiter was great and very gracious about our patience. The restaurant's ambiance is clean and polished, but the acoustics can make it very loud during busy times. read more

We got to Stella's right as they opened at 5 and double checked that we wouldn't need a reservation. Open Table showed us multiple reservations available between 5:15 and 6, so we assumed we'd be okay walking in. The manager(?) at the hostess stand was incredibly rude. She acted very put off that we had walked in. We mentioned that several reservations were available, but were told that "that doesn't matter" as she continued to act annoyed that we had asked for a table. A server came over and spoke to her and she eventually relented and told us we could sit on the deck. There were many tables available even as we were leaving an hour later. Thankfully, after that really off-putting reception, everything else was excellent. Our server, Nathan, was amazing. We had the whipped ricotta appetizer, chicken Marsala, and the jaegerschnitzel; all of it was perfectly made and we loved our dinners. The service on May 25th at Stella's was the worst I have ever had at a restaurant. We made reservations and arrived 25 minutes early. Time for a drink before dinner. The owner told us that they were clearing a table for the people ahead of us and we could get a drink and then sit where they were sitting. All well and good. There was an empty table second from the back that was clean and empty when we got there. Figured it must be for someone else. OK. At about 735 we were taken to that table. Ok. Warm tap water was brought to the table about 10 minutes later. We ordered shortly There after 745. 3 of us ordered soup. 25 minutes later bread was brought out. It was good. Then 5 minutes later the soup. Good soup. Nothing for 1 hour and ten minutes.everyone that came in after us got their food. I went up and talked to the owner she said they were very busy. That's it. The food came out 5 minutes later. My wife and daughter and I got boxes. Daughters boyfriend who did not get soup ate his undercooked hamburger. No check back by owner. $191 for the bill no discount. One of the best options for dinner in all of Chautauqua County. I highly recommend the Crab Cakes, the Tuna Crisp, the Veal Piccata, and the Lasagna. Beautiful ambience but sometimes can get a little hot inside and progessivley darker as the night goes on. Super friendly staff with ezcellent service. Stopped to have brunch on the patio of this brand new establishment and was so pleased! From the charming and stylish decor inside to the friendly staff to the delicious food, it all made for a great experience. Such a nice addition to the area with some unique and delicious options. We had mimosas and rhubarb Bellinis to start with homemade coffee cake. Then for the meals ordered the homemade quiche, strawberry crepe pancakes, and eggs Florentine with baguettes. Stella's is a great upscale option for dining out in Chautauqua County. Greeted promptly and pleasantly at the hostess table by the person who came from working behind the bar. She told us up front that the restaurant was shorthanded that particular Thursday night and the heads up was appreciated. We were a table of two couples. Our friends were a bit put off when the waitress "C" was not knowledgeable with the craft beer offerings being offered due to improper training. (I'm easy...always support the hometown brewery with a Southern Tier IPA order.) My better half ordered her usual fav, a bowl of French Onion Soup which she described as "good". She and one of our friends we dined with ordered the Bijou Filet Mignon and this was also described as "good" but that the gravy overly salty in her opinion. Our second friend ordered an entree that included jumbo shrimp that he said was tasty, but the shrimp was cold. Me? I had the Caponata wedge, which was served with a full compliment of goodies and a house made special dressing. Loved it! Outstanding. I also ordered the Jager Schnitzel as my entree. The Schnitzel portion was generous, but was not properly seasoned to my liking during the cooking process. I never add salt and pepper when dining out, but did this particular Thursday night. Back to our waitress "C" who was absolutely nice enough, but distant and mixed up our orders a bit and was not attentive. (Although I prefer under attentive to over the top.) The ambiance was good at this Lakewood Bistro and I repeat, Stella's is an asset to the Chautauqua County dining scene and deserves five stars from me. The bill for two with a couple of two and three drinks each was just shy of $150. Reservations are probably a must. read more

We had reservations but got there about 20 minutes early. They quickly seated us. Food was good and came out hot. My husband had the sword fish and I had lasagna. We enjoyed them both. However, we waited what seems like an hour for our food. But, as I said it was hot so happy about that. The peach cobbler was outstanding. Would recommend but you may have to be patient with them. Got the caste iron strip steak, my broccoli and steak were cold but my potato was so hot it burnt my mouth. The sauce drowned my steak, I had to scrape it off in order to even taste the steak. I will admit, the sauce tasted awesome on the potatoes. I would have asked for something else but we had plans after dinner so I did not have time to wait. Our dessert came out as a frozen block and was inediwas, we sat for 15 minutes and waited for it to thaw, not a single person had come to check on us in that time, or else we would have said something. by time the manager (?) came to see us, it had thawed and there was no point complaining. We paid $36 for 3 jack and cokes and the waitress kept taking the drinks before we finished them, so really we got 1.5 jack and cokes. My father got the plain and simple burger, which he did love. The waitress was kind, but clearly new, and there were several times where we were waiting on something (specifically our check and our dessert) and she was standing at the bar hanging out w the bartender, feet away from us. I know she wasn't waiting for drinks because he wasn't making drinks, just standing there talking as well. We cut her some slack, I can forgive someone still learning how to do their job, it takes years, but the combination of that on top of it being so loud we couldn't talk, the overpriced everything, things taking longer than they needed to, and my food being cold was enough to ensure we will not return, and we will not recommend this place to others. read more

Would love to be able to leave a review, but unfortunately when we arrived for our 6 pm reservation, the street was in the midst of a power outage. Now we realize the restaurant has no control over this except perhaps to own a generator, but we drove 1hr. 45 min. to get there for our anniversary dinner. Stella's couldn't call to say there will be no service? Even if we were enroute, we could try for somewhere else. The hostess apologized & when we said how far we had traveled, & asked for suggestions of somewhere else to eat....her response was "Olive Garden! Applebee's!" Not that they had to do anything for us either, but perhaps a gesture for an appetizer, a drink or a dessert on the house the next time we came, might soften the inconvenience.....sadly no. I tried to order a Daiquirí--rum, lime juice, simple syrup-- and was told they didn't have the ingredients. The drink I ordered off the menu had lime juice, advertised as fresh squeezed, and they had ample rum on their liquor list. Luckily the food was phenomenal. The place has a nice atmosphere, not overly formal but very pleasant and comfortable. Our server was attentive but we weren't rushed so we could enjoy or meal. Both of us enjoyed our dinner choices (the pork chop and bay scallops special along with salads and peanut butter pie for dessert). I had the she crab soup which was delicious. Very rich with big chunks of crab. My husband has the lasagna, which had a wonderful cheese layer. I had the puttanesca- very good, but could have had a little more zing. Blueberry cobbler with ice cream for dessert. It was a great meal. We will definitely return and send our friends. Covid-wise, they took our temperatures when we entered. We wore masks to our tables. There was one server at the bar with his mask under his nose, but all others were. appropriately covered. My wife and I have made a new years resolution to go on "date nights" every other weekend. We are memebers of the erie fine dining that certain restaurants in the northeast ohio, erie and Southwest new york. Tonight we tried Stella based on the reviews. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is in a quiet little town. It's clean and my wife calls it "Hollywood glam". I had a glass of merlot which has been my go to. It was good. For a starters we ordered the korean bbq salmon lettuce wraps which are actually under the hanheld menu. They were awesome! Definitely would recommend them. They had salmon, peanuts, glass noodles and a couple dipping sauces. I ordered the 5 oz filet, medium. It was cooked perfectly. I dont eat a lot of starches so i opted for extra veggies. They did have a scalloped type potatoe option that i probably would've loved years ago. My wife tried the braised short rib also with extra veggies. Hers also came with carrots and parsnips. I'm a huge roasted root veggie person so my wife let me try them. They were very good. We don't usually get dessert but our waitress told us everything was homemade and they had coconut creme pie. I'm a sucker for homemade coconut creme pie and this one did not disappoint. The filling was very creamy. My only complaint was the topping was whipped cream and not meringue but the filling made up for it. All in all it was worth the hour drive to try something new. We will be back in the summer.
