To say that I am "grateful" for what she accomplished in securing a temp-to-hire position for me does not seem adequate. I had been out of the workforce for some time. Having worked with Apple One with great success in the past, I reached out to discuss both temporary and permanent placements as I began seeking a new job and potential career change. I had a fantastic initial conversation with a representative from this office who seemed genuinely excited to work together to find a new position for me. Unfortunately, that was the last time I heard from him. I emailed and called with no response. I saw a job with a company he mentioned that Apple One represents, so I proactively checked in before applying directly... nothing. So I reached out to another Apple One office to ask some questions, and they called him to see why he hadn't responded to me. He told them he absolutely would. Nothing. I am writing this review exclusively to thank branch manager NICK CONTES! Wow my experience with AppleOne has been so wonderful. Honestly, I didn't think that temp agencies were real. My only reference to a temp agency is "The Office" (Ryan started the FIRE!) But one of my friends referred me to them and it was probably one of the best decisions I've made in my career. First, the level of care and efficiency in which Nick works is AMAZING! I met with him for a little less than an hour and within that time frame we talked about my needs, ideal workplace, pay, he reviewed my resume AND he sent my resume to 4 companies. Then the following day I had two phone interviews and by the third day someone was offering me a job. Now I am not saying that you will find a job within three days. However, my recommendations are: be nice (treat Nick with respect and he will reciprocate), check your emails, go to the interviews on time and if he requests that you make changes to your resume do it ASAP! Second, he is a very honest person. Ask the questions that you have! Don't be afraid. He is willing to help and work with you. I asked Nick SO many questions and he was never annoyed. Instead he would say, "I am glad you are asking these questions I wish more people would." Third, he is one step ahead of you! Every request I had in mind he discussed it with me before I even mentioned it. He was able to negotiate my salary so it was closer to what I had requested. For someone that has a hard time asking for a pay raise I felt so relieved that I had someone on my side helping me make those tough requests. So the pros to working with a temp agency are the connections. Your resume will actually be seen by employers. AND you will have someone rooting for you during the interview and application process. With that being said he did explain that Temp agencies are not non profits. So make sure that you do your research and be direct and ask questions. Good luck to everyone! We love AppleOne! This is the first time we've ever hired temporary workers for our business and it could not have gone better. This is a 5 star branch. The entire hiring process was simple and they walked us through everything we needed to know. We personally worked with Nick who is extremely pleasant and consistently went out of his way to make sure he answered our all our questions and dealt with any issues that we had. I would definitely recommend them to any employer looking to hire quality people. We brought in a good amount of people from AppleOne. The interviews were laid out for us exactly as we had requested. Nick provided us the time-slots, resumes, and reported any changes to the schedule to us in real-time. The interviewees themselves were all great and the people we ultimately ended up hiring were spectacular. There are multiple Apple One offices throughout LA and the SGV. This one, however gets more personal and works harder for you in your job search. I had been involved with the office in Glendale and although they seemed alright, they just could never get me a solid job lead. I would get a few calls a week where they said they wanted to submit me for a position. Then the next call would be for a different job. I would ask what happened with the last one and their response was always "I don't know but I can find out for you. Can I submit you for this one though?" They just didn't have a good follow up system. Then one day, i got a call from Sandra Lopez at the Pasadena office. I went in for a meeting and she already had a position that she had me in mind for. She sent me on the interview and a business day or 2 later, I got the job offer. I'm Now working full time. In this very competitive job market of today, this office stands out among not just Apple One offices but employment agencies in general. They really have a sense of what job would be a good fit for you, as well if you would work well for the employer. I was signed up with too many agencies to count for a good while up until now and these guys knocked it out of the park after only looking at my resume and talking to me. read more

Job-hunting itself is a job. It demands a lot from you and success is contingent on the effort you bring - but you already knew that. Under-qualified and lacking an exuberant resume, I wasn't the most exciting candidate. But I was driven, I was hungry, and I was ready for an opportunity. Maya gave me the glimmer of hope I was looking for. She understood my situation and we both knew that this climb was going to be steep. She recommended me to over 20 jobs; none of which I got, but she persisted. She's a constant reminder that in a sea of no's there's bound to be a yes. I ultimately found mine and with it a great counselor in Maya. I imagine the other agents to be no different. Let me start this off as ..... I had my reservations about going through this agency. Reason being is because I had attempted to work with them through an office in Tempe Arizona when I was living there. The response I got from that office was very nonchalant and very cold. Got the typical run around as most agencies do. So when I found myself here in California and I seen at this agency had availability I decided of course after a few months of waiting to give them a try, Because afterall not offices are the same. Now I went in with great hesitation and made it clear that I dont wanted waste my time or theres, explained what my hesitation was and continued with my interview. My recruiter was my and became my front line contact on everything. Even though I was placed with another Apple One recruiter. If after reading this and choosing to go through Apple One, I hope you get Sandra Lopez. I highly recommend her, she does her very best to get you placed and she understands when you have a particular situation going on that will hinder you from accepting most opportunities that an agency has to offer. My only regret at this time is that I was not able to bring her along with me when I was offered an opportunity out of state. Now that I am job hunting again, I chose to go back through Apple One & needless to say, I am feeling the coldness again with this new office.
