Paid more and customer service (Taylor) was horrible. 4 irritating phone calls. Salesman took us to appliances and we walked around them noting no dents or defects. Why they do that I have no idea because they came in a box and the dryer had a huge dent across the front. Delivery people took it out of the box and set it in place like we ordered a dented dryer. Did not mention it, like it did not exist. We were leaving on vacation in the morning and had laundry to do before we left since our washer died. They stated one other dryer in store also dented. Solutions - we could send them both back and get a different color - after vacation. Or get different appliances altogether since dryer was on back order. Horrible customer service. While I was in the store I was looking at refrigerators. I will buy that elsewhere and will not feel one bit bad that I will not spend my money at this local family owned business.

At 12:30 having not received said courtesy call I called them and was told they don't schedule times. It is a diagnostic fee that they used to secure your appointment. It goes towards nothing and you won't see it back no matter what ends up happening. I requested a technician to look at a washing machine for me and they were quick to schedule and have someone come out and look initially. The actual technician was very polite and knowledgeable, and I don't want this to reflect on them, but the company as a whole is run very poorly and it seems their supply chain resources are not the best. I had to have the part that was required ordered TWICE. First, because the manufacturer shipped the wrong part and no one checked to verify before doing service until the technician was literally in my house. The second time, I had to ask several time about delivery, verification of parts and then scheduling. 3.5 weeks AFTER the INITIAL diagnoses, I finally had an appointment for the technician to come out and install the second ordered part and confirmed with them yesterday that they had verified the part and confirmed the timeframe... 30 minutes INTO the window of service, I get a call from the company saying that they refunded me for the part but not the initial diagnostic fee... And when I ask when they were going to re-order the part and provide service, they stated that they had no intentions of ordering another part and would not complete service... now I've wasted time and made myself available for the third time and they didn't even offer to refund any part of the initial fee despite them inconveniencing me. I had other things I was going to do today AND STILL have a broken washing machine. Maybe just order your own parts and do the work yourself before calling this place .

Not the end of the world until I took it apart and noticed that someone had already "fixed" this problem. Except instead of replacing the part they trimmed, rigged, and twisted it. Go and read their reviews. I went in looking for a set that could handle comforters and told Jennifer(Toms wife)that. That was my only concern and didn't mind paying extra if needed. Was sold a Maytag Bravos XL set. After calling to have Tom come out to look at the wash bc it started throwing error codes he informed me that I didn't need to worry about the warranty time limit.. that he likes to take care of his customers. After multiple attempts to wash comforters and they came out dry and unwashed... I started looking up the serial numbers online. I was sold a regular sized W/D but paid for an XL version. Receipt and contract also says XL which is FALSE ADVERTISING. The old bait and switch. I reached out to tom again 2 months after purchasing only to be told I was outside of my warranty. He could have easily swapped out the set I bought for the set he had on site that is what I thought I paid for. But they don't care once they have your money. They come off friendly and willing to actually help their customers but is quite the opposite. Now I'll need to find another set that is what I was looking for originally.

Awesome. At the same time my double oven door on the bottom needed fixing and he said they would order the springs for the door as apparently a small adult stood on it and broke it (Door is rated to hold 140 lbs) so, must have been a person trying to get something on the upper shelf above the oven. Great. They had to special order the springs but can only get them from the OEM and since the oven was a 2007 model, the springs could not be purchased, however they came out once I found some on ebay and gave me a good and fair price. Fixed! Great! Then I had them fix a leaking washing machine (btw, do tell them before they come out that the washing machine is stacked if you have one of those models. They require 2 people to lift the dryer off the top and look at the back of the WM. He quickly found the problem and fixed it! - The End! A tip, purchase appliances without all the new bells and whistles and get the basics you need like a steady ice maker and water dispenser. I don't need a refrigerator with more things that can break. Awesome Company! Scott and everyone are very professional and considerate. They are a matter of fact company and sometimes the answer is not what you want to hear if your appliance is old. They get the job done, or tell you the hard truth that you might need a new appliance. They also show up right on time so be ready for them. Thank you for reading my review.

In summary, they incorrectly identified the wrong part twice on 2 separate troubleshooting visits,…read morewhich caused a 2 month delay in repair, when we could've just gotten a warranty replacement and been done with it. Moreover, whenever they had bad news to deliver (like when they discovered they had identified the wrong part as being the source of the problem, after waiting 5 weeks to deliver), they wouldn't call me, their customer, to let me know or even my property manager. I would have to track them down to get a status. Additionally , they don't take electronic payments and only take paper checks, in 2026. On 5 June 2026, I contacted Whirlpool warranty department reporting that the Whirlpool fridge in our rental property wasn't cooling. Whirlpool scheduled a troubleshooting/service appointment with Carolina Applicance, LLC, their vendor/contractor, to be done on 8 June 2026. On 8 June 2026, Carolina Appliance, LLC troubleshot our fridge and incorrectly identified a failed compressor as the source of the problem. We authorized them to order a new compressor. Carolina Appliance repair never gave us an EDA for the compressor, saying that the vendor can't provide it. So, we never knew whether we should buy a new fridge or wait. It took over a month for the new compressor to arrive, at which time I received a call they were ready to install the new compressor. I put them in touch with our property manager to coordinate the repair. They never called me back to let me know the new compressor was installed. I eventually inquired with them through the property manager and when prompted, Carolina Appliance reported on that a "senior technician" went out to troubleshoot the fridge a second time to discover that the compressor wasn't the problem after all and that it was a bad heater, which they'd gone ahead and ordered. They never stated what prompted the second troubleshooting visit from the "senior technician," but I assume they did so when they discovered that the compressor replacement didn't fix it. So, they had me write them a paper check for the repair of the heater, as they don't take electronic payments, before they would actually install the heater. They did come to my house to pick up the check. So, I guess that's a plus. However, apparently the senior technician also incorrectly identified the heater as the source of the problem and as was the case with the compressor, they never called me back to let me know that the heater had been installed and had apparently failed. So, on 27 July 2026, I AGAIN, had to inquire with them through our property manager, who was informed that the heater didn't fix it either and that there's a leak that can't be repaired and that we need to replace the fridge. The only plus side in all of of this is that Carolina Appliance did process the warranty replacement with Whirlpool. However, Whirlpool informed us that a replacement fridge could take up to another 6 weeks to deliver. So, we went ahead and purchased a new fridge from Lowe's which was installed on 5 August, 2 months after we called Carolina Appliance in the first place. We have received the warranty replacement as well, because (Murphy's Law) it only took a week to arrive. In summary, I highly Carolina Appliance LLC perform a drastic stand down to review their troubleshooting practices, their communication procedures, and just their business practices over all.

In the past, we've gone to Lowe's but the appliance repair guy who pulled the plug (pun intended) convinced us to check out this appliance retailer as they stand behind their installations, as well as offering competitive pricing. It's part of the same strip that houses Sesame Burgers and several other small retailers. We were warmly greeted and though the gentleman we were told to ask for was running late, Chip suggested that we look around and that he would answer our questions. The showroom was not large, but, the refrigerator selection appeared to be adequate. Our decision was quick in that a 33", 25 cubic foot fridge, was now considered a special order. We had no time to spare. Chip was able to schedule delivery the next day on a GE with French doors and bottom load freezer the next day. Sold! We received a delivery confirmation that evening and a text message the next morning with a delivery window. Installation was a breeze. Plugs employs their own installers. By noon the next day, I was happily on my way, re-stocking my new fridge and freezer. I was always a big-box shopper but now I'm sold on 'the little guy.' You will be, too. Make Plugs your first stop when shopping for a new home appliance.
