I wanted to take a moment to applaud the service I received from Apron Strings Pet Sitting. My family and I were traveling overseas recently and had a neighbor locked in to stay at our home and care for our two pets: a Pomsky and a Maine Coon. Not too difficult, just hairy and needy. Well, needless to say, that fell through last minute and I was in a bind for sure. I don't like to board them and I want them in our home. I found Apron Strings via Yelp! and saw the great reviews. I thought I'd take a chance... I talked with Howard that evening and got an understanding of what they offered, talked a little to get a read on his love for pets and general personality and was sold. He scheduled a meeting with one of his people to see my home, to walk through and meet my pets. That was great, and reassuring. I scheduled three walks/visits per day for my dog and cat. I was given a daily journal of activities, feeding, demeanor and all around vibe of my babies. That was refreshing. Upon arrival back in the states, Kim reached out to me to make sure everything went well and make sure I didn't have any issue. That was very professional as well. These people should NOT take care of pets. They are the most unprofessional and cruel cat sitters I've had. I came back from a 2 week trip and found my cat's food full of ants and the back up bowls fully empty. He probably couldn't eat for more than 3 days! The ants were on the water too! I did tell the company that there could be an ant problem and for that reason I left two extra bowls upstairs. They were supposed to keep the full at all times. Instead, they were empty!! And those are big bowls, so they must have been empty for a while. Pippo lost ONE POUND in 2 weeks. It's A LOT for a cat. On top of this, my cat had litter issues and this was reported to me only once. When I got back I found the house incredibly dirty. My cat poop outside four times. They didn't clean properly and one episode was left there (it was dry, so it was sitting there for a while). It was also full of pee around the litter (I left some products, they didn't clean). Last but not least, my cat vomited on the couch. This was never reported to me and the couch wasn't cleaned. He could have been sick!!!!! These people are criminals. They should NOT take care of any animal. On top of everything, the person I was in touch with denied EVERYTHING and was incredibly rude. She told me her conscience was clean. I don't know how these people sleep at night. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET WITH THEM. read more

We now have a new cat and have gotten the same wonderful service by Apronstrings! This one is a very shy rescue cat who wasn't seen at all the first time staff came, but now allows herself to be seen periodically to get a treat! (Not a dummy!) We have used Apronstrings for a couple of years now and they are excellent! When we first started using them, we had one older cat who didn't need much looking after. About a year ago, we got a kitten who needed much more care. They were able to pivot and take care of both of them with no problem! The older cat got sick and Kim said they had no problem administering pills and keeping an eye on her. Leaving your pets can very incredibly nerve-wracking, but I am never worried with Apronstrings is coming. I know they will be happy and healthy. One sitter even vacuumed up some litter the little one had tracked through the house. Truly above and beyond. Not to mention, communication is great. I have been able to get ahold of them from all over the world. Someone will respond to an email with even the smallest question. Very expensive. Can you talk to the owner? Everything sounds good until he gave me the price.. I was going to be gone for 42 days at $100 a day = 4,200.00 One month and 12 days . Not to spend the day , or the night , just to come in and feed my dogs. We're not even talking about them walking the dogs. read more

My wife and I have been clients of Apronstrings for 7+ years. We use them anywhere from a few days on quick trips to up to 2 weeks around every holiday to be with family in Seattle. They have given us peace of mind knowing that our cats are always in good hands. I've never been one to give a service access to my home. But it didn't take long for me to have full confidence in Kim and her team of Apronstringers. Our travels would be far more stressful without this service in our lives. The obvious is that they'll feed the cats, clean their litter, provide meds if needed, check mail, water plants, etc. But that's what we should all expect. If you have a service that can't at least provide those requirements, find someone else. We love seeing our cat (we had two up until a couple yesterday ago) in good spirits after every trip. But there's much more to what they provide. We've had to extend cat sitting for emergency reasons a few times. Last year our daughter came down with a fever on the last day of our trip and Kim didn't hesitate extending their care of our cat. More notably, one of our family members in Seattle was in critical condition due to an accident back in early 2013. We were gone for over 5 weeks after originally planning to be gone for only 2 weeks. We were in constant communication with Kim as she accommodated 3 extension requests. It brings tears to my eyes looking back at our emails. She was completely understanding of our situation. While we've only ever met in person for the initial free consultation visit discussing the care of our cats, it has sincerely felt like Apronstrings is family thanks to what they do for us... at a high level of quality service. Apronstrings Pet Sitting has provided excellent care to our five kitties and leopard gecko through the years (since 1992)! It is such a relief to be able to leave our animals and home in their trustworthy and capable hands. Our current kitty is 17 years old and requires a daily pill, which they administer without any problem. Now, with the pandemic winding down, we are traveling more. Whenever I return from trips - I tend to travel a lot - my cats are happy and content. They lose 1 star because sometimes their staff is less than detail-oriented. We used Apronstrings for the first time this past weekend. Our cat Zoey was recently diagnosed with chronic kidney disease so we needed extra care for her. We've been clients here for a few years and I can't believe I haven't raved about how great Kim & Howard's Team is! :) I first found out about Apronstrings when I was in need for short notice pet sitting due to a business trip. My friends don't live close by and I needed someone I could rely on. I wasn't too sure about my neighbors (I know, that's sad, but it's true). I had limited time to research but was able to meet with Kim prior to her coming over to petsit and liked her immediately. She's a fellow pet owner and understands the concerns pet owners have when leaving their "babies" in someone elses care. I've trusted Kim on numerous occasions and she's also great when I have to travel overseas. You can arrange as many visits as you feel your pets need and they also offer special care, such as giving shots for sick animals and would take your pet to the vet in an emergency. The cost per visit is pretty reasonable at $19 for kitties, I think it's a little more for dogs. Kim's Team also does regular pet sitting for people that just want someone to walk their dog every day while they are at work. They come in, feed your pets, clean the mighty box, play with the kitties and also make the house look like it's lived in while you're away. I had used Apronstrings in past years and for many years did not as I had a neighbor who would take care of my cats. However, I recently called and started back with them. I was happy up until recently when I returned home to find a dose of medicine had not been given. She commented that well he had 80 % of his medicine given! I was uncertain if my cat had been seen one day as extra food cans were on the counter and the litter box was full with dried stool and urine. Kim was very defensive when I contacted her and stated I was the one at fault and not her "wonderful employees". The proper response should have been to apologize to me and to make things right not to criticize and undermine me the client. In public service as a nurse for many years I would never treat my patients or families in this unprofessional manner. read more
