Olav from The Reptile Zoo presenting a snake to children at a birthday party in the park
    Lauren S.

We booked a "Jurassic Party" through The Reptile Zoo for my daughter's 7th birthday party. The experience was fantastic. Booking was very easy - I even had to change venues last minute and they were happy to accommodate. Olav was an amazing presenter - it's not easy to get 25 5-8 year old children to pay attention but he did! He engaged with all the kids, shared interesting facts about each animal, and made sure the birthday girl felt extra special by ensuring she had the first chance to pet or hold each animal. I couldn't believe how many different creatures he brought with him! All kids and parents enjoyed the presentation.

Had my son's 5th birthday party here last year right before COVID and the lockdown. Everything from booking online to communication with the staff was a breeze. On the day of the party, we were able to go to our designated party room 30 mins beforehand to set up. We were allowed to put up our own decor, bring our own food and cake, and even play music. The presentation was a hit. The kids loved the animals and although there were moments where I felt like the host had to talk over a bunch of 5-year olds, well, that just comes with the territory! I would highly recommend hosting a birthday party here for your child if they are a fan of reptiles and such. It was quite affordable, too. At the time, the cost was under $400 for a one-hour presentation, 1.5 hours in the party room, 25 guests total - $10 for each add'l guest, and free reign of the rest of the zoo for the entire day. The cost does not include any food, drinks, cake, or goodie bags, obviously. But it all will more or less amount to the same as any typical indoor playground or trampoline park and at least you are free to bring/cater your own food and not be stuck with just pizza!!

    Awesome birthday

The animal handler was awesome and very knowledgeable and very entertaining. I would definitely suggest them for any party!!

Some girls want a princess at their party, mine wanted snakes. Jurassic Parties did a fantastic job at my daughter's birthday party. They arrived on time and laid out the rules and requirements that kept everyone safe, humans and animals. They provided a variety of reptiles to touch and were full of information, answered all the questions, just a great interaction for all my guests. I thought the pricing was very reasonable. We also enjoy visiting their store and look forward to the zoo once it reopens. I highly recommend Jurassic Parties.

Griffin was an amazing presenter, so clear, kind, patient and funny. He kept 15 children under 6 fully engaged and mesmerized for 90 minutes, which Is more than Elsa can do. The animals were amazing and this made a birthday party for children equally as entertaining for the adults. We lost our family dog unexpectedly just 2 days prior to the party, and this was the first time we really were able to smile. I cannot recommend Griffin and Jurassic Parties/Reptile Zoo enough.

Had our son's bday party here over the weekend and it was so cool! JPs are held at The Reptile Zoo in Fountain Valley in an older, nondescript strip mall. Many of our guests were surprised that such an amazing place existed in the area. We reserved both party rooms (there are only two) for his party about a month prior. We reserved both rooms due to the amount of guests we were expecting. I believe if you do one room only plus the hour long animal show it cuts the price in half. Our party clocked in at $500 and included use of the two party rooms (you basically use the rooms for food/cake and guests eating), an hour long presentation with many of the animals, and entry into their "zoo" area that houses more reptiles and spiders than you can imagine. Seriously, they have SO MANY creatures here. The party package here is 2 hours total, but once your party is over, your guests are welcome to remain inside to continue looking at their animals. About 2 weeks after we reserved and paid our $100 deposit, I happened to be on Yelp when I noticed The Reptile Zoo was listed as "CLOSED". I immediately freak out and call my husband who called them to figure out if our party was going to be ok. The explained that they needed to close temporarily to do some construction, but not to worry because they will open the Tuesday before our Saturday party. When the Tues before rolled around, they still weren't open and they said the reopen date was pushed and would likely be the next day. Long story short, prob due to delays they reopened later than planned, but they did finally open their doors for business again the day before our party. Phew! They party was a hit with kiddo and adult guests alike. They were so amazed at the collection of critters here. While walking the floor of the zoo, handlers would bring out certain reptiles and things for guests to interact with. Lots of kids with snakes around their necks for photo ops. All the handlers were very responsible and made sure the kids (and adults) followed their rules and guidelines. Guests had time to walk around and look at the animals prior to the start of the show. Once it was show time, all our guests were ushered into their show room to sit on benches while our handler brought out different animals to show us and talk about them. So many interesting facts. During the show she brought most animals around to each kid to touch...all the kids even got the chance to wear one of snakes around their neck! The handler brings quite a few animals to the show room and tells us about them, and even answers questions. During our show, two of the animals had to go #1, so that made for an interesting time. But the handler took it all in stride. Just note - these are animals so keep in mind you could get peed/pooped on while you're visiting. At the start of our show there was an older woman with what looked like her 3 grandkids who parked themselves into the front row. They obviously weren't with our party, and the presenter made announcements several times saying that everyone inside had to have a black wristband to stay for the show (The Reptile Zoo is open for normal business during parties, so your guests are intermingled with other patrons on the floor. But only party guests are permitted in the show area and party rooms). They didn't, but even though she repeated herself multiple times, they didn't budge. I finally had to tell her that I saw there were ppl inside who weren't our guests. So she finally spoke directly to the sneaky grandma telling her this was a private party and her group had to leave. This gma was so passive aggressive about leaving too, telling her young grandkids "Oh, come on I guess we have to leave now". Ugh. The place is good about trying to keep things sanitary esp when dealing with animals. There are large dispensers of hand sanitizer throughout and a sink on the main floor. Overall we were very pleased with the party. Staff was great, communication with the manager was solid, and the animal show was fun and held the kiddos' attention. I would highly recommend JP for anyone looking for a non-standard kids' party.

We had an amazing time with Jurassic parties at our 4 year old Spiderman party!! My son is obsessed with spiders and they made sure they had a couple of tarantulas for the bday boy! Our handler did a great job building up to that grand finale because he was kept excited the entire time...starting with the small religious until the huge boa. We had awesome photo opportunities and all the kids (boys and girls) plus adults were entertained. Our handler arrived early to set up, ensured everyone had the opportunity to see all the reptiles and take photos. I also appreciate him being very intuitive with the behavior of all the reptiles he brought. One of the lizards wasn't feeling it and he was quick to assess it's need and warn us for the safety of the kids. We let that one go back to rest. The tortoise had a blast roaming around our backyard for the duration of the show. Definitely recommend for parties!! We will prolly make a trip to the Reptile Zoo now that my son is absolutely in love with the tarantulas!!

Wow! The best birthday parties we've had to date! Booked them to come to our home and brought all kinds of snakes, lizards, spiders, and toads/frogs! All the kids had a chance to pet the animals and learned all about them as well. Our reptile handler was Emily and she was amazing. She showed up right on time and the kids loved her! This was better than any jumphouse or chucky cheese party. It was something you don't see all the time and was the best experience we had. Definitely would recommend !!!

This would be most fun part this Sunday , they have lots of activities in during the show . Enjoying whole day here! Nice works here in Costa Mesa CA

My niece invited us here for her bday. She invited a group of friends and had an an area where you can bring in your food and cake for the celebrant. As an adult, I really enjoyed this place. They had so many gigantic as well as very small and cute animals that they brought out for the guests to touch and interact with. It was very informative as well as FUN! This place seems great for kids of all ages...look at me, I even had tons of fun. I wonder if I should have MY birthday here too? That will certainly be different and so out of the box...

Thank you Dan and The Reptile Zoo for making Brisa's 6th birthday fun, exciting and very, very special!
    Angie P.

Brisa's 6th birthday was so much fun! She wore her safari vest and hat, and she was incredibly excited to assist Dan with the animals. So, here are some of the reasons that the birthday party rocked and it makes sense to throw a party here: 1. The staff responds and reacts appropriately to kids of all ages, from toddlers to older kids. 2. The party includes an educational show, where everyone gets to interact with the animals. 3. Costs about the same to throw a bday party at home, but there's no clean up afterward! 4. There are soooo many animals to observe and feed. 5. It is actually a SUPER memorable experience for the birthday kid and the guests. So far, this has been my favorite birthday party. ONE (or two) gripe/s...They need A/C in the party rooms and they need larger rooms to accommodate large groups.

Everything about this experience was amazing. The animals stole the show, but the star was the presenter/handler. He had command over a bunch of 7-year-olds like I've never seen. The were rapt. Listened to his every word, not just about the animals, but followed his instructions about how to handle them. He spent a little more than an hour with us and I don't know why I never did something like this sooner.

Buying a medium sized container of feed was more than enough, IMHO. Visitors are required to feed only the goats & sheep from the other side of the enclosure. Without feed, visitors can enter the closure & pet/brush the animals. Besides the goats & sheep, there are 2 pigs, chickens, and in a separate enclosure, emus & a cow. No access allowed to those, however. Pony rides are an option for little kids. The ride is around an oval track. There is also a playground area to burn up some energy. A few handwashing stations on premises to stay hygienic during your visit. Barnyard Buddies is an accessible nearby barnyard experience. I was lucky enough to grow up around chickens, so I'm not new to livestock. It's my firm belief kids should be around animals, and know where their food comes from, whether it be eggs, milk and/or meat. While not a place I'd recommend traveling large distances to visit, for those nearby or whom happen to be in the area, Barnyard Buddies is a wonderful opportunity to feed enthusiastically hungry goats & sheep, and brush plump piggies. Highly recommend!

Perfect for younger kids. Parking was probably the only downside. Since you park in the main park area, it was pretty packed with baseball games and birthday parties going on. If you're going mid-afternoon, just be prepared to circle a bit for a spot. Pro tip: get the Groupon! We grabbed a family 4-pack for only $13 way cheaper than paying at the gate, which made it feel like a really good deal. As for activities, pony rides were $10 and the tractor ride was $12. My nephew skipped the ponies but loved the tractor ride. Feeding the animals costs a couple bucks ($2-$3 for pellets), but just keep in mind you can only feed the llamas, goats, and one pony. Still fun though! He also got to interact with a chicken, which he thought was super cool. Overall, it's a cute, simple spot for a quick outing with kids. Just go in knowing it's small and plan ahead for parking, and you'll have a great time!

To know especially that these are rescued animals and are being taken care of so carefully, giving us the privilege of being able to give them our love as well, it was a heartwarming experience. There is a cute little shop attached to the sanctuary, where you can buy their handmade truffle chocolates which are so delicious (coming from someone who isn't a fan of truffle chocolates), fresh farm eggs, honey, and other delicacies. With your zoo "ticket" you get 2 free samples of their chocolates and a hefty bag of feed for the animals. The animals are mostly in their own pens, with some together. There's even a couple of the pigs you'll find out of pens, just hanging out on the property, laying beside the building. You're able to go into the tortoise pen and feed/pet him as well, 2 people at a time inside the pen, as he does get anxious. You're not able to feed all of the animals, but for the most part you can. Luckily for us, 3 Petals took those wise words and said "hold my champagne." We gave 3 Petals team a large task of 270 guests, a moody romantic theme, picky eaters, quality drinks, amazing food, and a floral chandelier that made us gasp. Not only did the team understood the assignment, they handled all of it without missing a beat. We can't talk about 3 Petals without talking about the staff. And we have to start with Ashley, because she deserves every thank you we could give. As our POC for the entire year leading up to the wedding, she was an absolute sweetheart from start to finish. Every email answered promptly, every question, no matter how small, was met with patience and clarity. It felt like planning a wedding with a friend who genuinely wanted our day to be perfect. Ashley truly set the tone for what the entire 3 Petals experience would feel like, and that standard carried through every single interaction with their team. The venue staff as a whole are warm, genuine, and flexible. You can tell they actually love what they do. The venue itself is a true blank canvas. We wanted a moody, romantic theme and 3 Petals team suggested maroon draping. Game changer. It completely transformed the space and gave the room a warm and intimate atmosphere. The team provided extra lighting to balance the moodiness of the room and made sure our linen choices tied everything together perfectly. Their in-house rentals are fairly priced, their florist team is incredibly talented, and the floral chandelier they created was honestly more stunning in person than anything we had imagined. Since they have established relationships with so many local vendors, coordinating everyone was smooth and stress-free. Now the food. We need to talk about the food because this is where 3P truly shines. Many of our guests were from families of great cooks. We are talking picky Asian moms and aunties who will absolutely let you know if something did not meet the mark. Every single one of them complimented the food. This was the highlight of the wedding for us. We went with Signature Menu 2 and swapped the first course for cocktail hour bites, and that decision alone was worth it. We had tried the cocktail food at our tasting and knew immediately it was going to be a hit, but the actual wedding night confirmed it. Every single item was amazing. The curry shrimp was juicy and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of curry flavor, served on a crispy bite that had the most satisfying crunch. The halibut ceviche was a fresh, beautifully executed Asian fusion take. And the filet beef cubes were tender, soft, and seasoned so perfectly that every single bite felt intentional. And those were just the appetizers. Dinner raised the bar even higher. Our front runners from the moment we tried them were the twice cooked short ribs and the steamed sea bass, and they delivered on the wedding night exactly as promised. The short ribs fell completely off the bone and melted in your mouth. The sea bass was incredibly fragrant and cooked to perfection. The soup was delicate yet packed with generous amounts of shrimp and crab, and they did not skimp on a single thing. And the lobsters with garlic noodles? Bomb! All our guests raved about these dishes. The compliments did not stop at the wedding either. Weeks later, guests were still bringing up the food unprompted. That speaks volumes about what By 3 Petals puts on the table. Our guests really came for the wedding and stayed for the drinks. The full top shelf bar meant every cocktail actually tasted like a cocktail. No watered down drinks, no flimsy plastic cups, just well-made cocktails served right. The venue went above and beyond by helping us craft his and her signature drinks. It was a small personalized detail that got people talking all night and made the bar feel like part of the experience rather than just a table in the corner. Venue by 3 Petals is truly the full package and one of the best decisions we ever made for our wedding. Thank you 3 Petals Team for the best night of our lives!
