I like a lot of people purchased a Bosch dishwasher from Costco. Yes it is true that they require an air gap and a gfci outlet, but I don't understand why so many reviews are shocked and appalled. When you order the dishwasher from Costco, it says you need to have it. When they call to schedule they say you need to have it or at least they did to me. When they text confirmation, it specifically says that you need these. At any of these times you can cancel your order and go somewhere else. For those who are shocked by this, I feel like it's their own fault for not paying attention or decided to try to talk their way out of it. If you have these connections, the installation is seamless and easy. They were in and out of my house in 30 mins. Hauled the old one away and installed the new one. read more

I purchased appliances from Costco and this company was assigned installation of dishwasher and microwave. They indicated the need for a GFCI outlet and when I asked whose requirement that was they said Costco which made no sense. I asked if it could be a code issue and they started to scream that I needed to call Costco and it was no there problem . They said they would leave my appliances in my living room if I did not like it. I called Costco and they worked with me on the issue. I had no idea but in the background this company called Costco and cancelled the install so now I have the appliances sitting in my living room. Ridiculously unprofessional, there customer service people must hate their lives. This is the worst company I have ever worked with for anything. Had a dishwasher delivery/installation through Best Buy. The company called the day before to narrow down the delivery timeframe. The technician was George (sp?), he was extremely professional and called 30 min prior to arrival. I needed to have the airgap replaced and hardwired electrical switched out to an outlet. These were potentials that I knew could happen since the unit was installed prior to me owning the unit and seemed old. The technician called Best Buy and asked Best Buy to comp these additions since I had a Best BuyTotalTech membership. Best Buy approved as a one-time allowance. I appreciated that the technician reached out to Best Buy for me during the appointment so that I didn't need to do any of the negotiations, nor did I even know that Best Buy would do that. George and the other person helping were efficient and were done within 45 minutes. read more

The whole process working with them was great. From scheduling, fitting in our schedule as we were still working on the kitchen they were installing, to being professional and helpful. Eric was fantastic and helped direct us in last minute modifications in the cabinetry we needed to do to fit the dishwasher into the space. He kindly called in advance to notify us he was on his way and accurate on ETA. Eric had great attention to detail and gave us guidance on best practices for how to get the fridge water lines working well in our kitchen and was overall very professional. Additionally we considered installing ourselves and happy we had a professional install dishwasher as there was much more expertise needed to ensure proper install and safety of the appliance in our home. We had ordered a dishwasher through Costco and the installation was "included" in the purchase price. Eric attempted to charge us $100 for a $5 airgap, even though it is not needed. It would have been $195 if he had to drill the hole! This is robbery. When I called the office, his coworker Amber and asked why she didn't tell me to pick up an airgap prior when I emailed her specifically asking. She was caustic and actually attempted to justify the overcharging. I called Costco and let them know of these frauds. Beware. read more

I was referred to this company for dishwasher installation through Costco. This company insisted on putting an air gap, even though per California Plumbing Code, years 2019-2022, it is not required for *domestic* dishwashing machine installations. I was trying to explain this to AIS and refer them to the actual California Plumbing Code publication https://epubs.iapmo.org/2022/CPC/#p=112 (page 65), but they yelled at me instead and hung up the phone. Had they taken the time, they would see that only "commercial dishwashing machine shall be protected by an air gap." In my case, the dishwasher would have been installed in my apartment and would not be considered a commercial dishwashing machine. Note the very last option in this long quote from the 2022 California Plumbing Code: "Domestic dishwashing machines shall discharge indirectly through an air gap fitting in accordance with Section 807.3 into a waste receptor, a wye branch fitting on the tailpiece of a kitchen sink, or dishwasher connection of a food waste disposer. " Even though it is a long sentence, the code clearly allows for dishwashers to discharge directly through the "dishwasher connection of a food waste disposer." This is a better option for new kitchen installations, since it minimizes all the issues that an air gap can create down the road. Well, it is AIS loss as they missed out on a customer. Based on all other reviews, I'm just glad they did not ruin my new kitchen. read more

While they deserve one star, I'll give them two because they ultimately installed the microwave but they deserve one star for the process. I paid Best Buy to have the microwave replaced but when the installers arrived they were not prepared. They made me install a piece of wood which I did in a half hour but then they wouldn't return. What is it with buying a dishwasher from Sears that these guys can't get right? Almost every negative review has something to do with someone getting ripped off for their dishwasher installation. And now I have to add to them. So we called on a Monday or Tuesday to set up install and haul away, and they gave us Saturday as the day they would come. And of course, they take our $180 up front. But then, Friday evening comes, and we receive no phone call for an arrival window for the tech. Then Saturday arrives, but Appliance Installation Services Inc., doesn't. No phone call. Their office closed at noon, so we couldn't get ahold of anyone. Called Sears, but everyone I spoke to acted like I was retarded when I told them the AIS office was closed, so no help there. I guess the morale of the story is,if you buy a dishwasher from Sears, either figure out how to install it yourself, or use someone you trust. read more

The customer service people in this company are very helpful, flexible, and accommodating. However, the people doing the installation not so much. Two guys came to my house to install a refrigerator, a cooktop, a washer and a dryer. They left a mess behind. They left all the wrapping from the appliances on the counters and floor. In addition, they didn't pick up the boxes in which the appliances came in. They are very expensive for the quality and cleanliness of the work they perform. I would not recommend this company. I ordered a dishwasher from Costco, and I got a call later from these guys to schedule the appointment. I was pretty nervous when I saw these reviews, but didn't have a choice as I had opted for Costco's free installation. Well, they gave me a 3 hour installation window on the afternoon the dishwasher would arrive. They showed up about 10 min after the start of their delivery window (which I loved), got situated, and then said they'd be done within 45 min. About 40 min later, he said he was done, and left. He didn't try to upsell me on anything and never gave me a hard time. We've used the dishwasher 5 times by now and everything seems to be working well. The company called me after I purchased the product from Costco to introduce themselves and to confirm delivery date. At that time they said the installer would call me 30 minutes before arriving and to expect delivery between 2-6. I received a call at 2:15 from the installer with his current location and an eta of 30 minutes away. The installer was on time and very professional. I live in a two story condominium and the installer carried the dishwasher up two flights of stairs and took my old one away. The installer removed all my under the sink products (shame on me for not removing them first) and offered to put them all back when he was finished which I adamantly refused and aplogized for not removing them first. I would give them five stars for the service. They arrived in a timely manner, took out my old dishwasher, installed my new dishwasher, and cleaned up nicely. They tested the dishwasher to make sure it was working. They also charged me $85 for a new air gap. They told me that I needed to replace my old one, and the one they installed is the same as the one Home Depot sells for $13.16, skirted chrome with a rectangular opening starting midway to the top. I can understand marking up an item, but that is a markup of 545.897% with a $71.84 profit. Because of that I give them one star. read more

Today is 5/12/21 If I could give them negative stars I would give them 5. This dishwasher was supposed to be delivered on May 1st, 2021. We have now gone 10 days as a family of 5 without a dishwasher. Its embarrassing that Costco uses this company. In my opinion they are unorganized, unreliable, unprofessional and rude. They only called day before and left a message asking if dishwasher that we bought from Costco has been delivered yet. I called back and gave them the correct delivery date. When speaking to the woman on the phone, she seemed to not have any idea about what I was speaking of. Today, after delivery I called and I asked when the dishwasher would be installed but she could not give me any information. I asked her, you do install dishwashers for Costco, correct? She said, "Ya, but that's a different program", whatever that means. I called back and spoke to Liz- L I Z, as she spelled it out for me when I asked her name, when it would be installed and she said "probably they could install on Saturday", that they'd call on Friday to set up a time. I said lets set up a time now and she said they didn't do that. Rude and unprofessional. They just want to jerk you around and make you wait on them all day, like we don't have lives. Did that twice already for this appliance. Shame on Costco for using this business!! They obviously have no idea what customer service looks or sounds like. First of all, the person answering the phone was quite snotty. It seemed as though she was looking for any reason not to provide service to me. I asked if they had anyone that could come out, she said "no, everybody is already on their routes". Then I asked when would someone be available. No answer. Is your appliance new? Yes Where did you get it? I told her. Where is the appliance located? In my house. Where in your house? The garage. Oh no! we don't install appliances in people's garages. Missed their planned installation schedule, called late and told me 2 weeks later was the only slot . Unreliable. Avoid.

We recently purchased a dishwasher from Sears, and Sears contracted this company - now calling themselves "Appliance Installation Services" but using the same address and phone number listed in this profile -- to deliver and install it. They showed up to install it and were unable to locate the shutoff valve for the water to the house. We are new renters so we don't know where it is, but one would think that a competent appliance installation firm would have some experience in this area. Not in this case. They told us to call a plumber to find the valve, and then call them back when the water was off so they could install the dishwasher. But wait, there's more. Before leaving, their tech had tried all the valves he could locate, and somehow managed to shut off the water heater, so the next day we discovered the house had no hot water. We called the company to have them come out and fix whatever he did, and their initial reaction was to deny that their guy had done anything. They finally sent out two other guys to get the hot water going again, and these two also maintained that their coworker couldn't possibly have done it. Their theory is that the hot water heater coincidentally decided to shut itself off on the one day in the last six months when one of their employees was on site, twisting every knob in sight. Riiiight, brilliant deduction, Watson. As it turned out, the dishwasher they delivered was too large to fit the space in our kitchen. If these installers had been competent enough to locate the shutoff valve, then we would have immediately realized that the dishwasher wouldn't fit and they could have hauled it away. Instead, we had to go back to Sears, pay for another dishwasher, wait for that one to be delivered and the old one to be returned, and then finally receive a credit for the return. It's surprising how small acts of incompetence can radiate outward and affect larger and larger areas -- sort of like ripples on a swelling pool of stupidity. If these people had been honest and apologetic about the issue, we would have no problem with it. Since that did not happen, we have no choice but to advise anyone and everyone to stay as far away from their services as possible. read more

Aztec Appliance referred me to this location for the dishwasher installation. I will freely admit that I am a wuss and I don't want to tackle any sort of installation. Plus, the Mr. reminded me that we probably needed some updated parts for the machine. San Diego Appliance comes armed and ready with all potential installation needs (for us, it was an air gap and a water line). Here's the deal: You call ahead of time, make an appointment for an installation and they will then tell you to call in after 8:00 a.m. on the day of the scheduled installation. At that time, they will give you about a 3 hour window letting you know when they will be there to install. Once they are there, they get it all handled and are on their way. Also, if you order from Aztec, they will pick your appliance and will bring it out to your house. Not a bad deal. Our service guys were very friendly and were helpful in testing out the appliances before they left. They even made the trek to Escondido without batting an eyelash, so take note kids...they will travel! I am looking forward to using them for the washer/dryer installation. Yes!! read more

If I could rate them lower, I would! Ramon and Orlando came to my house and told me my in-house gas outlet was all wrong and needs additional parts which would cost me $50 extra. This was a totally clean install in a newly remodeled kitchen with gas outlet and power installed as required in the Samsung installation manual. Rather than discuss my options, Ramon hopped back in his truck and left. I called the owner, Miguel, to complain, and he totally wasn't interested. He said "If you can get someone to install it for free, go ahead" and then he hung up. I was already paying him $150 for a simple oven install, and before they even hit my front doorstep, they wanted an additional $50! Folks, get your plumber or HVAC person to do the installation. My plumber charged me $75 and had everything needed on his truck. My next step is to get Pacific Sales/Best Buy to stop recommending these guys to do their installations. read more

I recently bought an AC unit from Sears and paid for installation.The first time the guy came to my house, he told me that I would have to buy a new housing sleeve to fit the new AC unit. So I did and a few days later the guy shows up to do the installation. He gave me a window of 3-7 pm but didn't show up until after 9:00 pm. After the install is done he notifies me that I will need to pay an additional $120. I asked him why and he said because he had to change out the housing sleeve to fit the new AC unit. According to him the installation services that I paid for did not include changing out the new sleeve. I felt like he was trying to rip me off so I asked to speak to his manager. Manager was not available so I told him that I would like to hold off until I spoke with management. The install guy does quality work if you don't mind him finishing up at 20 to midnight! read more

Yes, delivery and install is two separate trips, which is a little frustrating and takes more time out of your day - but that is not AIS's fault. Also, our installer (Frankie) arrived only an hour after the delivery and was in & out in 30min. Both the delivery guy and Frankie (with AIS) were very nice. Frankie took the time to go through the dishwasher features and settings with me, which was very appreciated. He was friendly and professional. They will ruin your day ...Got a call from oven installer already at our rental house 9:30 AM. He said called.... but no message and phone is working. Says opening is proper size 1 need to pay his new gas line $60. They said not when arranged. Tech removes old oven, His gas line no fit. "I am am leaving call me when U have gas line. Ok even though I'm working on important real estate deadline I agree to go get the gas line went to tow places. 2 gas line fitting not fit and he has no simple tools to be able to cut wood around existing valve and reinstall.After much wrestling around get adapter from old gas line off to use. 3 adjusts oven legs and they don't fit on 2x4 stringers. has 1-1/2" gap at top he says got to leave again call when you have simple 2'x2' simple shelf ("our charge $250") I say hey this is a rental house and i'm super busy but i pay you $20 more if you wait 5 minutes for me to cut a simple plywood piece I have there and skill saw in my honey do simple tool kit ok, five minutes he even holds wood. He had me use 5/16" vs 5/8" ply from my scrap plywood. Ok Fits oven but feet are pushing down plywood as not strong enough and bowing down although looks like will hold barely. Now there there is a 1/2 " gap at top. Not to bad last one had unnecessary 1/2" gap too. So over all George did not have proper tools to cut wood or simple wood 2x4's ply for shelf .Lacked strong tools or vise to remove coupling from existing line. Threatened to leave and come back another day twice one for gas line they should be capable of handling and one to move basic 2x4 base striigers or make 20' x19" plywood shelf. To top it off I to tech i need to return the $30. 4' 5/8" gas line that would cost them $20. get to Ace hardware and there is a coupling part missing from bag. Called George and he said and did leave coupling in mailbox. Bottom line, Cost me 4-5 hours of helping with two threats of leaving for whole day And final job is kind of precarious, flimsy and hope old gas line hols up- because he did not have proper tools and near end was saying had to go to another job. George is seem like good manners, nice guy but under adequate tools to do job costing me 1/2 day of really important day of real estate transaction deadline. BTW AIS did leave a message at about 4 PM the night before with a 2 hour window but not on my cell phone as requested we missed that home message in extra room as were out earlier. Price was average $184, plus $69, plus $20 urgent tip Not even sure if credited for there gas line I paid $60. for with credit card on the morning of installation. read more

The tech that came over today who installed an over the range microwave on a granite back splash did a fantastic job. He was quick and before i knew it the job was done. He also went above and beyond with the service by installing the vent, taping it, and making sure it's secured. He also hauled away my old microwave before i included the haul away service. It was a great experience and i would recommend this company to friends and family. If i ever need another installation i won't hesitate to call again. Fantastic job! read more

This company should be called Appliance Shake Down Service. Bought a Dishwasher from Best Buy and included the installation, and removal services for an additional fee. When the installation company called at 3:40 pm the day prior to schedule the service, they said that they won't install the unit with out an air gap for an additional $180. $100 to drill the hole, and $80 for the air gap, which would have been on top of the $149 installation, and $25 removal charges already paid. The installation charges would have been more than the cost of the Dishwasher. Called Best Buy and informed them of the installation companies unscrupulous business practice, and cancelled the sale for a complete refund. Will not tolerate such unprofessionalism from a contractor to which has been prepaid to perform a service. read more

Unfortunately, Sears uses this company for our cooktop installation. Out of poor, fair, good and excellent, I would give the installer a fair grade for competence. He can do the basic installation but is apparently not very experienced. He had trouble deciding if the new cooktop would fit into the space the old one occupied. After much struggle, it did fit. What's more, on top of $120 Sears charged us for installation and hallway, the installer surprised us with an additional $110 charge. This just does not feel right. If I had a choice, I would definitely not use this company again. read more

These guys are crooks. I paid $280 to install a dishwasher and microwave which was part of my purchase from Sears. When they showed up they demanded an additional $110 to do the install for parts. The same parts can be purchased from Lowes for $20 and was supposed to be included in my original purchase. I was in bind since I already took the day off of work so I paid the added fee. They installed the two appliances in an under an hour and my handyman said he would have installed both for $100. I had a great experience with AIS. I recently purchased a cook top from Sears and AIS promptly contacted me for my installation. Unfortunately, the day they gave me did not work with my schedule. I was able to call their office and speak with the office manager. She was great and worked with me to get me a better day. The installer who arrived was very knowledgeable and curteous. He installed my product quickly, and ensured my cook top was in great shape, before installing. I am very satisfied with the interactions I had with them, and would definitely use them with any of my future installations. read more

Where do I begin?! We ordered a dishwasher through Sears and were told the installers would be in touch with us to schedule the delivery. The anticipated delivery date came and went, we never received a call. Sears put me in touch with the installers (Appliance Installation Services, Inc.) and the gal I spoke with never apologized and made me feel like I was being a nuisance. We nailed down the day and I was told I would receive a call the day before with the window so that I could coordinate taking time off work. AGAIN, no phone call from the installers. I got in touch with Sears who provided me with the window for delivery. Delivery day finally arrives and the installers show up 1 hour earlier than the window I was provided. At this point, we are absolutely fed up and cancel the order entirely. Now, it's roughly three weeks later and I am still waiting for my refund which should have taken '7-10 business days'. I just got off the phone with Sears who tell me the installers still have possession of the dishwasher and we can't get our refund until it's returned. Granted, I realize this is a shared fault between Sears and the installers but I felt the installers dropped the ball more than Sears. I will be very happy when this is all over with. read more
