But once I get a hold of somebody, everyone, and I mean, everyone has been very, very helpful. Apria is hands-down the most incompetent company I have ever dealt with across any industry. Their service is a nightmare for anyone already struggling with health issues. They routinely screw up basic orders, and when equipment finally arrives, it's often old, worn out, or literally falling apart. The billing department is even worse; I constantly receive "mystery bills" that lack any itemized breakdown of what I am actually being charged for. Trying to get a straight answer from customer service is impossible, as you are passed from one agent to another with no resolution. Why can't I give 0 stars? Apria is the worst COMPANY (not just healthcare or DME supplier) that I have EVER dealt with. They routinely screw up orders, send bills with no information about what I'm being asked to pay for, and send old and falling apart equipment (a hospital bed that they didn't include an overall height adjustment crank with.) One time, they overcharged me and kept my money as a "credit balance" and NEVER TOLD ME, until I notice while looking at my account. They sent me co-pay bills that do not tell me what the co-pay is for. Today they sent me a link to a "signed document" to download for my records. The link didn't work (telling me that I'd entered MY last name, MY date of birth and MY zip code incorrectly. Then their "customer service" representative yelled at me because I couldn't use the link correctly. She then put me in some billing call queue when I tried to get her to understand that I KNOW HOW TO USE A FREAKING LINK! Kaiser is ending their relationship with them on March 1, and I've asked my Kaiser providers (physical therapist, for one) to cancel any orders that have been placed for me with Apria and wait until the switch over to reorder equipment that I really could use SOONER. But I will NOT deal with them any longer. They are ridiculous and don't seem to give a ^%$#@ that they are a lousy company. This is the absolute worst company I have ever used, I have had to call them 19 times (so far) and spent over 20 hours talking to the most incompetent people (with a couple of exceptions). Their IT systems are the worst and their staff is clearly only reading from a script. The have failed at every part of the process (from ordering, fulfillment, delivery, billing, and communication. I have requested a call from a senior manager and was told I would receive one within 24 hours (2 weeks ago), but, like all their other promises that I would get callbacks from supervisors, it never came. I see the vast majority of reviews of Apria Healthcare are awful. At least I know I'm not the only person experiencing such horrible service. read more

my husband was in the hospital, they put a machine on his leg for uclers and it was to painful, he declined the equipment. Apria called and sent notices that we owed $1,060.24 for our portion of the equipment we took home. I called and told them we did NOT have the machine it was left at the hospital after 1 day of use. A month later they picked the equipment up at the hospital in the room he was discharged from. After 8 months of calling, filing 2 grievances w Kaiser and calling customer service 4 or 5 times, Kaiser sent me a check to pay Apria. I'm glad Kaiser change equipment providers. read more

Funny that I left a bad review in 2022. It's now July 2025 and I've been trying to return a call to Apria and I've called back and waited on hold over a half dozen times. They need me to see them for a titration test before I can receive my portable oxygen concentrator. No one seems to be able to transfer me to the right dept or they hang up accidentally. It's been over an hour and I'm spelling my name to an agent again. Update, I find out I keep getting transferred to Sacramento because Concord Apria doesn't answer the phone. No oxygen for me for a while. Apria is okay with other things like wheelchair delivery but all my oxygen interactions have been problematic. I will try again tomorrow. read more

Wow,what a cool service! I was going to spend my own money get buy my mom a walker with a seat, but our doctor was able to order this. Tony the staff there at Apria was able to get it billed to our insurances so I didn't have to pay anything! Then he took the time to put it together a show me how to use it and to be careful with the brakes,etc. He was amazing and so diligent! Such great service! read more

I dropped by with no appointment after my respiratory therapist at Kaiser told me to do so. Apparently that isn't the correct procedure, but I was greeted by Tony at the front desk who handled my unscheduled drop in excellently. He was friendly and informative, and got me the equipment I came for. Going to Apria unannounced is about as fun as going to the DMV with no appointment, but Tony delivers a much friendlier experience. read more

Not a customer-driven experience. Example: First Cpap resupply was billed to my credit card instead of insurance. When I called in I was told I had to call back to talk to the billing department the next day - even though the rep had confirmed the issue, they could not simply message the billing department to correct. This leaves me with yet another 40-minute wait on hold to correct their error. Second example. I needed a simple change of pressure on my machine. It's been a week and their reps have not yet made the change. Third example. Their website advertises a home sleep test - but not a single rep knows about it. read more

If zero was an option, this would be my selection. I've been trying to pry my cpap machine and supplies out of them since early this spring. Apparently their "back office" is in a coma. I've called repeatedly and submitted forms and other documents over and over. Also had the documents sent from my doctor's office. Every time I contact them, the response is always we don't have anything in our records. No option to escalate my issues to someone who actually knows what they are doing. I have been a customer of Apria Healthcare Supplies for 5-6 years and have had no issues until the last 6 months. My insurer, UHC has a contract with Apria where Apria complies with a schedule of sending supplies to me on a quarterly basis. These supplies are fully covered as long as Apria complies with the schedule. Apria did not comply with the schedule in 2025 and UHC did not cover a shipment. Apria is looking to me to cover this shipment which I have refused. I refuse to cover for their incompetence. I will find another Healthcare Equipment Supplier after not getting any resolution through 3 discussions with them. I have been threatened with a referral to a collection agency. I have told them to not call me in the future but they are still at it. read more

Zero stars. Took 4 months to get new mask since my old one was discontinued. Finally got one, and was inferior to the one discontinued. After one month use, top straps broke. I'm so displeased with the services they provided me regarding my CPAP! I went for a mask fitting but was instead provided a nasal mask for a different brand! The therapist didn't even bothered fitting me with any mask that would be comfortable and effective! I haven't used my CPAP for months now because of ill fitting mask but this company is too big for its breeches! I wish I could report them to the state licensing or accreditation! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, My Bill was never correct. They kept telling me my insurance was "inactive". But my insurance telling me I'm active AND in the network. This caused a big round and round between both companies. So until that got straightened out I continue to keep my equipment by paying out of pocket then somebody shows up at my house to pick up all the equipment. They didn't inform me at all. Then they still continued to bill me. Local office is not in sync with billing. This place is a HOT mess. Avoid like the plague. read more

I've had great phone calls and I've had absolutely horrible phone calls... so I don't know if this is any help but I didn't have any choice because it's who my healthcare provider contracted with. A completely unorganized vendor. I picked them for my CPAP device because they serve Kaiser. BUT, ... Beware. Maybe those who punch 1 for Kaiser get better treatment, but the rest of us have to call back numerous times for the most basic reasons. Hold times verge on 15 minutes, which they blame on "being busy". But one must call for the most ordinary things that should be handled on-line. But they are not automated. So the phone lines are overwhelmed. After months of back-and-forth, I got a letter (dated 11/09, but rec'd 11/22) questioning my adherence to Medicare guidelines, saying they could not bill Medicare and I would have to pay for my CPAP before they would ship. How can I comply when I have not yet gotten the CPAP! Then the phone # in the letter is not right, so after that hold time, you get transferred to a new number, and are told to punch 4, for another wait. The person who answered the phone said to just ignore the letter -- her records show my device has shipped. I don't know whether to cry or laugh! UPDATE: I tried to go into my account to check billing. Well, even with a balance due, you can't enroll in billing until a month after you've been billed. And the "/" in the account number in any letter you get means to put those last 4 numbers before the letters and numbers: So, for example, Letter says: Account#: ABC1234/0987, but real account # is: 0987ABC1234 Have these people even been to an accounting school? read more

Every time I need to contact them about something (i.e., status of my CPAP mask, O2 equipment, status of an order for a BiPAP machine, etc), after suffering interminable hold times, I'm told one excuse or another about why it's not available or can't be done. God forbid, someone reach out to you to tell you your order got misplaced or was declined by insurance, or you weren't eligible or some other reason. If I could give them zero stars, they'd get it. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get oxygen supplies reordered- there is no online option, you have to call and wait on hold 40+ minutes and even then are often disconnected. Occasionally it will randomly go to voicemail and says they'll call back same day but do not. Last week when I miraculously got connected with someone, I asked to set up a recurring delivery to avoid the weekly hassle, was told it was done.... And yet today they say no order was ever placed, they have no notes on file, etc - and we are out of oxygen waiting for their incompetence- specifically the rep named Ladonna. Excellent service, care and support. I was in the ICU and needed a wheelchair that day. They delivered to the hospital. I needed to later change the chair for a smaller wheel base and Chris, the logistics manager, sent Ryan out with a replacement. Ryan was friendly, helpful and caring and was willing to bend over backwards to make sure I received what I needed. I would give 5 stars if they had a way of leaving a message and returning my calls. This is a 1.5 star review and it's not even of this location, it's for the company. My CPAP machine died after 20 years! I know but no insurance... Anyhoo, when I first got it years ago, I had an appointment at Kaiser (of course I was insured), went to the Fremont location, went to my...this is how you use this class..., put it in my car, went home and then started using it. I'd order new supplies every three months or so and they'd come to my house, for free. Delivered in the truck and everything. That is, until I became uninsured. I wrote about one of my adventures looking for CPAP supplies in Berkeley, a huge mistake! I finally found what I wanted on Amazon, through trial and error. So, I'm insured and want my machine because the old one finally gave up the ghost two days before starting my new job. But now, my old sleep issues have resurfaced with a vengeance and I need my machine. So I call back and have my phone consult with Kaiser. I have to pay 20% of the cost of everything. They give me the number to call at Apria, so they don't order it anymore? So I call and talk to a wonderful guy named Stan (not his name, but...). Anyway, Stan takes my information and tells me that once he runs my card that I will receive my machine in 2-3 days, not the 6-8 weeks, quoted by my guy at Kaiser. He also said that they'd deliver it to my hubby's studio because we have thefts in our building(s). We talked about how horrible it was, blah, blah, blah and I hung up expecting a machine within three days.Still with me? I'm elated. But then, I'm checking my email for something. A contract, a contact, an F-you? Something. So, I call back three days later because I was expecting a confirmation email or something. It turns out that my card was never run, my shipping address was never changed, and they don't know when I'll get my machine because they corporate office takes the order and the location closest to me fulfills it. They don't know the inventory at that location. So, I got the contract with the wrong address on it. The woman ran the card, and the price on the card and the invoice was different. $92.00 which was 20% of the cost of the machine. But it' not $150. So I do get the contract via email with all of the wrong information. The person on the phone said that she was going to report the previous representative to her manager because he straight up lied to me and that concerned her. It still has the wrong address. So then, I call back a third time. This time, I'm sent the contract showing the price of the tubing, mask, headgear, blood test, etc., for a look see. Then the $150 deposit makes more sense - good. My delivery address is changed - better. But, I get a bunch of emails saying that I haven't signed the contract, which I'd already signed. So, it turns out that my order is being held up, because the (FYI) contract (didn't know it was a contract)l had to be signed. Ay!!! You know we are just starting and it isn't looking good. I wish I could just go and pick it up, like I did last time. This just blows! read more

One star is generous. Concord location will not answer the phone and main order desk is unable to explain why they can't locate a fax that was sent in 5 times from my doctor and myself. Fax receipts show they were delivered in good order. This has also happened several times in the past. They just say to keep calling back and cannot connect me to a supervisor. Their customer service call center is in the Philippines and are nothing short of a NIGHTMARE to deal with. I had a charge show up over 1 year after I received anything from them. I did not have ANY problems with them at all. When had my yearly follow up with the Dr, I was told I had to go to Apria. I told them NOPE and told the Dr everything that I had gone thru with Apria. I was then told that Apria did an overhaul and the customer service was now in the US. So I gave it another try in June 2023. Got all of my supplies,. Mid December 2023 I received a email that I could do 3 months supply shipped to me, so I filled out the form and and received a confirmation email. End of January comes around and no supplies so I called. I was told it would be there in a week which it was. I received everything that I was supposed to except only 2 cushions (I am suppose to replace once a month). I called mid April asking about it and was told my insurance covers once a month replacement cushion but only 2 shipped out at once. I was told because my insurance was billed already for my next 3 month they could not send my 3rd cushion. I ended up buying it myself. Just called again about 4 weeks later because I have not received my 3 month supplies. I was told it would be mailed out in July . Yet again no notes about my previous phone call. I then asked where she was physically located and she said a Asia Country. I told her thank you and hung up. I could care less where workers are but in my experience this company did not hold anyone accountable for their actions. Once again I was lied too. read more

I had a problem with my CPAP machine as it wouldn't read the SIM card. I called the national help line and they suggested several things which didn't work. It was decided that I should contact the local (Concord, Ca) office and bring it there for servicing. I tried calling but after being on hold for 1/2 hour or so and then being dropped, I decided to just go to the Concord office. Once there, I told them about my issue and Tony, the person on duty was very helpful and got my cpap machine operating again. THANKS TONY!!! The problem with phone calls with the Concord office is that they're short staffed (what company isn't). Best to go into the office and get your machine attended to. read more

They have terrible customer service. It is rare that they answer the phone. You are on hold for 15 minutes and then they have you leave a message that might or might not be returned. My cpap is broken. I actually have covid and kinda need my machine right now more than ever. I've tried getting help multiple times over the last week. They tried getting me to trouble shoot it. Uhm...... yea right. I tried all that. I missed a call back and called immediately back but nothing again. A person would pick up, take all of my information then put me on hold. What an inept business this is, almost deceitful. I checked on some medical equipment and the guy says my portion of the cost will be "958" and asked if I'd like to pay now. I paid with my credit card. I checked my card later that night and saw that the charge was not "$9.58" but "$958.65." (I had ordered the equipment once in the past and didn't have to pay anything for it so I figured, okay, $10 is the cost now.) I called the next day to cancel the order and they said it would take 7-21 days but if I don't get anything in 45 days (something like that), then I should call. I ask why would there be anything about 45 days if it's supposed to be refunded in 7-21 days. Red flag. I asked why it would take that long to have a charge reversed on my credit card. It takes them one minute to charge my account and that long to credit me back my money? Other companies reverse charges in 1-3 days. Anyhow, I call back in a week checking on my charge reversal. They tell me the refund request hasn't been submitted yet. Even though I requested it a week ago, they don't do anything with it. If I don't call, then the request just sits there?? So they say they'll submit it and it will take 7-21 days. I call back in three weeks, they tell me AGAIN that the request hasn't been submitted and that they'll expedite the process - 7-10 business days. I'm thinking this business is hurting. Are they doing this to others also? Just holding onto people's money for as long as they can? Maybe to cover operating expenses? After all this, and going onto Yelp, I see that they're only getting 1 1/2 stars, overall, for multiple locations so maybe they are a dying business. I will definitely tell my medical provider to not refer patients to them. read more
