Terrible experience at this shop. Asked for some info on a bike and was ignored. The person in charge (I believe her name was Gwen), was also very rude and told me to go shop somewhere else. I then mentioned that I couldn't believe the way I was being treated, and Gwen then told me that "they don't need my money". Went to a different establishment and was taken care of. read more

As a relatively new WI transplant I have lived in several other states and visited many bike shops....and few compare to Appleton Bicycle Shop. This owner operated shop provides professional and prompt service, caters to a customer's personal needs and is more than competitively priced. The service here was amazing. When I first went there on Thursday to get my bike fixed, it only took five minutes. They came outside, asked me what was wrong with my bike, and then asked me for my information and gave me an estimate of how much it would cost. They then took my bike inside and I left. The next day I received a call saying my bike was ready and that I can come pick it up. Before the last on the phone hung up she gave me my total to the exact cent. I went there to pick it up and she then again, met me outside and welcomed me in to pay. When I came inside I realized that the total cost was less than the estimate. She was very nice and did all of the maintenance necessary on the bike. Including fixing the chain and making the brakes less squeaky. Overall this is a very good bike shop and I would recommend for anyone looking to buy a bike or fix their bike. I will definitely go there in the future. read more

I shopped at this store this week when I ask if a specific bike was all aluminum the answer given was vague as the assumption had been made I had to have an an all aluminum one. To me it seemed they just wanted the sale. I bought at another area shop where I paid less for a 2014 version that this shop was selling a 2013 for. read more

I have what was once a great high end bike and had been sitting in my mothers garage for almost a decade. I love bike rides but do not have enough money to invest in a new rig. I brought them my bike in very rough shape and within just a few days they had it working in tip top shape again at a very reasonable cost. New tires, new chain, breaks, wheels, they even fixed the loose and oddly sized seat post I had just been dealing with while riding it through the 4 years the bike was my daily transportation in college. I think they probably touched every part of this bike and they did a wonderful job. I have recommended them to many friends for bike repairs and buying new bikes, no one has been disappointed yet. read more

I bought a tandem bike for my son and I(my son is autistic). I got the bike online from Sam's club. I had it put together, but the brakes rubbed. I took it to Appleton Bike Shop. Those guys are awesome!!! Excellent customer service. When it was finished, they gave me some other tips for my son - to make the riding experience more enjoyable. After Milhaupt's went out of business I started to make an effort to support the local bike shops. I've brought 2 bikes to Appleton Bike to have tune ups done to them in spring/summer 2011. One of them specifically I asked to have the back wheel trued. The 2nd one I specifically asked to have the brakes adjusted, which they said would be done as part of the tune up. I pointed out how they didn't return to the start position always naturally, and that they had to be pulled all the way to the grip and didn't do much for stopping the bike. None of the above were taken care of when I picked the bikes up. Unfortunately I didn't notice until I got the bikes home. All this has inspired me to just buy the park tools I need from Amazon, and not use Appleton Bike at a minimum. Perhaps I'll give wheel and sprocket or Neenah Bike a chance. read more

Appleton Bike and Fitness is the best bike shop in the area. I recently purchased a commuting bike. They listened to what I was looking for and showed me many bikes that fit my biking personality. They did a great job at helping me narrow down my choices and led me to my final decision. The bike is exactly what I was looking for at a price that was definitely fair. As for repairs, they are the only people I trust my bikes with. In my opinion, if they can't fix your bike, it is probably broken beyond repair. The repair prices are reasonable and the quick turnaround is best in class. read more
