Lovely princess costume as she waits for her mani/pedi
    Ty C.

We had such a lovely time! My niece loved picking out her princess outfit. There were so many beautiful options in all sizes. She especially enjoyed her mani-pedi, and the staff was incredibly kind and patient. The space was clean, well-maintained, and very welcoming. It's a great experience for both boys and girls, with something fun for every child. The whole environment is kid-friendly and perfect for all ages, and the refreshments for parents were a nice touch. Such a fun and memorable outing. We'll definitely be back!

    Movie star treatment

My daughter had the best time at April Rae by the Sea! From the moment we walked in, she felt so special. She absolutely loved getting all glammed up, and the staff made the whole experience fun, welcoming, and memorable. The attention to detail was wonderful, and you can tell they truly care about making every little girl feel pampered and confident. Seeing her smile from ear to ear made it all worth it. We can't wait to come back for another spa day! Highly recommend for a special treat or birthday celebration.

The decor is in the style of a typical California country club, in a rancho style with plaid carpets. Food was standard for banquet style events - salad, chicken with vegetables and mashed potatoes and cake for dessert. Wouldn't say it was amazing but solid. Ample parking behind a gate and private, a large shrub covers the sides of the lot.

We got married at Old Ranch Country Club 7 years ago, and it was truly an unforgettable experience . From start to finish, everything turned out beautifully. Planning & Communication: The planner we worked with was excellent -- super responsive, organized, and easy to communicate with . Planning a wedding with around 300 guests can be overwhelming, but they handled everything so smoothly and professionally, which made the entire process feel much less stressful. Scenery & Setting: The gazebo overlooking the golf course was absolutely stunning . It made for the most romantic ceremony setting and incredible photos. The lush greenery and open views gave such an elegant, serene vibe -- we were in love the moment we saw it . Food & Reception: The food was delicious -- and feeding 300 people is no small task! Everything was well-prepared, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Even years later, guests still tell us how much they loved the food . Pricing: This is definitely a higher-end venue, but you get what you pay for. Wedding packages typically range from around $10,000 and up, with per-person costs often around $200+, depending on guest count, menu, and upgrades. For a large wedding like ours, it felt worth it for the service, space, and overall experience . What We Loved Most: * The gazebo ceremony site overlooking the golf course * Seamless coordination for a large 300-guest wedding * Fantastic communication from the planning team * Amazing food that guests still remember * So many gorgeous photo spots Final Thoughts: If you're looking for a venue that can beautifully handle a large wedding, offers breathtaking scenery, and delivers on food and service, Old Ranch Country Club is an amazing choice. Our wedding day turned out better than we imagined, and we'll always treasure the memories made here .

Our family recently celebrated our son's HS graduation party at XO Lounge. We had a wonderful…read morebeginning-to-end experience that included incredibly responsive, thorough, and professional communication with Jamie--the main contact in charge of booking, planning, and operational oversight. On the day of the event, Hope, Hai, Lola (bartender) and the remaining staff were unbelievably helpful, accommodating--and integral to our efficient set-up and smooth execution of a successful celebration. XO Lounge is a very posh venue with modern décor. The nightclub vibe and setup provided the core foundation--that minimized decorative needs for our graduation-themed event. Our event hosted approximately 150 guests--that we comfortably housed in the smaller nightclub event area. Despite opting out of seated dining, our area easily accommodated our guests with the use of the booths and lounge-style sofa set-up for central-space seating. We still had surplus space leftover--that was allocated for the dance floor and bar area. The nightclub further opens into an enclosed courtyard--allowing for additional cocktail tables, bar stools, and lounge-roaming for our guests. Our party featured a standard photo-booth setup with an 8-ft props table--as well as a 360-spinning video-booth in the front entryway lobby area (just to the left of entrance). Our 360-video-booth included an inflatable enclosure--that successfully fit in the entryway alcove. Our rented XO Lounge space features a stage with a floor-to-ceiling TV-grid. This large multi-screen TV--along with dozens of TVs lining the entire room-walls--cycled a slideshow of our graduate's photos throughout the evening. XO Lounge further features a full PA system, DJ plug-ins for surround sound (you must provide your own DJ/music/equipment), full nightclub equipment (e.g. spinning disco-ball light machines, fog machines, laser strobing, etc.), full bar & bartender staff, etc. I LOOVED that XO included all the needed tables of various lengths and sizes--with fitted fabric *tablecloths* included. Fabric tablecloths may seem like a minimal feature, but fitted cloth coverings elevate a sophisticated aesthetic while alleviating the patron from the added costs for these supplies. Hope oversaw our function and was so attentive--always offering to help with literally *anything*--to reduce stress for the hosts (I really appreciated that!). The venue was surprisingly affordable--with a nominal outside-catering fee; the staff were professional and delightful; and the party space and outdoor-courtyard areas fit our guests, photo/video-booths, food vendors, Welcome table, Sweets table, and largescale Balloon Arch. XO Lounge features one-stop-shop booking and planning services for all party needs, (i.e. catering, decoration, DJ, photo-booth vendors, etc.)--though we did not partake of these additional offerings. Hosting an event on this scale is stressful (IYKYK), but this venue and staff minimized the stress and streamlined our experience for a fantastic celebration. Our family would definitely book with XO lounge again for future event planning needs--and would highly recommend to our friends, family, and others. Our guests had the BEST time; and we had a GREAT PARTY celebrating our newest grad!

The attention to details, executing on the vision were flawless.- the DJ playing a mixture of hip hop, R&B, and EDM. The microphone for karaoke. The collaboration to bring smashed burger (forgot their name) was well seasoned and juicy, and cooked to order at the club! Wow I can go on and on! When you rent here they give you the hall and plaza. The event was at night so they turned on their fountain and the outdoor lights. The facility does have a kitchen with ice maker, freezer, refrigerator, sink etc. We didn't need to prepare any food but the kitchen looks equipped to do so. They had tables and chairs included in the rental fee. They did require that we hire security which increased the cost of renting the facility. We had no need for security and I would recommend that they reevaluate this requirement depending on the event. They should require a larger deposit and if there are any issues the deposit could be forfeited. They did allows us great access to set up the venue for our party and gave us the freedom to decorate the place as we wanted. Tip: you need to be persistent to get a hold of the people who operate the venue. I assume they are mostly volunteers and you need to remember this if they don't call you back in a timely manner. I would recommend that you call them early and make sure you follow up with them if you don't hear back.

I walked into a space that is smaller than some larger Japanese gardens, but the layout feels carefully planned with winding paths, traditional landscaping, a koi pond, waterfalls, bridges, and quiet corners throughout. It is the type of place where taking your time matters more than trying to see everything quickly, and the smaller size actually makes the experience feel more intimate. The garden feels like a world apart from the campus surrounding it, and the transition from the university grounds to the garden is immediate and effective. The koi pond is easily the centerpiece of the garden and one of the most enjoyable parts to spend time around. I found myself lingering by the water, watching the fish move through the pond as the sunlight filtered through the trees. The fish are large and active, and the surrounding greenery, stone features, and water elements create a very relaxing atmosphere. The garden does a good job balancing natural scenery with traditional Japanese design, with each section offering a slightly different view and feeling as I walked through. The bridges and stone lanterns add to the sense of place, and the sound of the waterfalls creates a calming background that stays with you as you move through the space. What I liked most about this garden is how calm it feels despite being located on a college campus. It feels separated from the surrounding area once you enter, making it a nice place for a quiet walk, photography, or just taking a break. The landscaping is well maintained, and the entire space has a slower pace that encourages you to actually stop and appreciate the details rather than rushing through. The garden's design rewards a slow approach, with each turn in the path offering a slightly different perspective on the pond, the plants, and the stonework. The visit is fairly quick since the garden is compact, but it works well as a relaxing stop rather than a destination that takes up an entire afternoon. Reservations are required, so it is worth checking availability before going. Admission is free, although parking is an extra cost and can be the main inconvenience, especially during busy campus hours. The garden's location on campus makes it accessible, but the parking situation can require a bit of patience. Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden is a beautiful spot if you are looking for a peaceful escape rather than a large attraction. The koi pond, thoughtful design, and quiet atmosphere make it a place worth visiting, especially on a nice day when you can take your time walking through the garden. It offers a brief but meaningful pause from the surrounding city and campus life, and the care that has gone into maintaining the space is evident in every corner.

I wouldn't normally write a bad review, especially for a place my family and I have loved for years…read more(and I'll happily update this if things improve), but I have to agree with others about the recent decline in quality. I had breakfast here this weekend. The waiters were friendly and attentive as always, and it's nice to see familiar faces. The food, though, has really gone downhill. I'm not a picky eater, but the biscuits and gravy were just... gross. The biscuit was flat and mushy, and the gravy was bland and clearly out of a can or bag. It even had these thin, uniform little squares of sausage in it, more like something you'd find in dog food than the small chunks of fried, browned sausage you'd expect. Biscuits and gravy is like 90% just made of flour, so I have a hard time believing the premade version is actually saving much money over making it fresh. The kitchen already goes through so much sausage that it seems like an easy fix to use real drippings and meat instead of whatever this was. The hash browns were bland too, undercooked inside and overcooked outside. And the "maple syrup" was high fructose corn syrup with brown dye and flavoring. No one wants to feed that to their kids. I'd happily pay a dollar more for real syrup. Everyone's cutting costs these days, but there has to be more pride and care put into the food you serve patrons. We love this restaurant and hope to see the quality back to where it was. The waiters and cooks deserve better ingredients to work with, and the neighborhood regulars who count on this place deserve better too.
