A Plus! They scheduled me and worked around my availability, which was greatly appreciated. The technician even waited for us as we were stuck in traffic, racing to get home for our appointment. Once inside our house, the technician was able to quickly diagnose our issue and gave us lots of valuable advice. Great service!! read more

This company, appliance medic, was provided by GE extended service contract repair provider, and I am highly disappointed in their lack of customer service. - Two separate technicians did not properly diagnose a problem over a 3 wk period - Late for 3 of the 4 appointments, which are 4 hour appt time frames. - Did not follow up with status of parts orders - completely showed disrespect when asked for answers. asked for a new service company and would never use this company again! read more

Absolute worse! Came to fix a 2 year old frig, said it was control panel. Paid over $400. Replaced the panel, which I thought, wow, only 2 years old, but I needed my frig. One month later, frig not working. Called appliance medic to come back, constant calling for 2 days. They finally got back to us and said someone would be there that day. NO SHOW. Waited all day called several times and was reassured someone would be there. I will never use them again. They are a rip off, dishonest and obviously have no clue! read more

i write this review in all caps because i want it noticed. i wish i could give a zero for this company. my service contract provider assigned appliance medic to repair my dryer that was broken. we had an f01 error code on our dryer display. with a quick scan on the internet it was clear that there was a problem with the control board. a serviceman (salman) came to our home and in addition to being rude and obnoxious to my wife totally misdiagnosed the problem. he took off the front panel of the dryer , saw lint and told us that our vent was clogged and that the service would not be done until the dryer vent was cleaned. he said that someone would need to clean the vents service the units before he would do the repair. (i guess he thought that we would hire him on the spot to do the service he suggested---you draw the conclusions) he also went on that he has been doing this for 30 years and knows what he is doing. well not so! no longer than 3 weeks earlier, the dryer vent was cleaned as we do this twice per year. he was wrong!!! in addition to his mis-diagnosis, the service contract company sided with appliance medic and told us that the maintainence needed to be done before any additional repairs were done. i hired a great whirlpool certified company (american home appliance in pequannock nj) who came to our home, confirmed that the dryer vent was clear and he cleaned some of the lint. he was certain that there was no way that the control board failure was from a blocked vent. it was dryer seals that caused the lint to accumulate and he replaced those. i gladly paid him for his service. he confirmed what i knew in the first place. after weeks of back and forth with the service contract company, they reinstated my contract and much to my disgust and protest, they sent the same company back to replace the board (that he should have done weeks earlier) . this time i was home so he would not interact with my wife. all is fixed now but not after many weeks on not having a dryer and back and forth with the service company. i have filed a formal complaint against appliance medic with service protection advantage because of the company's poor technical ability and their rude behaviour. they stated that they will never send this company in my home again and to all who might be considering this company, i would say stay away. stay away! stay away! in addition to being rude and obnoxious to my wife (i kick myself for not being home at the time) i would not trust them to change the batteries in a flashlight read more

My fridge broke and I called them Monday night at 630. They not only answered the call, but took the info and asked about the problem. They scheduled an appointment for the next day, even agreeing to call first They showed up on time after calling and brought the part with them that we needed. Service man was capable and fixed the routine problem. Needed our oven so paid their charge which was for a new igniter at @ $265 which seemed very high. Serviceman showed up in an unmarked old sedan and provided no itemized bill. Very unprofessional operation and would not use again. read more

Stay Away....technician was great and he fixed the problem with our dryer but feel was overcharged. Another family member was home during the repair and made payment. I called the next day for a detailed summary and got the run around. He couldn't even tell me the price for the part (a wheel) just that he has pre-set prices for different jobs and it should have been worth the money as it was fixed within 3 hours of me calling and that if I called Sears I would have waited longer for them to come and the cost would have been more expensive. He asked me what I felt was a fair price and I told him $145+tax and he said he would get back to me but hasn't. Poor customer service especially since I was a repeat customer and had been referring them to local friends and family. read more

The door water/ice feature was not working on my GE refrigerator. I called this company which had good reviews on Home Advisor. I was told that it would cost $97 to diagnose the problem. I was told that a new valve was needed. The whole cost would be over $300. He returned in a few days with the new valve. It did not solve the problem. He used a hair drier; that did help for a few hours. I called back and was told I would have to turn the refrigerator off for at least 12 hours. Again that helped for a few days. I did this twice. I called back and was told there was a kit that would fix this issue. I called again and was told they were working on it. I called again and was left on hold . I have had no response since. I have no idea whether I actually needed a new valve; but, their lack of response tells me I did not. As others have written, I wish I had read these reviews first. Sheila L. New Jersey read more

I called this company, he responded to the call quickly at my condo that I rent. (Probably because he doesn't have enough customers). The service calls were for the dryer. But I came to find out when I went to inspect the dryer, he failed to put the front loader dryer frame back to the foundation by a screw on the bottom and then that gets attached to the stacked washer foundation below, which he didn't do. So when you move the dryer it freely moves - a danger to have it fall over when running/spinning. He claims to be in business for 14 years - what a poor quality workmanship and the attitude. WOW. Then I have requested a Receipt for the $700+ service call (giving him business as a small business owner) 1/2 DOZEN times, and still after several months of requests he still hasn't given me the owner a receipt. I would not recommend this guy to anyone who cherish their hard earned money and they appliances. Plus he claims he will return calls the next day and never picks up the phone nor returns calls. read more

Needed to repair my dryer for a broken button, the repairman told me I needed a whole new control panel for $618 plus the service fee of $80. Seemed very high for the small amount of work needed. Then I called GE Maintenance they came next day and got the dryer working while they got the correct part from the shop, came back two days later and deducted the original service charge for the overall bill for a total of $200. Don't know how there could be such a large $$ difference but happy I got a second opinion. read more

I needed to replace an ignitor he wanted $150.00 for the part (the actual part price is a whooping $26.00) and $825.00 for the service rip off! These people are horrible. They constantly schedule an appointment - like from 10-2, don't show up and then call at 5:30 or 6:00 and want to come at that point. After I explain that I waited home from work all day and rescheduled all of my appointments for the evening, they seem annoyed. He told me to call his office to reschedule, which I did - left a voicemail, sent an email, and got no response. When I then called to reschedule and said that the repairman had missed my appointment last week, the owner interrupted and said he "didn't care and didn't want to hear what he did wrong." I have been trying to have them repair 2 problems for MONTHS and they not only missed appointments and not called, but they haven't been able to fix the problem. DO NOT USE THEM EVER. read more

Do not call this company. I contacted them to fix my Garland stove (as they mention this manufacturer in their online advertising). They told me they needed to order the part from California and that I needed to pre-pay. Stupidly, I trusted them. That was 3 months ago...no part, no explanation...no return of money!! Every time I call, the person who answers the phone makes another excuse for not returning my money. Do not call them under any circumstances...they are completely bogus. Worst service ever!!! Rude and disrespectful treatment while providing the service, asking inappropriate questions and making disrespectful comments. Later, after the service, not answering the phone or playing like not listening or understanding to try not to commit to complete the service. At the end, the job was not finished, but the fees were charged. Really a waste of time and money, plus the fact I had to receive this disrespectful guy in my house arguing, trying to leave without fixing anything and making disrespectful comments, when they were recalled since the appliance was still failing. Do not call them for any service, I would give them -5 stars if it were possible. I guess the service is inconsistent. Somehow, I decided to call them after I saw this ONE single review that rated them at 5 stars. It was the worst thing I did. They came, quoted nearly $300 to have it repaired, asked for half deposit for just showing up and said that they needed to order the part (a web search showed me that the part is $19) and would come another day. No calls whatsoever. After 2 weeks, I called to ask, "are you planning to fix the refrigerator?". The guy said that "oh, yeah, waiting for the part. Can't do anything. Will call ya'. Fast forward to October (I called them in August at the HEIGHT OF SUMMER), he call me saying he will "show up" in 5 minutes. Asked to come the next day as nobody was home. He gave me the "afternoon" but couldn't give me the window of time (he showed up at 5:45PM). Couldn't fix and said was coming back the next day. Well, he showed up apparently in that 15 minute window when I had to go pick up my kid. Calling him again resulted in him saying : "I am on vacation . You have to wait for 1 week until we come. " I mean, the ref. is now defrosted, he took parts of it and I am supposed to turn it back on after the mess he made. NEVER, EVER, EVER AGAIN!!! read more
