Kaiser ordered a hospital bed to be delivered Friday 2/14 AM . Apria did not show up, and did not call either. Kaiser rescheduled with a live operator at Apria around noon on Friday for a redelivery for Saturday 2/15 AM. Again NO SHOW, NO CALL on Saturday . He also took the time to check out my O2 concentrator : repositioning it correctly beside my bed so that it doesn't overheat, set off sensitive alarms & continue to work properly; explaining & giving me & my wife troubleshooting tips so we don't need to call for service. He also suggested the use of an Infinity Portable O2 Concentrator to make it safer to use while I'm walking outside. I am rating Apria Healthcare a 1 star rating. I got a Cpap machine from Adapt Health in February, but switched to April Healthcare in the late May, early June time frame. I found out by accident over a week ago that I must return the Cpap machine I have to Adapt Health and get a new machine through Apria. I have tried for over a week calling the local Apria Healthcare office in San Leandro, and the lady who answers the phone is NOT customer service oriented. Even though I have confirmed with my insurance provider that there is an authorization number approved for me to get a new Cpap machine, she keeps telling me she doesn't see this in my records. Every time I call the office, I've waited approximately 15 - 20 minutes or more for someone to answer the phone. Twice, the call timed out and I was routed to voicemail and had to start all over again by calling back. It has been a week, and I STILL have not been contacted by Apria to get a new Cpap machine even thought I spoke to the Operations Manager a week ago. Horrible delivery service! Was supposed to get equipment delivered yesterday, didn't come (no biggie) as it could come today. Get a delivery time of 1:30 to 2:30 At 4:30 the delivery driver calls (music on full blast so I can barely hear him) saying he is at my apartment and needs me to come outside to grab my equipment (I'm like I'm sorry sir I'm currently at the hospital can you leave it on my porch). He says he's on the street so I advice him how to get to the gate where he can enter a code then be in front of my house. He says okay and waits a minute then comes back onto the phone like I don't have time for this we will just deliver later and hangs up (umm okay?!) I get home at 7pm and I'm waiting like my equipment still isn't here, not it's 10 pm and he wants to call (music full blast again) like are you home I'm bringing the equipment (what?! It's 10pm sir) so I respond I am home but I am going to sleep so you can place it on my porch like I said earlier, I've been home and waiting. 2023 update My husbands hospital bed had an issue with the motor and initially I was quoted Wednesday for a service call but had asked them if they could try to get someone to come out today well they delivered today and got everything fixed within 10 minutes. Don't ever give them your credit card number. They will keep it on file and charge you for equipment that you have returned. I gave it to them ONCE to authorize a walker and wheelchair. When you call customer service, they can barely speak English and after you get your point across by saying the same thing 5 different ways so they understand, they'll still charge your cc for equipment, and even for equipment that you have long returned. I've asked them in addition to STOP charging my credit card, to send an itemized bill so that I can review, question if I need, and then pay (like how it normally works). These CROOKS wouldn't stop charging the card. But I did start getting bills in the mail though! Now I have to call the cc company to file disputes on monthly recurring charges spanning half a year. This is a card I've had for a long time and that builds good credit, but I may have to shut it down to get away from APRIA. Ridiculous, dysfunctional, and criminal!!! At home with a newborn, April's starts calling and sending threatening text messages daily that I have to return my breast pump in 2 weeks or they'll start charging me (and yes, phone calls woke up the sleeping baby). Called them and they said pump would be picked up next day. Called day 2 and they told me instead fedex would drop off a box. Didn't happen. Called on the day 3, after being on hold for 30 minutes, Apria rep said I should just drop it off in San Leandro. At first, when we called they said we had to pay partial so, we paid even though they originally said it was free. Then 4 months later we received a bigger bill !!! After several reminder phone calls from Apria, I finally had the time to swing by and pick up something from Apria Healthcare. The main entrance is locked by default so Reshmi let me in. She asked why I took a picture of the front, and I said it was for Yelp, of course! She was really helpful and friendly. I'm surprised to read all the negative reviews about this place but I know that everyone's experience and situation is be different. My insurance contracts with Apria and another vendor for my rx CPAP machine. I was told I would need to work with the San Leandro Apria branch due to my address. I spoke to a lady who quoted me my share of cost after insurance for the cpap machine and duration of cpap rental and after a period I would own it. She quoted me a monthly amount. I had to discuss with my spouse first. Then the lady called me again about a week later and I asked her to confirm the quote and details she was giving me and if she can send me a statement. She quoted me a higher amount for monthly than the first quote. She said she couldn't give me the figures she was quoting me in writing. So she told me to speak to billing department after requesting quote on writing especially given the second quote had increased by approx $10.00 a month and then her deposit she quoted me also changed from first call to the second call. When I spoke to a staff in their billing department I got an even higher quote and the rental duration increased as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called my insurance and asked for assistance if they could get a confirmation. Thankfully the healthnet insurance staff agreed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She spoke to a man at San Leandro Apria and said she was informed he wouldn't give her a quote on the deposit he kept telling her it depends on what amount is after processing insurance. Healthnet staff told him she can give the insurance info to process and he still said he couldn't give her any quote. Interesting because the lady I initially spoke to at Apria told me a quote on the deposit. In the end I decided to avoid Apria given the very low reviews and my experience and went with another vendor and they had a discount going on at the time and I used my FSA to pay for it out of pocket bc I felt if I went with Apria I could have possibly paid a couple hundred difference and I preferred the peace of mind. read more

About my experience with Apria Health Care in San Leandro, California. Kaiser Permanente arranged with them to deliver a prescribed CPAP machine to my home; after using it for 1 hour and 35 minutes it registered that I had stopped breathing 28.4 times per hour. I took it to the Kaiser Oakland Sleep Lab and they in turn issued an order to Apria to cancel the CPAP purchase and come to my home to pick it up along with refunding the cost to me, Kaiser, and Medicare. I called Apria seven to ten times to find out when they were going to make the pickup (getting different people on the phone each time) not to mention that their telephone system alone is a marvel of dysfunction in calls being transferred, being disconnected and generally ending up having to repeat my plight again and again. This ended up with them telling me each time that the CPAP could not be picked up or otherwise returned. I've now contacted Kaiser to take up the issue and get it resolved; in the meantime fortunately I have a loaner CPAP from Kaiser that I'm keeping until everything is sorted out. read more

I spent several phone calls and hours of conversations about supplies that i had canceled, and in the end, they sent my account to collections. Do NOT use this company. I will switch as soon as I can. ====================== RUN AWAY. Do NOT use this company. We waited over 7-hours (3:30pm to 10pm) for life-saving equipment and had to fight the driver before he would deliver the equipment - even though he had been parked outside the building for over one hour. UCSF advocated for us during the entire 7-hours to get this "result" (note: UCSF was fantastic and it is NOT UCSF's fault). The equipment were all approved and they were simply Oxygen, standard equipment. Then, driver took away one o2 regulator, but only scratched it off the list of deliverables when I asked. Long version below: If there is a "zero star", that's what this review should be. My mom was discharged from the hospital and Apria was supposed to deliver in 2-hours from discharge. Working with UCSF case workers, delivery was supposed to be 3:30-5pm. Then, 5:30pm. Then "soon". Then, it was 7:15-9:30pm. Apria said driver was supposed to call me - driver NEVER did. 9:30pm no show. Called Apria and told them we have to leave - my mom may have to return to hospital tomorrow but we have to leave & go home to our families. Walked out ~10pm. Apria truck was sitting there since 9pm according to building security (thIs is a senior home). We approached the driver, he said order was cancelled. We explained situation and he started arguing with us. I called Apria and UCSF case worker, finally they convinced him to deliver the equipment. We didn't finish until close to midnight. The driver blamed "us" because he claimed Apria gave him a different contact number for the family, etc. The guy said we do not need one of the "o2" tank regulators from the delivery list but only scratched it off my list when I asked him to do so.
