Look no further! The gentleman who owns this shop is a treasure and I would protect him with my life. I came for newborn photos anticipating a struggle, but it was a piece of cake with my 1 year old. My photos also turned out so good that I'm now forced to wake up more than two hours before my flight so that they don't turn me away at security. He was extremely Knowledgable and thorough with ensuring the proper size, pose and smile or no smile etc for both US and Canadian applications, even gave me the forms. She needed photos for a Jamaican passport and the country has very specific requirements. This place looks humble and only takes cash, but it's the best. Terry, the owner, is eccentric, but very nice, friendly, and professional. The search for getting visa photos for Chinese visas was a big pain (Walgreen's and CVS employees tried to help, but didn't know anything beyond passport photos), so it was a relief to find someone who knew all the specifications, measured centimeters, etc. of visa application photos. My boyfriend said "That was the best retail experience of my life!" I know right now world travel is a problem (3/10/2020) but he is great for other needs and hopefully things will change soon with the virus outbreak. Another couple came in for green card photos and got the same kind of customer service so it is useful service for other types of "business photos" as well as displaying some more fun photos of families etc. Good prices too! I could've probably gone to any place to get passport photos, but I had read the reviews here and wanted to check it out. Considering I live near downtown Dallas it took a little drive to get there, but it was worth it. The shop owner very welcoming, and the whole process took 15 minutes. He made sure that I was making the best suitable expression for a passport photo, and the result was excellent. I think it was like $25 for the pair of pictures. I didn't mind paying a little more, knowing that I was supporting a small local business. A testament to his quality, the processing rep at the passport agency specifically commented on the quality and clarity. She was highly impressed by the imagand made sure to tell so. While I was in line at the Dallas Passport Agency, I saw a few people turned away for photos that failed to meet their strict guidelines and measurement requirements. I found Terry and APV studios after a long search online and becoming frustrated at how difficult it was to get my passport photos done. I had previously been to Walgreens; and my photos were rejected by Passport Canada , and I was worried I would have to fly home and get it done - costing me far more than just a 2 hour drive to Dallas. Luckily, Terry has all the specs for a Canadian passport (to include the stamps on the back) and he is such a fun and positive person to be around! After UPS, FedEx, and Walgreens all told me they couldn't do the photo dimensions of 45mm high by 35mm wide, I came here and extremely glad I did. I found APV Studios on Yelp and realized it was only a couple if miles from my house on a good traffic street. I arrived just as the owner opened shop. About the owner he's funny, efficient, quick, funny, asks the right questions so he knows what kind of photo to take, funny and very professional. In and out in about 20 minutes and it only took that long because we had a good conversation going and there wasn't anyone waiting behind me.
