I signed a service contract with Aptive Pest Control because I was told they would treat both my home and my yard. The yard treatment was one of the main reasons I agreed to the service. However, in nearly two years as a customer, the yard was only treated during the very first visit. Despite continuing to pay for the service, the promised yard treatments never happened. When I contacted Aptive to cancel due to the lack of service being provided as promised, I was told I would have to pay a cancellation fee. Charging customers a cancellation fee after failing to deliver the services that were represented during the sales process is unacceptable. My experience has been that the company did not follow through on what was promised when I signed the contract. I am currently considering pursuing this matter in small claims court because I believe customers should receive the services they were promised and paid for. I would advise anyone considering Aptive Pest Control to carefully review their contract and keep detailed records of the services actually performed. read more

Maybe the owners are reading the reviews, and trying to improve because I had an excellent experience. Trevor was my tech who was very knowledgeable and committed. He text in advance of his arrival asking if there were any specific areas or pest problems. He inspected first then explained what he saw before treatment. I have large showcase windows which cannot be sprayed above, so they have a treated tool (like a Swiffer 360 only bigger) that will clear the cobwebs and leave a trace natural repellent. They also treat yard and bushes for fleas, tics, ants, and more. I'm very happy with their service and the pricing is very reasonable for what I've received. read more

We have had way fewer bugs of all sorts around the house. We are not seeing spiders and silverfish in the house like we did last summer. We can sit on the deck and not get attacked by mosquitoes. The price is very reasonable too. Ricardo does a super job of communicating with us when he is going to arrive and when he has completed the work. I called Aptive regarding an ant infestation in my yard. They were very knowledgeable and gave me a few choices on a plan. They sent someone out immediately and they were very nice!! All of their service technicians are amazing and one of them even pulled up my garbage can up to my house from the street!! They ask what you are concerned with and address it while they are there. They do a very thorough job and go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied!! You don't always receive this level of service nowadays!! I am so glad that they are the company that I chose to take care of my issue. On a scale of 1-10, they are an 11. I will always refer them to anyone that has a need for an exterminator!! read more

This business is a scam! Totally unprofessional! I requested to have the same tech each time, and only had that happen once. The majority of the technicians were very rude. Also had to cancel my debit card due to charges that weren't mine, and that only happened once they had my card number. I can't wait for my contract to expire in June. DON'T GIVE THEM A DIME!!! For starters... they hire young, charming, smooth talking salesman to con you into signing up with them. DON'T be fooled! Second... the salesman that came to my door never told me until after I gave him my credit card for the "first time outdoor only partial spray" agreed on for $30 that I was signing up for a full 1 year membership... & if I wanted out I would need to pay $199. After realizing I would be paying $85 every month for the entire year including winter months... NOT including mosquitoes... I knew I was scammed. All I had originally agreed to was a $30 outside only that day spray b/c the salesman once again made me feel like I had to sign up right then & there or not all all instead of waiting 2 months to start b/c that's when my neighbors were starting. So he charged me $30... but come to find out after canceling 3 weeks later, a few days before the 1st & next only full treatment... they charged me $199 for canceling PLUS still charged me $85 more for the next months service even though they never came again. Third... you can only ever speak to someone who hardly speaks English and will only repeat over & over & over & over that I signed a contract... even when you demand a supervisor. Can not recommend this business. The service was sold as once a month treatment. May or may not show up every 8 or 9 weeks. They're more interested in drumming up more business than showing up for what you've already paid for. If I could give this company zero stars, I would. For 2 consecutive months they charged us with no services rendered. We had appointments booked and twice had no one show up. After calling to cancel our service, we will still charged a cancellation fee and no refund for the times they missed. They stated that since we cancelled our account was frozen and could no longer be refunded. Would not recommend this service to ANYONE. Showed little to no improvement over several months and then billed us the $99/mo without even showing up. I didn't notice any improvement in the situation. I then had APTIV showing up in the middle of the WINTER wanting to do an external application. WTF - we have snow on the ground and I'm certain no insects are running around outside at this time of year. I then noticed monthly charges on my credit card although no treatment was being done. I called APTIV and told them the agreed upon service was already completed last year and they informed me I have a 12 month contract and it would cost me $199 to cancel my service. Back in August, an Aptive representative came to my parents' home in Berrien Springs, Mi. and offered their "services" to my elderly father. Soon after that encounter, a series of spammers started to harass my father on his phone for various reasons. That same month, as soon as my mother became aware of what happened, she called Aptive. She is the owner of the property and the person who manages it. My mother informed Aptive that a different pest control company already services her property and that she was not interested in Aptive's services. Despite this conversation, Aptive sent emails to my father's email account indicating that they have treated the property for multiple months. This is despite no Aptive representative being allowed in or seen on the property during months that they billed for since August. Aptiv sent a collection email a month before one of the alleged treatments and a different collection email a month after that same alleged treatment. I find it odd that a company would claim that they provided treatment to a customer after already sending a client to collections. Yesterday, an Aptiv representative banged on my mother's front door repeatedly. This loud and continuous banging was done in a manner that was clearly intended to harass the resident of the home into opening their door. My mother was shocked and appalled when the Aptiv representative asked "What did we do to lose your business?" She informed that representative that she has always used a different pest control company. The Aptiv representative attempted to pressure my mother into agreeing to their services. She told him that she needed to leave for an appointment. I am deeply concerned that my father was billed for these services for two reasons: 1)My mother (who is the owner of the property) made it clear to Aptive that she did not want those services on her property back in August and that they should not return to the property. 2) My father has been billed despite those services not being provided on the property. I am also deeply concerned about the aggressive manner in which the Aptive representative behaved. That type of behavior is not a norm for my parents' neighborhood and they have a right to feel safe in their home. This behavior was extremely disrespectful and completely unprofessional. If an Aptive representative ever returns to my mother's property again, they will be reported to the police for trespassing. Our house got a tiny bit of toxic pesticide thrown on the window sills, after we asked repeatedly about the safety of their products. Really hard to cancel and not worth the hassle if you want piece of mind and a smooth experience

I am extremely frustrated and angry with APTIVE! In July, I had an application in the downpouring rain. I inquired about the effectiveness of the product and requested a customary application to replace that one. I was told yes, it is in my records. THEY CHARGED ME anyway for September and DENIED GIVING MY MONEY BACK, even though it was in the notes from my phone call in August that I was owed a customary application. SO RUDE and wrong of this company to take advantage in this way!!!! I would rather eat a bug than have your company come prevent them in my space. read more

I would be hesitate to do any business with this company. Be careful of what program you sign up for, do not sign up for the monthly plan as they do not show up monthly. But you pay. No matter what life brings your way, never ever attempt to get out of the contract. It will only cost you 199.00 no matter what. 1 star. Let me explain why as I was a technician. 1. First month working for them they didnt have a back sprayer for me to use so they had me treat homes with a pump can knowing its not an effective spray and would still charge customers. 2. My first 2 months I had a van with no a/c in it and were required to wear long sleeves. I watched 2 new guys get hired with no experience and get put into vans with a/c before I got a van with a/c and I informed them of the issue multiple times. 3. Management is terrible. They do not care about there employees. They also lie A LOT!! You go through a 2 week training program before you start working as a tech but There are multiple things that management would inform us arent true. 4. They tell homeowners they'll treat up to 2 acres on a home. Spray the foundation 3ft up and 3ft out. Spray around windows, in the eaves and around structure and that we will dewebb and treat inside and also take care of rodents as well. Ive done this 3 years.. they want everything done in 30 minutes so you can complete 1.6 stops per hour otherwise you get in trouble. I can tell you hands down if they are done within 30 minutes they did not do a thorough job. Im a tech. 5. THEY DO NOT PAY DRIVE TIME, they want you to do 18-20 stops per day but will pay you 10 hours but you will be on company time for 14 hours. Theres been multiple times id wake up at 6am to check my route and you cannot clock in until you get to your first stop and you clock out at your last stop. They will put all your stops 2 hours away from where you live intentionally!! In training the trainer says your route is set the night prior. I would always check my route when I got home but the mangers will require you to be up at 6am because they change the routes. So my route the night before would always be in my hometown but when id wake up at 6am the mangers would change my route to an area thats 2+ hrs away from my home. There were plenty of nights id clock out my last stop at 8 or 9pm then have to drive 2 hours home unpaid. Then still have to eat and shower and have 0 time to see family. Gotta be back up at 6am to see how far of a drive ive got today. If you bring it to the managers attention he'll say your burning out an ask if you want to continue working at aptive. Thats just how they operate. 6. They encourage all there employees to get upgrades or renewals, which it seemed cool at first but when they told me I need to start getting upgrades I did. I was leading the office in upgrades after 1 week, after I continued to upgrade I think it got to the point where I was going to make too much. Id get upgrades everyday. To get paid the commission for the upgrades the customer has to stay on the plan for a month then they will pay the commission. Well I focused the whole month of july on upgrades. Mid july they stopped putting my on production routes and started making me run full initials. Everyday. My first 2 years i did initials. They knew I wanted nothing to do with initials because I have more experience then most the technicians in office. They would make me drive 2 hours to run initials after a good half a month of upgrades. There intent was to get me to quit. I do not quit. I ended up getting terminated due to there pts system on at the beginning of august when all of the upgrade and renwal commission was getting ready to kick in. 7. They use a points system but if you dont show up to your first stop by 8am you get the same amount of points as you would when you call off. You dont have a set route until 6am. Theres been countless times theyd give me a route over 2hrs away so its not possible for me to be on time so they could give me points. 8. They make you get up at 6am. You'll be driving out to your route but the manager or supervisor like to ego there employees and they will literally change your route at 7:45 and then change your route to a whole other area. So if you were gonna be on time now your not. Your not clocked in. Been on company time since 6am but because they changed your route you cant clock in until 9 or 10am now yet youve been driving there van since 6am then they will expect you to run a full route and you'll more than likely not be done with your last stop until 8 or 9pm then you gotta clock out and still drive home. Theres been days I was in that van for 14-17 hrs and only getting paid for 9 sometimes 10 hours. 9. I worked 6 days a week. When people called off id be the first person my manager called to fill that shift and most the time id volunteer. I would work holidays. They change your pay. Ive had my hours messed with until they realized I document everything and changed it back immediately. I only documented due to one of there employees telling me during training to watch your pay. They will change your hours. I feel bad for the fellas not documenting there hours because they took a hefty amount of my hrs off my check and would've continued to do it had I not mentioned read more

This company has the sketchiest and most unethical business practices I've ever encountered. They originally approached us as we were backing out of our driveway, pressured us to sign up so intensely that they would not take no for an answer, would not leave. Incredibly rude. Regardless, I caved and signed up for the basic 4x a year treatment, because we do have pests, so okay, fine. But since then, they have been booking treatment appointments MUCH more frequently, way more often than needed/recommended, showing up and doing the treatment without requiring confirmation, and automatically charging us. Apparently their business practice is just to sign themselves up for appointments as often as they can get away with unless the customer notices and goes through a very lengthy cancellation process. Sure, the treatment helped a bit. The actual guys they sent to do the treatment were nice/professional enough. But I would never, ever recommend them for pest control because the business side of the company will try to scam you out of your money as much as possible. read more

Now I'm trying to cancel (it's the end of my contract) and have sent an email and am on my 4th call with them. Every time I talk to someone, they say they need to transfer me to a different department and am on hold for at least 10 minutes at which time it goes to a voicemail. The first time they said someone would call me back (they never did) the second and third time I left voicemails and now I'm literally on hold yet again and have been for 7 minutes.
