Like other reviewers I also have a "No Soliciting " sign on my door that was ignored by their sales person. As I was just getting over covid and felling better which put me in a good mood. I did not ask him if he could read and then yell at him to get of my porch. Covid brain I guess. So I signed up for a 12 month once a quarter treatment plan. First treatment was $47 which I wasnt suppsed to say anything to my neighbors about. Wink wink. Then additional treatments are $157. The first treatment was on a very gray rainy day. I was home that day and they spent about 20 minutes walking around the house and set out one bait trap. I figured because of the weather was why they did not treat my grass or trees. About two weeks after that first treatment the ants had returned. Fast forward three months they showed up spent 15 to 20 minutes walking around my house spraying and knocking cobwebs down and no grass or tree treatment as the salesman had said they do. 157 bucks gone. I went back and looked at the email/contract and nothing in there about lawn or tree treatments. So I got douped by their slick salesman. My fault for not reading the fine print. Yesterday they showed up for the 3rd treatment it was like dejavue same thing again. 15 20 minutes and they were gone. I signed The contract and I will honor my part but I WILL not be renewing or using their service ever again. Nor will I recomend them to anyone. The value of what you get for what your paying is way way out of line. At $157 for 15 to 20 minutes is about $600 ish an hour. You will be money ahead to go spend $15 to $35 on a gallon of ortho bug be gone and do it yourself. read more

This is VERY scammy. Someone came to my door to offer services - he said he could spray for pests for $99. I said I needed to check with my husband, and he immediately reduced it to $49. (I should've known at that point that it was suspicious!) I figured that $49 was worth a try, so we began the sign-up process. He reviewed the contract with me on his ipad, and he scrolled around as he pleased. He did have me initial one statement (which i was fine with that particular statement). However, he pushed a "apply everywhere" button, making it seem like I initialed things that I, in fact, had never seen or read. He did send the contract to my email that evening. It turns out, you get signed up for a quarterly service with a commitment for a year. The $49 is the first service; each quarter after that is $99. AND there is an 'extra' quarterly service just a month after the initial one. (This is one of the statements I "initialed" by applying everywhere.) So the commitment for this door-to-door sale is $450! I decided to cancel my service. I attempted to do so by phone, but was put on hold for 20 minutes. In that time, I read the contract terms carefully and found that you can cancel in writing. I emailed my written cancellation; Aptive responded asking me to call in. I told them I needed a direct number (I didn't want to wait on hold again!) however they kept giving me their general number. After 6 emails were exchanged, I finally called their line and waited the full 30 minutes for a rep. She told me a could not cancel because it had been more than 72 hours, but she could help me refinance. Thankfully I had read the full contract, which states that you can cancel within 3 BUSINESS days without penalty or obligation. It even explicitly had a date that I could cancel before. She put me back on hold to check with her manager that she could cancel my account, even though it is *clearly* in the contract terms. This is ABSOLUTELY a company meant to trick people into paying a lot for a service they do not understand. Their model seems to be sign up quickly, then give you the runaround so that you can't cancel. Then charge you a $300 penalty for cancellation after 3 business days. Awful. PS. Door-to-door sales rep was not wearing his mask. Just another negative aspect of this sale! read more

Has three Segway "salesmen" ring my doorbell three times within 2 hours. We have a no solicit sign and the first time I answered and said thank you but we are not interested. The second time I asked if they see the no solicitation sign and they said they were informed that is only a guideline by their company. I said OK, if that's the case we are STILL not interested and to not come back with a sleeping one year old. What do you know, 30 minutes later a different person knocks. I open upset but controlled and asked for their Peddlers license. They backed away immediately without saying a word and left. Horrible business practices. If I need pest control, I would NEVER use this company for their practices alone. If they come to my door again, I will file a complaint with the BBB. Just awful. read more

Today Visit 12/5/2018 technician "Jeremey Knewlander" was very professional, personable and most of all, very knowledgeable. He explained what he was going to do and the treatment he was going to use for winter prep. He also explained if I ever came up with any of pest issues what he can do. I honestly didn't know on how much aptive can do to assist with pest control. This is definitely a A+++ business and will definitely keep business with this company and will also definitely refer some of my friends. Even when I said I'd rather wait to make any decisions that translated to 'okay, I'll come by tomorrow' as he was leaving and I didn't even get a chance to say no (again). My husband went to the door and spoke with the guy, informed him he couldn't talk because our kids were now awake and the guy STILL tried to continue the conversation. I'm not a Aptive Environmental customer and after my experience today I never would become one. In the middle of the pandemic, an employee came to my house despite a no soliciting sign. They knocked on my door and rang the bell; my husband went out assuming it was a package delivery. Instead, the employee started delivering a pitch, mask around their chin, for several minutes. Any company sending people to solicit strangers in person during a pandemic is appalling. After the incident, I called to talk to a customer service rep (they have no other contact method on their website). The costumer service rep hung up on me. All this indicates a company I wouldn't ever want to hire. read more

I only gave 1 star because the customer service was always spot on, however, whatever they use to kill bugs, spiders, and flies, DOES NOT WORK!! I had their premium service for the 2 months b4 we cancelled altogether. They visited our home 5xs in those 2 months, and to be completely honest, we have MORE spiders and flies than we had BECORE we started. I finally cancelled out of frustration. I got called for an interview, I am glad I didn't just look at the job reviews. I'm sure the job is tough but rewarding however it seems like the aftercare isn't where it needs to be. I would of hated myself taking a job making money knowing people are having extreme difficulties scheduling or with quality of service. I know this review isn't for services rendered but this is the same company that tried to interview me. He even tried to pressure me to interview sooner. Do not do business with this company!! They have no respect for homeowners' rights. They don't have a peddlers' license to go door to door in my city, I checked, they come through my development regularly & ring doorbells & then knock at the door even when there is a no soliciting sign above the doorbell. I spoke with the door to door solicitors today after they once again rang my bell & knocked. Neither one was wearing a mask, they lied & said they had the necessary city license & then were disrespectful. I am very impressed with the service I have received from Aptive, and especially Kina Aga, who did the service! I cant say enough good things about them. She let me explain the issues we have been seeing, and was beyond thorough in her treatment. The review mail I received listing all of the work and the specific products used was also a nice touch. Having this peace of mind is so nice! I also should add that Teancum Piekarski, the salesman that came to the door, was fantastic! And that's saying something, because I already told you he was doing door-to-door sales! Normally I am put off by this, but he was really friendly (without being too much), and knowledgeable about what he was offering. read more

Got one of their sales reps rolling door to door on his hoverboard in Sammamish. First off, you must obtain a solicitor's license before going door to door in our city. Sammamish is offering no licenses at all during COVID, so this guy was here 100% illegally. Secondly, while he had a mask around his neck, he never wore it, even while talking to me. I tried to close the door as fast as I could. Multiple neighbors had the exact same complaint - not cool at all. Don't open the door for them! Who wants services from a company that breaks all the rules. Cancel these guys... read more

Jake, the tech who sprayed for bugs, was polite and professional and checked in when he was done. He explained what he did and why. I am usually turned off by door to door sales. I have used this service several times and had never had a problem until recently. I had a service done on 4/29. The individual who showed up stated he was there for the service. I informed him what needed to be sprayed inside and out. He then stated that he used the majority of his chemicals at his last job and would be back ( which was completely fine). He then arrived back at my home and I pointed out the areas of the interior that would need to be sprayed for spiders. He proceeded to spray a horrific smelling spray in my home, sprayed the outside, and left. I was not even advised that he was done or was I ensured that he even did the areas I asked. After 3 hours of him spraying I noticed that my home still smelled horrible and there were wet spots everywhere he sprayed (took pictures for reference and emailed to them). I called and advised a representative of this and they stated that it should be dry. My biggest concern was for my dog as and asked if this was safe for them due to it still being wet, they had no answer for me! They advised me to wait a few more hours. I did this and called again trying to make sure if this was safe for my dogs, this rep hung up on me and never called back. Six hours later I called back and spoke to a rep that told me the tech had to use the spray for my moths! I have no moths and he had the wrong account open the whole time. He then told me to just clean up the areas he sprayed. AGAIN no one could tell me what he sprayed in my home and why it still smelled so bad nor if my dogs would be okay. I called again and got a very nice rep that said a manager would be calling me back about my concerns. Well here is today 5/2 NO calls from anyone and I received two emails telling me how sorry they are about the issue BUT again NO calls from anyone and NO ONE can still answer my questions. This is the worst customer service I have received from this company. read more

In spite of being told repeatedly that it is not allowed, they continue to send salespeople out. (My kids told me) She then went into my backyard and sprayed some stuff. Didn't realize until she was leaving that she went into my yard without permission. Since I have no other choice but to keep them for 18 months or pay ANOTHER $200 we will be keeping them. The lack of communication is horrendous. When speaking to sales guy he told me I'd have my initial treatment with a FOLLOW UP treatment 3-4 weeks later. We paid the 160+tax the first treatment and when they came for the FOLLOW UP treatment 3 weeks later we were charged again $160+tax (now stating it is a standard treatment.) The sales guy did explain this to me, however said it was a follow up treatment and when I asked if I paid for this he said NO. I called today and spoke with a lady who told me either I miss understood or he miss spoke. So we spent $350 for 3 weeks of treatment. Mind you the second one i was called 4 mins before he showed up and it was 7pm. Will be canceling the services the second we can. read more

Just had a similar experience to other people. Young man, mask around his chin, and extremely close to my door, rode up on a Segway. Started out by saying that 26 of my neighbors were having their house treated tomorrow, and didn't want his tech sitting in the car waiting for other appointments. First appointment cost started at $50, and $149 for the 4 follow ups. Then as I asked more questions and asked for this in writing or a card so I can call back, I was told I have to act now or if I call the office, I won't get this pricing. Then through other questions, the price kept getting lower (eventually $1 for the first day and $100 for follow ups) as he continued to ask me for more of my info. Finally, I said I need validation about the pricing he's offering, and was told I can only get that after I finish signing up, then continues to ask for my info. Finally, I said I would have to speak with my better half, to which he responded "does your wife like bugs?!" Not cool bud. Ultimately, didn't go with the service as everything about the presentation seemed sketchy. The high pressure sales, no ability to make a decision later, and blatant lying about doing 26 of my neighbors tomorrow and having his tech sit idle, and quickly reading reviews, seemed this was standard high pressure sales pitch. Used their service for over a year, as they were a lot cheaper than what we had. Did okay most of the time until recently. I know it's spider season, but to have a bunch of huge spiders come put up 3 or 4 houses around my garage the day after they spray is unacceptable. It's then unacceptable to no-show for a re-service and have no communication about it. And then it's again unacceptable to be on hold for 30 minutes in order to get someone on the phone to cancel service. Awful company. Signed up for someone else who said, "oh yeah, we get a lot of people that switch from them. They have a terrible reputation." Do yourself the favor and don't ever go with them. read more

Service technician did a fine job. I have no problem there. However, I received a phone call regarding a past due account. What?! The lady I spoke with finally delved deep enough to see there HAD been a 90 cent balance due, which I included in the subsequent payment. She acknowledged the payment and the balance the company was concerned about was the 90 cents. I told her I had paid it . I then wrote another check for .90 cents with a note. You will not have received that as yet because it was just 2 days ago. Today I received an email saying my account is past due. I called your company, the person who answered the phone said, my account was past due ~ for the service on 1/12/21 ~ I told her that was Tuesday and I mailed the check on Wednesday. How can I be delinquent!! She said she wasn't the one who called me. I told her I didn't care who called me, I want my account straightened out. She said she would not deal with me, and hung up. Is someone trying to confuse me because I am old? Please straighten out my account. A statement saying I am NOT delinquent and an apology would be appreciated. This is no way to do business. Then he proceeded with a phony pitch that I've heard a million times about how they're in the neighborhood because they are doing pest control for my neighbors the "Robinson's"...(uh huh) and the special is only today. I told him that I already have a pest control company but he chose to ignore that too and kept going on and on. Then when I finally let him finish, I politely said can you leave me a business card and if I change my mind, I'll call you. His response? Oh we don't give out business cards...really? What legitimate business doesn't have biz cards? Red flags flying all over! I will certainly remember the name Aptive as one to avoid. read more

This company is a scam, they came out as I was leaving my home and gave me a sales pitch and specifically noted that there was not any contract to being signed at that time and during my first service, a tech would bring out the contract and could determine what type of contract I wanted to agree on.. To find out, when the young man asked me to sign (showing a signature area on his device) to verify my info was correct ( Name, Address ,etc) it was actually the contract in the background. The service was extremely poor, bugs continued to show up within my yard. I looked at some of my camera footage and the service tech never treated half of my back yard as he ran out of hose. I called to make a complaint ( waited 45 minutes on hold) they rescheduled a re-service at no charge but ended up charging me for it anyway. I would not recommend this company to anyone!! read more

Our tech was at our house for about 30 minutes. I watched from inside while he was spraying the foundation of our home and he didn't even go around the whole house! Didn't check our yard for ants, which was our main concern. I had to go and tell him to spray certain areas. Our tech just seemed to want to get in and out as fast as he could. We got a discount for our initial service, but now have to pay the difference of $190 to cancel our service even after telling them of the poor service. Just save your money and do it yourself. I have a No Soliciting sign at my door. 1.) The No soliciting sign should have been noted and honored 2.) I do not appreciate a sales person knocking w/ NO MASK on standing 2 feet away from my doorway. 3.) When I answered the door, this young man just stood there where I had to ask him what he wanted. He mumbled something about pests, I politely told him no thank you, yet he continued to ignore my response and kept talking. I then had to say I'm not interested again and shut the door. If your company does door to door sales, wear a MASK or do not come to my doorway. When someone says NO, then politely leave.
