I have had Apria health for a long time. I had not needed the office until now. My lovely Obamacare insurance is not paying for my oxygen delivery and I am fighting with the insurance company. I learned of all of this while calling Apria's 1-800 number. The lady on the phone told me to take my tanks to the office and I could get replacement tanks, as I need them for when i am away from my home. Not once did any mention of collection agaency or payment, they were trying to help me and offered this unknown info, any patient cannot be denied oxygen, even if there is a billing issue. She did not have to tell me this, but did, as what I call a true kindness. I then went to find the location of the office on the internet and after reading all the negative comments here I was very concerned about going to do this. When I arrived about 10 am the lady at the front desk was very friendly. I told her of my problem and she spent more time trying to find my account, because it was not entered properly in the computer. Once she found my account, she made an immediate work order for more tanks. She told me to just drive around back and that was it. I thanked her and drove around to meet the warehouse guys. After I told them the work order was printed to them, they again assisted me immediately, took my used tanks and even gave me extras until i could get my problem resolved. Very polite, courteous people all around, faster getting my tanks than finding me in the system. I was very pleased with my service, the workers and felt compelled to write this because there were so many negative comments. this is my second review of this company. the first review was on google and they got in touch with me. at first I felt heard and understood . Their billing is very sketchy and they can't give me the amount I owe but tell me every month my rental is $18 ,then $60 then $78. when I call they say the same thing and will not give me a correct balance. they can't be the only place in town. this is a horrible rip off!! Been trying to contact local Tucson Apria office. You can't of course because it goes to Phoenix first and then someone says "oh, I'll have the Tucson office call you back." Uh huh..... Trying to get a new CPAP machine. First told they DO have my prescription. Then told they do not have my prescription. I'd call Apria "the worst" company for CPAPs and supplies but unfortunately these companies can get worse. My small independent CPAP supplier here in Tucson was great until they were bought out by Pacific Pulmonary who turned out to be absolutely THE WORST! They didn't even have a phone number to call! So I switched to Apria, who at least have a local presence in Tucson, but . . . sadly they also suck. In pretty much every way. The biggest way is that even though my insurance DOES NOT have a schedule that precludes me from getting my headgear every time I get a mask, Apria INSISTS on providing me a mask without headgear. You can't order off their website because it will say you aren't eligible for anything and they straight up told me "it can't be fixed." This company is totally broken and the system seems to make it very hard to switch. I am definitely looking for a better provider. read more

What a clown show. I have received 3 shipments, the first included a new machine, mask, and equipment. The mask was not what I had requested and I assumed the Doctor made the change. I have now received two more supply shipments that included the original requested mask but no head gear to hold the frame in place. After being bounced around by three different people, not one of whom listened to my question/complaint I was told repeatedly that the headgear was only available every six months. So why are you sending the frame and nasal pillows which cannot be used without the headgear and charging me for it. Furthermore, why are you asking me what equipment I received when you have my records and shipments on file. As soon as I get all the billing out and contact the Doctor and insurance I will find another company to work with. Your accuracy and customer service are sorely lacking. read more

The call center for CPAP supplies is completely disorganized with the shipment process! Do not enroll in auto-shipment! I started CPAP therapy in January of 2024, and from the very first shipment, I did not receive the correct supplies that my doctor ordered. I have had to call several times to have orders shipped correctly, and I have had to go several months with no supplies due to a lack of communication between the call center and the shipping department. Each time I call in, I am told something different yet assured they have fixed the problem, but they have not! I get automated texts trying to ship me supplies when my three months are not up (this is an issie because you could be charhed the full amount of what was shipped as insirance only covers 3 months). Then, if you need to make a change, they delay the order for an additional three months, making you wear the same mask for three months and two weeks. It is horrible, and I do not recommend auto-enrollment at all. Just call in 15 days before each shipment is due! read more

I drove from Oro Valley to South Tucson for a 930 appointment to assess my cpap which was making strange noises. For some reason two people met with me. I waited 10 minutes while heard the 2 people talking about another patient which is a privacy violation and should not have happened. The meeting was just a few minutes getting started when Lorena, the person at the table took a phone call and left the room The other person determined that my cpap should be replaced and had to go to the warehouse to get it which took about 10 minutes. I looked at some of the masks and learned some models on display were outdated. I left with the unit and unfortunately left a notebook where I keep all of my medical and household notes and papers on the cpap. When the office called I told them the items were important and asked them to mail it to me with my paperwork it was "against policy to do that."I called back about 5x and pretty much begged to have items mailed to me. They finally agreed to do so after I told them another office CA has no issue mailing items to patients. Look at the huge markup on everything and they're reluctant to be customer service oriented. The two people who met with me could have been any less enthusiastic about being helpful. I'll be talking with Medicare about this negative experience. read more

Absolutely, spectacularly, the worse customer service experience I've had consistently since AT&T or Direct TV (or okay, Dish or COX)... but hey at Apria they are right up there. Their call center sounds like it's in Manilla and English is not their strength to be sure. Neither is intellect or even common sense. A bunch of robots who only follow a script. I get why, in this litigious society it may be warranted but still, a little common sense would go a long way. They are a machine pure and simple... if you never have to deviate from anyting, they're not the then of the world. That's why they get 1 star (well, that and Yelp doesn't allow Zero stars.) This company is an unprecedented nightmare. Profoundly mismanaged and encumbered by the size of the organization. Hard to get someone on the phone - long waits. If it is a billing issue you have the great honor of getting Mong Su Lu somewhere in Asia that you can hardly understand or have a substantitive conversation with because their English is not proficient. By the time you're finished dealing withnthem your blood pressure is through the roof from exasperationj and you're ready to KILL ! If you request to be transferred back to United States they are argumentative insisting that they can handle the matter at hand. Untenable that Apria, as big as they are is so cheap that their clients have to put up with substandard customer servicde reps to save thyemselves a buck. God be with you if you have a billing issue to resolve - - GOOD LUCK ! My oxygen deliveries are on target and this is only because my delivery man was kind enough to give me his cellphone number to just call him direct to order my delivery each week and thereby being able to eliminate a 20 minute phone call just to order. I used an Apria CPAP in most of 2021. Had a surgery to fix problem and called Apria in August 2021 to return the equipment. CS guy on the phone said "we don't need it back, you can sell it, keep it or whatever..it's yours " Ok fine it went into its case and into storage in my house. Then around November 2021 I received a bill for $971. I called Apria back, the CS on the phone said "don't worry about it, it's an error, please disregard the bill". So then a week ago which is early February 2022, I received the same $971.00 bill so I called Apria a third time - they said back in august 2021 they weren't able to collect from insurance so they converted the terms from a rent to a purchase and now the bill will be sent to collections and I'm stuck on the hook for a piece of equipment I tried to return 6 months ago. They won't take it back and they won't admit to or correct their mistake. Please don't use this company. They have zero customer service and they're shady. The guy on the phone said "send me your current insurance and we'll bill them". Um this new insurance company didn't have me on a policy then. I cannot believe how poorly they handled this. I would really appreciate it if someone with some common sense can reach out to me to help me resolve this. I am getting nowhere with the CSRs. read more

If I could assign a negative number of stars, that is the rating APRIA in Tucson would receive on this review! This Tucson company is a life-threatening company! My sister's doctor placed an order with them to deliver oxygen because of her very low oxygen levels due to active COVID (going down into the 80s). After several days of not hearing from APRIA (In Tucson), she tried calling them and no one was answering the phone. 1 week after the original order, with still no response, she called the Apria home office in Utah to place a complaint, and also asked her doctor to send the order to a different company. The APRIA home office must have called the Tucson office, because she got a phone call from them to apologize. Too Little, too late. I've only written a couple of reviews, and the other two were to give 5 stars, but I felt I should post this review to alert people who have life-threateningly low Oxygen to ask for a different provider beside APRIA in TUCSON. It might save a life of an elderly person who doesn have an advocate. read more

Terrible customer service, my CPap is not functioning correctly and I've requested some other services and am getting no help from the staff here in Tucson. I've left messages and made a call to get an appointment set up but no one seems to care to call so I can get my issues resolved. They may seem nice but trust me your better off going somewhere else unless you want to deal with headaches and terrible customer service. When you call they say recording for quality assurance but I'm not sure anyone is even hearing how poor their staff is operating and just down right lazy the workers are. Been dealing with Apria for a couple of years now. The billing to medicare went well. It's the service I had issues with. I would call for a resupply of a hose, water chamber, head gear, etc. and be told that I could get some filters and nose buds, but I wasn't eligible for the rest for 30 days or so. Dealing with their phone system is horrendous! Sometimes you call and get the Philippines, Mexico, Texas, etc. and all I wanted to do was talk to someone in Tucson where I live. Then I started having issues with the water chambers leaking from a crack along the heater plate. I would call Apria and be told I couldn't have one for 90 days! But I could buy one out of pocket if I wanted to. So about 6 months ago, I returned my BPAP and severed ties with APRIA. I had been supplied by the VA, but about a year ago when the Phillips recall came out, the VA ran out of machines. Now they serve about 5000+ veterans in the Tucson, Sierra Vista area and they are a Gov't agency, but they ran out of CPAP/BPAP units. To date they are still out and my unit has rapped out too. So, yesterday I went to the APRIA office and was given a RESMED BPAP unit. I also learned that these machines are used over and over by other patients until the machine has 3000 hrs. on them. Now I was appalled to learn that I would be getting a used unit!. Does this gross anyone else out? Granted you get new hoses, head gear, nose buds, but......wow! Anyway, I went back to APRIA (they are the only game in town), got a machine and went home. When I went to bed and turned the BPAP on, it sounded like a chainsaw working upon every inhale and exhale. I had to pack it up, can't use it due to the noise it makes. Now it will be another 75 mile trip (one way) back to APRIA. read more

I had an awful experience with Apria. Several years ago, I worked with them and had no issues. When I needed to contact them again recently, it was awful. While discussing medical supplies, the woman on the phone was very mean and condescending. She kept telling me I needed to order extra supplies and when I asked for an explanation, she repeatedly said, "Sir, I just told you." After this went on several minutes, I hung up on her. Within a couple of days, I talked to someone who actually knew what she was doing. Or so I thought. She said they would reach out to me for insurance verification and all that. So I waited... and waited. Twice, my brother told me they contacted him (he was my emergency contact). I was very upset that they called my emergency contact when there was no emergency. Still, no one reached out to me. I verified all of my accurate information prior to all this and it was like it never happened. I sent an e-mail to their customer service department. It took a couple of days for anyone to get back to me and it was very vague and cold. I told them I wanted to cancel my order and needed a referral to another place. They canceled my order but would not provide referrals. I told them they should contact corporate about my complaint if they want to keep their other customers. About two weeks later, I received a voicemail from someone from another department. It felt vague and insincere. He did not apologize or give me a reason to call him back, other than talking about my complaint. I talked about it so much to other people that I do not want to talk about it anymore. I'm not calling him back. I received a referral from my doctor and do not have to work with them anymore. I am a fairly young man and I feel sad that the majority of their clientele are older/elderly/possibly vulnerable adults. I hope they are not treating those people the way they have treated me. I will not be using Apria again. read more

If you have to speak with anyone from the "customer service" center be prepared to be completely frustrated. Communication even between each department usually doesn't exist. I should not have to keep calling to resolve a problem that I have already called about more than once. But I do. On the other hand, the local office personnel have been been very helpful and that is where I usually end up so that they can talk to the who they need to. If it wasn't for them and the Travel department I would have changed along time ago. read more

Update: 4/5/2017 And here we see Apria's "Customer Service" team trying to head off reviews with no response what so ever. If they truly cared about the clients, I would have received a response to my official complaint that was filed a week and a half ago, yet still nothing. I will not reach out to anyone else at Apria, as I have yet to receive any response from the multiple messages and complaints already filed. Original: 3/29/2017 Just like so many of the other reviews, I would give them a 0 star if possible. By far, the absolute WORST company I have ever dealt with. Customer service is atrocious on every aspect. Started with me playing phone tag with the rep to get my machine, literally took over a month to finally have the machine sent to me. I would get a phone call once a week from the same lady stating she was trying to reach me and to call her back. The extension she left was always invalid. I called the general number on 2 separate occasions, only to be told that they had no idea who was trying to call me and would leave a note on my account. Finally get my machine, everything is going great for about 2 or 3 weeks. I then start to have a reaction to the treatments. I contact my Dr, she says that its something I would need to speak to Apria about directly. She has her office attempt to contact Apria. A week later, I haven't heard anything so I reach out myself. Another week later I reach out to my Dr who then has her people reach out again. Finally after another 3 or 4 days I get a phone call, a lady says she is calling from a recorded line and will be sending me to someone that can help me. Great! She transfers the call, a man answers the phone asking what he can help me with...a complete blind transfer. He has no idea what he can do or why I was transferred to him. I hang up because I am furious at this point. I then call to have the machine returned because its obvious at this point they do not have any concern with my health issues caused by the machine. I spend 38 min on hold and finally get a pickup date and time set. This was supposed to occur yesterday, yet no show or call. I again reach out to Apria, another 20+ minutes of waiting, just to be told that the office will not pickup during the time it was set. No one reached out to me to inform me of this however. I will now be physically walking the machine into the local office as I cannot get any resolution to anything. I should also mention that 2 or 3 days ago I filed a complaint online with them, not a single response has been received to that message either. So at this point I have roughly 5 messages out there, 2 being from my Dr. All of which have not received a response. This company has zero concern for customer service, and even less concern with patient health. As a medical worker employee, I will be reaching out to the resources I know we have available to see what can be done. This is absolutely unacceptable business practice for anyone involved in the medical industry. read more

But.... we had an issue with my fathers oxygen while traveling and went into the Tucson office and give high marks to Chris in the warehouse and sherry the secretary up front who were attentive and helped us out of our bind so our father got the correct equipment. Not a fan. I signed in and waited over 15 minutes. My insurance paid 100% for the equipment, and this company insisted that I give them a credit card. When asked why, they said "company policy". I can only guess that they find ways to charge consumers for services not provided. Rude and not helpful. I would STAY AWAY and protect your information (and money). read more

We've had nothing but problems with Apria since my mother required oxygen as a condition of release from St Mary's Hospital in January. Every phone call results in getting transferred from one place to another and then being placed on hold for at least 20 minutes before speaking to a real person. Ordered supplies which were delivered but unfortunately the parts in the box were not what was ordered as shown on the packing list. The concentrator has a broken connector and it took a week before a replacement concentrator was to be delivered. So the message from their automated system says the delivery would be today between 4:30 and 8:30pm. Spoke to a customer support person who told me the delivery would be today between 5:30 and 8:30pm. Gave the customer support person my mother's cell phone number to confirm delivery as she had a Dr appointment in Tucson and we had a person on standby in Green Valley to meet the driver if we weren't home. No call from driver. Arrived home at 4:15pm to see a humidifier (which we didn't ask for) outside the door -- no concentrator -- no note from driver. Called Apria and have just gotten a runaround -- supposed to have a delivery tonight---now 9:45pm and no call back from Apria with status or plans to get the concentrator delivered. Now the delivery is to be tomorrow (not holding my breath). AVOID APRIA HEALTHCARE IF YOU CAN. read more

This company is the worst company I have ever had to deal with. The customer service once you get past the 20-30 hold is terrible. Took 5 months to have a bill set to the correct address after I had to move my aunt into an assisted living facility. Which somehow they had deleted even though the equipment and billing was previously there. Then tried to say I owed "late" fee since I didn't pay the final bill which was mailed to the wrong assisted living facility. They picked up the equipment at one addressed but then billed the old address which I moved her from. They have their heads up their asses, sad to think they are handling life threatening medical issues. Glad we are no longer with them, do your self a favor and see if at all possible your insurance will cover you through a different company. read more

I didn't really have a complaint with Appia I've been doing business with them since April 2017 when I receive my CPAP machine everything is going OK then I got a letter from my insurance company that they had didn't buy a medical coverage with the CPAP and the reason they have the United they said because I had to use the machine and over 30 days in a row which is not true because I'm on machine each and every night Abby in about 6 to 8 hours I checked all my doctors I could not figure out where they got it your bonus report so what I did today when I came home I decide to cut Appia that was going on so I called them as that used to have machine yes I learned it will because of my medical getting denied so I called him with a going to the street they said tomorrow that's terrible because really this is not been doing medical help him breathe do that Mr. notify me first but they won't do it so we can find other ways of doing it so well not trustworthy already every review on here last year the same as I do so if you think about when I pick healthcare places for their medical equipment and that's all I have to say a nap so I'm going to post this review because people should know what to expect when I deal with Appia thank you read more

I can't believe all the negative reviews. My 91 year old father visited me from Chicago where he has oxygen at home provided by Apria. He uses it as needed and it appeared he would be needing it during his visit. I called Apria and they were very helpful in setting us up with everything needed to make his stay safe and enjoyable. I had to pick up the items and return them because I didn't give a two week advance notice. I'll be sure to give notice next time so they drop off and pick up. Everyone there was friendly and very helpful. We did have to give a credit card but I'm sure that was in case we didn't return the equipment. If there are any surprise charges, I'll amend this review but at this time I am very happy with the service. read more

Stay away. They keep your credit card number and charge your card without authorization. They do not respond to emails. They are impossible to get hold of by phone. Unless you want your credit card charged, unless you want your account sent to collections, unless you want to deal with inaccurate bills, stay away. read more

Apria is the medical equipment supplier approved by medicare and insurance companies but they have the WORST coustomer service ever. I have been trying to contact the about a billing for a couple of weeks and have NEVER gotten to speak to anyone. I was on hold the first time for 20 minutes, next day 17 minutes, next call (different number) 8 minutes and then dropped. But if I am late paying a bill I think is erroneous, they will report it to the credit bureau!!! TERRIBLE COMPANY! I basically believe that a company's customer service attitude starts at the top and goes throughout the organization. So I know what kind of executives work here.
