I called them when our refrigerator konked out. The technician did a thorough analysis and determined that the cost (parts & repair), would be $XYZ. He also advised that, due to the nature of the problem, this "fix" might not really be a fix; the appliance may need further work, but there's no way to know without investing the first $XYZ. If so, they'd split the initial parts cost with us, a policy that's above-and-beyond most shops. In the end, we'd still have an 8-yr old fridge from a popular but quality-challenged manufacturer (whose name shall remain Samsung). We gratefully paid for the service call, and are now shopping for a new refrigerator among brands that need fewer, and simpler, repair calls. The first appointment they did not show, called to and asked to show hours later but I could not take that much time from work. Already took 3 hours. Rescheduled two weeks out and they called a week before to say they could not make that appointment. Obviously my work was not important enough and it doesn't seem to matter that I work too. They don't do evenings and weekends. I can't say anything about their work since it never happened. I would try someplace else unless you are home all day anyway. read more

These guys are as good as it gets. We had a huge family reunion scheduled with people coming from as far away as New Zealand and 2 days before they were scheduled to arrive our Samsung, chef's collection, slide in gas range went out. We called everybody in the book but the authorized Samsung repair people didn't bother to answer our plea for help. All the others were too busy. But Appliance Artisan called early the next morning and somehow managed to squeeze us in. Paul quickly found the problem, a burned out sensor, ordered the part and managed to squeeze us back in when the part arrived. He quickly installed the new sensor, verified everything was working and he did it 1 day before the big reunion dinner. But sadly after the repair he had to leave. We wanted him to stay for dinner Because the range was operational again we were able to bake those yummy fresh Brioche rolls. (They're great with grilled hamburgers) and the whole reunion was a huge success. Thanks to Paul!!! You guys are the absolute, last word, BEST!!! read more

UPDATE: Tina, manager, from Appliance Artisan called me back to discuss in details about my interactions with the company. She believed there were some learning opportunities for her staff and had refunded me the service fee. I really appreciated the call from Tina. I was impressed with Tina's willingness to listen and work with me. I promised her that I would be giving the company another opportunity and will be the first on my call list when I need an appliance serviced. I had the company look at my washer and they said I needed a new motherboard. The technician said they would order the part and let me know when it was came in. I called at least once a week to get an update. Every time I called, I get the "I have not heard back from the technician" story and due to Covid their manufacturer was backlogged, which is BS. I googled the motherboard part for the washer and I could have had it delivered the next day. They could not confirm if an order was even placed. Again, I got the "I'll let you know when the technician gets back to me" story and never heard back with updates. After FIVE weeks of being dragged along, I told them to cancel and I could no longer wait. They then had the audacity to still charge me the service fee. read more

Well, now I did need service from them, Plumber came and did his job, but then still noticed a leak inside the washing machine. So I called them back again, scheduled an appointment at 12:30 (again not a service window, an appointment). They showed up on time, found a busted valve in the washing machine, and $180 later I was good as new. It's a no brainer when you pick a person with perfect 5 star reviews on Yelp as to what you can expect :-) happy to add yet another happy customer to their Yelp page. Responsive, resourceful, genuine, knowledgeable, personable I left a message and got a call back 15 minutes later from Tina who not only helped me with troubleshooting my oven issue, but also told me about how great the folks over at Appliance Parts Depot are about helping place parts. Disappointed in this company. I have worked with them twice. Once with a washer and once with a dryer. The washer wasn't fixable but we needed an invoice stating that to receive compensation. They took weeks to get me the invoice which resulted in us missing out on any compensation. Most recently they "fixed" our dryer. They charged us for a "belt package". Months later the dryer started doing the same thing. Instead I called another local company. Come to find out most of the parts were still original to the dryer and had NOT been replaced. Needless to say this company no longer has my business. read more

Beware!! This has to be one of the most unprofessional and dishonest companies I have ever dealt with. Nathaniel strong armed his way to a $185 dollar bill and all he did was lower the legs on our dishwasher and look over our washer and refrigerator (no work was done). When we called the office Tina was very sarcastic and rude. We were on the phone for almost an hour trying to resolve the issue ending in Tina hanging up on us and not answering our calls. read more

Scheduled an appointment for dryer repair. I asked if there was a trip charge. I was told yes but if i did the repair then no trip charge. Made sense as that is what most companies do. Nathaniel came out. Explained the problem to me. Gave me a quote of $200. Didn't say that was an estimate so I thought that was total price. Agreed to the repair. When he was done I start to write the check and I say, "200 right?" He says, "no, I'll tell you in a minute." Huh? So total price is more. Not good. He says, "there is a charge for coming out. I'm sure they told you that." I said I was told only if I declined the repair. He says, "no, in addition to." I didn't get a receipt with the breakdown of charges until later in the day(via email). I was charged reasonable labor, 500% markup on part, tax, and a trip charge of almost as much as labor!! Reached out to the company that same day and told them what happened. Dryer stopped working, they came out and fixed it in less than 20 minutes. The tech then tells me its $270, which is insane, so I asked to see a receipt with a price breakdown. Didn't get one, but low and behold he had "made a mistake" and charged me almost double what it should be. He didn't have any form of card reader and would have taken my card number down onto his notepad to no doubt scam me more. I ended up paying 175 in cash just to get him out of my house without my card number. The dryer broke down a week later, I called to get it repaired under their 30 day warranty and their warranty only applies to the single part they put in! Bad company practicing slimy sales tactics in a college town. Use anyone else. read more

Appliance Artisan did a fantastic job fixing my dryer, and came out a second time because it was still acting glitchy. They had to replace another part. The second trip out was no charge becasue they guarantee their work. They arrived on time, were clean, professional, polite and made sure I understood everything. I also had them take a look at my oven, which has been acting flaky. They could have charged me a bunch of money to fix it, but told me that in their opinion, it wasn't worth it. You've got to trust a company that turns down work when that's in the best interest for the customer! Jeff is awesome! I would recommend him to anyone needing dishwasher repair. He was really knowledgeable and really seem to love what he does. I have a Fisher and Paykel double drawer dishwasher and the top drawer didn't want to stay shut. Another guy came and tried to fix it and did more damage even though he claimed to have 30 years of experience. What could've been a $60 fix turned out to be way more. After almost a month of getting the round about from this guy I called Jeff and he came and fixed it the same day it was diagnosed. Jeff said this other guy damaged a couple of parts but Jeff was able to rig it so it worked without me having to buy any parts since this was a rental he knew I wanted to keep costs to a minimum. It is so hard to find anyone with good work ethics and takes pride in their work these days but Jeff is your guy! read more

Jeff is a trustworthy, knowledgeable resource, and we recommend him wholeheartedly to anyone needing assistance with an appliance issue. When we found water leaking from underneath our aging dishwasher, Jeff did all he could to help us avoid replacing it, going so far as to seek out a compatible replacement part when the part for our specific model turned out to have been discontinued. Alas, it turned out that our dishwasher had reached the end of its useful life...but Jeff helped recommend a reasonably-priced replacement dishwasher, picked it up for us at the store, brought it to our home, installed it for a very reasonable cost, and hauled away the old one. He answered questions we had about maintaining other appliances too. I recommend Jeff very highly. I set up service after my oven wasn't working properly (read:gas accumulated in the oven and was blowing the oven door open). The person who scheduled the service and the technician were both very professional and helpful. The technician arrived within the window of time promised and completed the repair efficiently. Unrelated to their service, but I warned them I have a slumlord with whom they would have to deal, and the slumlord lived up to expectation of being upset at the cost. I know he demanded the technician call him--emailed him twice within 15 minutes demanding such--and I'm pretty sure he wasn't nice. Feel bad that professional service was likely met with a bit of a fit from a wealthy, entitled cheapskate. I was about to call the company again for a separate repair, but I was treated to a fit of my own by the slumlord. In other words, I would use them again. read more

Just had a great experience with this company. Washing machine went bad and they came to house in less than 24 hours and diagnosed the issues. Machine not worth repairing. They arranged to meet with our tenant and showed up an hour earlier than planned. I was notified of their findings within an hour. The $70 house call was worth every penny. My 9 yr old Whirlpool Duet Washer wouldn't work. I called and Nathanial came. He replaced the temperature regulator which was the suggested fix. It didn't work. The next recommendation was to replace the mother board. I agreed. Another technician replaced the mother board. It still didn't work. This technician said I needed a new wiring harness. I agreed to replacement. After installation, it still didn't work. He again changed the temperature regulator. It still didn't work. He called Whirlpool and was told there was nothing else to do. I was told the washer was unrepairable. A friend said he had a "genius relative" who could likely fix my machine. I was skeptical BUT by bypassing the temperature regulator and hearing "clicking" indicating an electrical connectivity issue he checked the motherboard connections. He discovered the motherboard had a single electrical connection (there were many) plugged into the wrong place. Once that was plugged into the right place the machine works. And I thought I was going to have to buy a new washing machine!!! Appliance Artisan offered to refund the $150.00 for the "genius relative's" service call but refused to refund the cost of the unneeded wiring harness.
