I started using a CPAP machine and it took three months for me to receive it. All my details were correct, but they sent it to my old address. After contacting them, I discovered they had indeed used the wrong address. I verified that all my information was correct, and they sent it to my doctor's office. I eventually found out that they had sent it there, and, finally, it was sent to me. I had enrolled in the automatic supply delivery service, but I received a call from Apria saying that my insurance had not approved the supplies. They asked me to contact my insurance, and shortly after that, it was approved. The supply is always delayed, wasting the client's time, and it seems to be a hardship for the company to send the supply despite being approved by the insurance company. This company needs to develop common kindness and accuracy when sending their equipment. Hope they will acknowledge they are dealing with humans whose medical needs rely on the equipments. read more

I would give a lower review, if possible. I ordered C-PAP supplies from Apria and they put me on auto-ship without my consent. The mask that I received did not come with the headband to attach the mask to my face. I contacted Apria and requested they send me the strap needed to make the mask usable. They billed me and my insurance for the full correct order. Apria asked me to use the old clip and strap and assured me that the full mask would come with my next order. I received my next order which also did not come with the strap making the mask unusable. When I contacted Apria again it was past 30 days so they refused, once again, to correct the defective order and provide the part that was missing and paid for. The first person I spoke with disconnected our call. The next person "Shy" was very rude, refused to connect me with a supervisor and then hung up on me. The 3rd time I called I spoke with Martin who continued to leave me on hold and told me after 19 minutes coming back every few minutes to put me on hold again and tell me that a supervisor was not available. He then told me that a supervisor would call me back. I have not received a return telephone call. read more

Apria was great about delivering the medical equipment needed, but when called to pick the equipment up is when everything fell apart! We were told the equipment would be picked up the following day, when I called to get a window of time to have the equipment picked up I was told the pickup had been moved to the next day. We were not called to ask if that would work, nothing! The next 2 days would not work and informed them of this! Who changes the schedule without informing the customer???? After being on hold for several minutes and being made to feel guilty the pickup was scheduled for the original pickup day. This is the reason for the 3 stars! They fail to remember that they are a "healthcare" provider-- so their clients are either, sick, ailing, elderly or dying.. or all of the above. Several times, I have informed both the local employees here in Bakersfield and those at corporate level that I have not had that insurance since 2020. Just yesterday, due to the uncooperative employees in Bakersfield, I called the 800 corporate number and was informed by the rep that she needed to verify my "Kaiser Permanante" coverage. OMG!! 2 1/2 years of telling them this, and they still can't get it right!!! Do they not use computers and technology??? Rude reps, hour long hold times on the phone, and get this.. they do not accept walk in customers, even those who are established clients... at least not here in Bakersfield. My Doctor sent a referral for a sleep apnea machine on 2/16/2024. I called today on 3/5/2024 and they said it's missing the Doctors NPI number. Well, you can Google the doctors NOI number and it takes 30 seconds. They said it must be on the prescription. Ok, you can't do it for three weeks until I call??? Also during the call to the office it was so loud in the professional office that the lady couldn't even hear me. She couldn't figure out I guess how to take me off speakerphone so she could actually hear what I'm saying. Total incompetent office!!! read more

If I could put zero stars I would. Don't be fooled by this company and read the fine print! These people took advantage of me in my weakest times. After my baby being in the Nicu I was offered to rent a breast pump from aprea. When signing to rent the pump, they said I could rent it for one year and then they would come pick it up from my house (if things sound too good to be true, trust your gut). I said I live very rural are you sure? They assured me yes they will pick it up. Long story short, 30 days after I had the pump they wanted it back. Which is fine didn't belong to me and someone gave me the wrong information. No prob, come pick up your pump like you said. Lady number one who calls from apria says they can't come pick it up but will send a fed ex box. I say ok. Wait 2 weeks box never comes. Call back talk to lady number 2, informs me she can't find anything about me renting a pump and I should just go to the local office closest to me (which is 2 hours away). Next I get a bill for $427. You can see where this is going. Very difficult company to deal with I don't recommend them at all. read more

My husband has had obstructive sleep apnea since 2019. He is an American Indian. The supplies for his CPAP machine would be paid for by the American Indian Health services here in Bakersfield. However, after six weeks of runaround, none returned phone calls and inconsistent instructions. Bottom line is Apria would not except payment from Indian Health Services. I called Mercy respiratory services. They have all the supplies we need for his Apria CPAP machine and they will accept payment from Bakersfield American Indian Health Services. read more

This company rarely delivers my prescriptions. I typically get a prescription in April, and I have to follow up with them 9-10 times, and if I actually get the supplies for my durable medical equipment, it is 6-8 months later and it's never the full order. It's December and I still haven't gotten all of my supplies. They will sometimes deliver supplies that don't go with my equipment and try to convince me to keep it. If you have options for other vendors, I suggest you go elsewhere. Im in the hospital today, and they had a prescription for a new piece of equipment since this morning. Apria is the worst DME and Oxygen provider I've ever dealt with in 40 years. I've been on oxygen for 3 years and changed insurance to Humana and Apria is the oxygen provider. In January it took them over a month to bring me my equipment. Went on vacation in May gave Apria over one month to get me a portable unit to take with me on the plane. They called the day I was leaving with the approval but could not get the unit to me in time so I went 2 weeks without oxygen. Today has been two weeks since I got authorization for a portable pulsing oxygen unit and followed up with the supervisor who is supposed to be on it. Nothing but let downs, disappointments and SERVERE lack of patient safety and responsibilities. File a complaint and right a Yep review if you have experienced the same difficulties. read more

I was required to go home from the hospital with oxygen. It was supposed to be delivered to my home before 5 pm. At 4:00 they called me to tell me they wouldn't be able to make it and I needed to pick the oxygen tanks up uby 5pm at their facility. 2 weeks later I called to have my oxygen tanks refilled. They said they were out but needed the tanks to send for refill. Apparently they ship them somewhere to be refilled. A month later when dropping off equipment I pulled up in the coned area and called the number on the sign for help. There was a 15 min wait on the phone and then was told they would send someone out soon. 45 mins later I went in the office to ask if anyone was coming out. They said shortly someone would help me. I was another 10 mins and when he did come out he helped a car that had just pulled up before me. Terrible customer service! read more

They initially called me and told me they needed more information from my doctor (they had everything they needed from the start) and then I got the run around for weeks - transferred between the Bakersfield and Lancaster offices. Dr. Had me get a mobility walker, I got out of the hospital last thursday 10/21/2021Apria had me waiting at the hospital on the walker till almost 6 pm after being there for 6 dayes, I was ready to go home. I was assured they would deliver the next day at my home. Well it is here Tuesday morning and no Walker. When I finally got ahold of someone yesterday she said she didn't know if there was one scheduled to be delivered today or not because they had no electricity, so she couldn't look it up. And I'm like well you've known since last Thursday and the electricity was on then wasn't it? She said let me call my Supervisor and I'll call you right back. Well that never happened. So, I can already see this is gonna be a frigging sh*t show from all of the lovely reviews I've read this morning. And I've only had one cup of coffee. I'm gonna need more I can already tell. I have to agree with most of the reviews I see - Apria is the worst company I've ever dealt with in my 79+ years of life. It is run by the most incompetent people imaginable. Customer service is non-existent. Needs to be renamed "customer no-service". Agents are personable but nothing is ever followed through to solution. Here's my problem. Around September/October 2019, I had a COPD flare-up. Oxygen therapy was prescribed and Apria (who has a contract with Kaiser, I assume) delivered an oxygen concentrator. I used it one night and next day called Apria to have it picked-up for return. After a week, or so, it was picked up. Then, in December 2019 I received a statement saying I owed $39.76. What the statement said - "Apria was chosen by a physician to provide your medical services". Not realizing it was for the oxygen concentrator, I paid the amount due. Then, I started receiving monthly statements for $19.89 - same wording. On the 4th statement, the "light went off" and I thought something isn't right. So, on April 16, 2020, I called the 800 number and talked to Norma. After explaining to her that the equipment had been returned back in 2019, she told me she would research it and for me to call back in 24-48 hours. On April 17, I called again and talked to a Bell (I think that's the right name). She told yes, I was right and a refund for $59.67 was requested. I told her that was and incorrect amount as I had payment confirmations for 4 payments totaling $79.56. I was told a refund would be requested. Then, on April 20, 2020, after not receiving any refunds, I called again and talked to Patricia and was told that a refund was in the process. After waiting 10 days I sent an email to their main office. No response. Posted a comment on their Facebook page - same thing. To date, 04/29/202, I have not received any refunds from Apria Healthcare. So, In desperation, I'm in the process of submitting a complaint to the California Attorney General in this matter. It is obvious as H___ no healthcare facility should have anything to do with the company. In any other line of business, Apria's performance would have resulted in bankruptcy. I don't expect anything to result from this review, but at least I got it off my chest. read more

We have dealt with this company for almost 10 yrs. and they have been awful. Our doctor couldn't get download information timely, if ever, their local office staff was inconsiderate and we are happy to be moving on to another provider. We also have friends that have been stuck with this company as well and their opinion is not different from ours. The only time we got decent service was they called to see if we needed more supplies (more money for them). I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

For sleep apnea patients, they have consistently provided me with excellent service. However, their previous customer service was based on FOREIGN CSRs who caused confusion and ill will. I have received excellent customer service by phone and in person for years from the local store. Today, SUZANNE gave me an excellent "hands on" training on a new CPAP machine; answered questions I had puzzled over concerning the causes and dimensions of sleep apnea; left me feeling totally confident that I could take advantages of better features of new device. I'm not surprised by all the one star reviews. If I could give them zero I would. My mother is 85 and has lung cancer. She was discharged from the hospital this afternoon with an oxygen tank that would last 4 hours. We were assured that Apria would be to their home by 9:30 pm as her only tank would be empty. I called Apria to report that she only had 1/2 tank left. I was assured again the driver would be here by 9:30. I called again at 9:30 and I was told it would be sometime between 10pm and 2am and there wasn't anyone else in the company that could bring another tank while we wait for the driver to bring the concentrator. It is now 10:30, her tank has been empty for an hour, her oxygen saturation is 87% and I'm calling 911. I've never seen such horrible customer service in healthcare! I had to be on their ass calling to see what was the status on her referral. Once they finally told me that it was ready for pick up, I show up and they said that the referral had expire and they need to resubmit. So we had to wait other week to get it. I was prescribed a CPAP machine and related equipment. Nearly two months ago. After waiting weeks, I called Apria to determine the hold-up. They said they had received the request but not the prescription. I contacted the Dr. who confirmed that it had been sent, but that Apria could not locate it in all the paperwork. 10 days later, I received a call from Apria to complete a very long form and send it back. I did this with 10 minutes. More than a week later I call Apria again to see where the equipment was, and they explained that they were waiting for the form. When I provided proof that it had been sent, they found it in the file on somebody's desk. "They forgot to submit it", is what I was told. I was then told it would be another week. When I checked with customer service, they advised two days. Well, It is a week later, and they are still promising that it will arrive sometime in the future. My experience started out a little rough. I made numerous phone calls to them and got nothing but the run around. I sent and my doctor sent every thing they asked for and required for my c pap. I got to the point where I was done dealing with them. Bad processors. After over 3 months, I finally got a positive response. I had to actually get angry with them. Worst billing people EVER! I had a knee replacement on October 2nd, 2018. Before being discharged from the hospital I had to have a walker issued to me. It's covered by my insurance but somehow, it's not being billed correctly and I have been receiving a ******* bill every month. (Plus phone calls from Apria inquiring when I am going to pay it.) Tonight I finally blew my stack over this. Look, the bill is $33 (not a big deal to some, may be a bigger deal to others) but the point is: I shouldn't have to pay it, and if they would bill it correctly, I wouldn't have to. Just for my own sanity, (and to keep a $33 bill from ruining my credit) I paid the ******* thing - but I hope to never have to deal with this company again. If if you can avoid it - don't use them! I am having surgery to replace my other knee in two weeks. Luckily, I can use the same walker that I officially "own" now. My 70 year old mother has been waiting for a replacement walker that her Medicare purchased three months ago but wheels fell off three months after purchase. They keep telling her that they are coming out to replace and it's been over a week. I called today to complain and spoke with Phil who would not let me talk to supervisor but would have it delivered today. Guess what Phil no walker I guess they don't understand these simple devices mean so much who needs to hem to perform daily requirements we take for granted like being able to get to the bathroom or kitchen. My insurer uses Apria so all prescribed equipment comes from them. They delivered a wheelchair after my husband was released from the hospital last Thursday (2/17/2022) so I would have a way to transport him to doctor appointments. The wheelchair is so heavy I can't lift it in the car. When they delivered it I told them it wasn't going to work. The delivery person suggested I try to lift it. When I did, I pulled a muscle in my back. He then told me to call and schedule a pick up. I don't know why they didn't take it when they left!! So I called to schedule a pick up and had to wait until Tuesday (2/22/2022) before they were available. I told her it would have to be AFTER 2:00 p.m. because my husband had an appointment in oncology and we would not be home until then...she said no problem, She would make a note of that on pick up order. We arrived home at 1:15 from doctor appointment and there was a note on my door SORRY WE MISSED YOU, they had come at 11:58 a.m (apparently they couldn't read the notes) I called back to let them know that they had been early and the rep said they wouldn't be able to return that day and she would have to rescheduled AGAIN for another pick up for Thursday (today) I asked what time would they be here and she said...Oh, sometime before 9 p.m. WHAT?!!! I have not heard a word from the delivery people. I called Apria's number to check and make sure it was actually scheduled, and I was told I was on schedule but there were 5 or 6 more stops before mine! So I have been here all day waiting for Apria to pick up this wheelchair because THEIR people SCREWED UP to begin with...HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! If I could give MINUS stars I would! read more

Needed oxygen for my father to use with his C Pap. Got the oxygen machine plus 3 other bottles that were not ordered or needed. When I inquired why so many, their response was in case power went out! Well, the C Pap isn't going to work either if the power goes out!! Machine wouldn't work. Someone came out late at night and said there was a kink in the hose. The following night machine wouldn't work....so after a couple of days he came at 9:00 at night. My father was already in bed!! Finally after calls we got it through their head the machine was malfunctioning!! Received a new machine..works great! The extra bottles have never been picked up even Kaiser Respatory called in the error. We keep getting calls for past due amount for the 1st month..ha!! It didn't work!! At one time we were told the charge would be reversed for machine failure and inconvenience. Hasn't yet. Still calling. I tried to call their number and it hangs up can't get through to them!! What business is it of theirs, yet i couldn't get one from them without my doctor giving them the information.
