The shirts and hats here are pricier than a touristy beach shop, but they look like they'll last for years to come and many more beach visits. If you have kids to shop for, this is a great spot, and you can find everything from shirts and hats to books written by local authors. I personally like buying Christmas ornaments when traveling, and Islands Mercantile has an impressive selection of those, too. When you walk in, almost all of the items are Kiawah themed, but as you walk to the back of the stores you see enclaves of Seabrook items. Check out the sale area for deals too.

Most gift shops were closed by that point, aside from Pipeline. They had a huge selection, so I ended up spending way over $100 for toooo much stuff. I even bought myself a couple of shirts and magnets. They had items for both Charleston and Isle of Palms, which was even better. I'd definitely recommend this spot. And it's HUGE.

Yes, it is about an inch long and really works! There are pictures, ceramics, jewelry, decorations. Jammed packed with beautiful things. We purchased several gifts and had them shipped home. They have such cool, casual, travel-friendly apparel and accessories! I will say, however, that on my recent visit, the store just didn't look good. I just remember being a bit more impressed with the store aesthetics in the past. Not sure why, but the place looked unkempt and out of sorts. Again, possibly the huge crowd on the day I was there?? Still, I left the store with at least 2 clothing items...which I KNOW will come to good use. For some reason, I tend to wear clothes bought from here often. Why...SO comfy!!! How does this Tina Stephens compare to other locations? I can only compare this location to the one on King Street downtown- or the web site. This location is on the one hand more intimate and easier to get in and out than the downtown location. There tends to be only one staff person and that individual tends to be less knowledgeable BUT the downtown staff is just a phone call away for them. Also, if you know what you want, they can get it. Other than the basics (see below), both stores offer many items not available at all on the website (which is a unique thing about this company). 2. What the heck IS Tina Stephens? Tina Stephens is a clothing store that sells the best leggings ever. My favorites are the micro rib. Sometimes when I am at work hurrying through my day I actually notice how comfortable they are (and have a moment of gratitude). The leggings come in a large number of trending colors and they also have matching tanks, v-necks, Mock turtle neck and other style tops, as well as skirts and dresses. Plus, they sell a unique style of elegant (but not too dressy- perfect for my work environment) clothes that go with leggings/tops/bottoms. If you only look at the website you might think "this stuff looks like sausage casing, I can't wear that" but it's the other clothes they sell in the stores (but not as much in the website) that makes it all so flattering. It's worth taking some time in the store to figure it all out.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I took a short in to have a monogram on the cuff. I provided a…read morephoto of exactly what I wanted. When I picked it up, it was it centered the way I asked and the gal at the counter said it was her fault and apologized. Fine. The quality of the embroidery was very poor, you could see the white shirt through the blue thread in several areas. In addition, the lower case "j" was dotted but not the lower case "i". When I pointed these two things out, the employees (not the one who apologized) got rude and belligerent as if it was somehow my fault that rules of writing small letters exist. The gentleman kept asking me what I wanted him to do about it. I replied, I just want you to fix it. He threw up his hands and stomped to the back room. This left the poor lady behind the counter looking embarrassed and I felt terrible for her. She looked at me and said I am not sure what to do. I told her a good start would be to refund my money which she did, again with an apology. When I got home, we realized that the monograming was so off center it was in the back of the cuff so would not be seen by anybody and again, terribly off center. I am not clear how when a customer shows you a picture of exactly what they want, you do it so horribly wrong. The shirt is ruined as, if you take the thread out, the shirt will have hundreds of holes. I reached out to these folks and suggested that they replace the shirt and have heard nothing. Perhaps they feel that since they are the only game in town they can afford to treat customers this way. Perhaps they are just rude people. I will not use them again (there are other games in town) and, I will never recommend them. Do yourself a favor and do not use them. Not only is the work shoddy, the people apparently are as well.
