Erratic people, I'd avoid. Their pool service was fine, for the most part. We'd been with them over a year, but we've now canceled our service after a pretty confusing and unprofessional interaction with Thomas. They cleaned out the filter on a friday and a day later we noticed the spa had completely drained. The pool is covered by a camera and we looked and saw it drained around the time or just after they'd been doing the filter cleaning. I reached out and they told us to turn off all the equipment and the breakers, which I did. They then said they'd be over to take a look at what happened. After not hearing anything for a few hours I texted and was told there was a weekend visit fee if we wanted them to show up and deal with the issue they'd caused. After many text messages and back and forth, someone came by and filled up the spa again, but didn't deal with the filter/pump. They seemed to do this on the Monday or Tuesday but then they told us (a) there were a bunch of items we needed to purchase for the pool and (b) they were raising our prices by $65 (a week? a month? it wasn't clear - they're not great communicators outside of their weekly automated 'we cleaned your pool' emails). I had another company come by to check everything out, and there didn't seem to be any major issues - there was something about the spa actuator that was tripped that led to the draining but it didn't seem like it happens frequently. The new company seems on top of it though. I'm not sure why this guy got a bee in his bonnet and wanted to fire us as a customer, but this whole incident seemed completely unprofessional and I'd caution people to not deal with this company if they can avoid it. read more

If you're looking for a reputable pool company, avoid Aqua King Pool & Spa like the plague. They just got us for $560 for replacing a booster pump which they installed back in October, nine months ago for $635, and was supposed to be under warranty; and their technician was rude to our family. They also took the failed pump with them, I assume to try to factory-return it so that they have a new pump to sell. I contacted them via email, requesting that the under-warranty pump be returned two days ago, and still have received no response. They may have been a fine company once, but as they've grown, their practices seem to have gotten shadier and shadier. We would and will not have them return to service our pool. read more

At first we had decent service but over the last month the pool has remained dirty and now we've had two solid weeks of algae. Each week we reported the algae and the tech left without resolving the issue both times. This morning we used Leslie to test our pool and it was quite out of balance (much worse than when we maintained the pool ourselves). Also, work on a repair previously by Aqua King completely left an actuator off the pool equipment that controlled our bubbler. We had to point out the error and they fixed, but altered the original setup of the equipment. We don't believe this caused any issues, but we would have preferred the pool stayed in the original configuration. read more

We used Aqua King for over a year for weekly cleanings. In April one of their techs broke some of our patio tiles. We showed him the video footage of the moment the damage happened, they came out to look and promised to repair it. They had a tiler reach out to us but he never actually showed up and eventually he and Aqua King's owner just ghosted us after they informed us that they were not going to service our pool anymore. We finally had to give up and find someone on our own to repair the damage at our expense and of course find a new service. I know mistakes happen but how hard is it to own up to them and make them right. read more

Aqua King is hands down the best pool servicer you will find. Thomas and team are excellent - professional, knowledgeable, and actually out to help their customers. We bought a house with a 15+ year old pool so we have had our share of problems with aging equipment. With each issue, Thomas has helped try to prolong the life of each part rather than rush to replace it. He has helped me find inexpensive solutions to expensive problems where ever he can, he has talked me through how to fix small things rather than charging me to come out to do it himself, and when replacement is the only option, he and his team have done flawless work. There are few companies left that really care about the people they service; this is one of the few. Highly recommend going to them for any pool related needs. read more

I don't write a lot of reviews online, but I'm going to this time because I feel especially cared for by Aqua King Pool & Spa and its owner, Thomas. First thing is they're always available to answer the phone or take a text nearly around the clock. Over the years they've done things like run a brand new LED light into the spa, replaced the light in the main pool, replaced the pool sweep motor, replaced the filter, motor, multiple plumbing, repairs and much much more over the decade or so that I've been there customer. Their prices are very reasonable, they schedule you for appointments quickly, and they get the job done right. Thomas has given me lots of wonderful and free advice over the years. It's a very friendly operation, Thomas's wife does the invoicing and they treat you like family when you deal with them. I'm glad some of you had a good experience with Aqua King, as mine was terrible, plus the business that recommended them has been getting bad feedback also. Our estimate was accepted June 5 and some work began shortly there after with quick payment in full, but I informed Thomas some of the work was incomplete plus a larger leak had occurred in an area that was supposed to have been repaired and those leaks needed to be finished, plus I wanted some additional estimates for work. After a couple of weeks, I texted twice with no response and finally called. Thomas said they hadn't forgotten about me but were busy as July 4 was approaching. That was the last I have heard from him. Phone calls and texts are not answered, and there have been no response from emails. I guess our job wasn't big enough (over $1000) for him to be concerned with completing. read more

Very disappointed. Paid Thomas to diagnose an issue with my spa water level. He had me Google and watch a YouTube video on doing a bucket test myself. And then he never returned, despite numerous requests. Been 2 months. read more

Aqua king was sent out by my home warranty company as a second inspection. Since then, I've solely used Thomas and his team. He is straight forward (good, bad, or ugly) so that you, the consumer, can make the best choice. I plan on calling him out for any potential future issues as well. GREAT experiences! read more

Aqua King was sent out through our home warranty company. Thomas was my main point of contact(twice). Their prices are quite exaggerated. My warranty company would cover up to a certain limit and the rest would come out of my pocket for the motor pump. Considering that I called Thomas, who is knowledgeable but very aggressive. I requested him to give competitive pricing on the motor replacement to which he responded in a heartbeat - take our prices or go find someone else. Aqua King is very well aware that warranty companies try to stick to their own contractors so going with my own contractor will most likely be declined by the warranty company or will be an extremely painful process. He never sent me an invoice of the repair costs (just verbal number over the phone) Another point of contact was Freddie (knowledgable, polite and helpful) If your warranty company covers all the costs, Aqua King is probably fine, but you are paying for it I recommend finding another more reasonable company with better customer service to save you $$, else Aqua King is a rip-off. read more

Aqua king was sent out by my home warranty company after we opened our claim on December 24th. Here we are February 20th and I still don't have repaired pool pump. Twice they set up appointments and never called or showed up. Today I emailed them letting him know I needed to get the work completed by this Friday (Good lord it's been since December 24) and Thomas responded with "We will require payment in advance. Please let us know if you still want the completion of this work order." I've wanted this work order completed since December 24th. No explanation as to why they no showed twice on me, and now all of a sudden they want advanced payment of the work to be done?? I've been in business for many years and done plenty of business to know that if a company has to get paid in advanced you probably shouldn't use them, especially if they can't show up when they say they will. No mention of advance payment on the other 2 appointments (that they no call no showed). I let Thomas know that I wasn't too pleased about that response after all this time nor was I comfortable paying in advance on services yet to be rendered and his response was "Please utilize your other vendors for completion of your projects. Thank you." Seemed like a nice enough guy but a little shady on the business practices and customer service. read more

Beware of this unprofessional company. Numerous complaints within my neighborhood and reported to home warranty company. They take their time completing work and somehow everytime they leave something else mysteriously breaks that you need to pay extra to repair. Do not trust this company find someone else to repair your pool equipment. read more

I called Aqua King to take a look at a leaky pump motor. Thomas came out and inspected the motor and gave me a great and reasonable quote for the repairs. I was afraid they would tell me the 15 year old motor would need to be replaced, but nope just needed some tlc and would be good to go. The owner arrived looked at the equipment and said he could fix it however after 5 days of this company yanking us around, us leaving messages with no call backs, no shows and saying they had been there and had not, we were done. We called the warranty company and told them to send us a new company. Another company owner came out that very hot Friday evening after his regular work day and had our pool up and running in 2 hours. Aqua King was sent to us by a home warranty company. We paid the $100 service fee up front. The warranty company denied our claim because the specific part wasn't covered in our contract (fair enough). I tried for a couple of weeks to get Thomas to call me back and let me know how much repairing the valve would cost--several texts and voicemails, but got no response. When he finally called me back he gave me a runaround about how it wasn't a covered item--I said fine, I still wanted to get it repaired so he threw out a quote that was almost TWICE what a plumber had quoted me when he was at my house for an install last week. Unreal. He said it would cost so much because they would have to subcontract it out to an actual plumber. So basically he got paid $100 to stop by my house for 5 minutes, spent much longer than that trying to upsell me on using him for different pool services and then wouldn't follow-up to fix my valve unless I paid him twice what a plumber charges. That's shady and it's the only shady vendor we'd had through our home warranty company. Will not use and cannot recommend. I am requesting our home warranty list Aqua King as an unacceptable pool technician for our future repairs. read more
