We are new pool owners and Stacy has been so patient and proactive since Day 1 of meeting us. When she is here, she checks in to be sure we don't have questions, she loves on the dogs who won't leave her alone, and when our 6 year old is here, he will go out and she teaches him how to get the leaves out of the pool and patiently answers his constant questions. Today, with the horrible ice storm, she texted us first thing this morning to tell us that we should be good to go with the pool settings as is. But then when we asked her a question later, she said she'd just run by to check on things, which she did (did i mention ICE STORM??) and all was well. Super dissapointed in the service. Pool just got worse! They didn't come when they were supposed to and the alge was worse then ever. When we said something about it we just got a bunch of excuses. And then got over chargered, all of a sudden everything started to "need to be replaced". Got tired of it and switched to Pool Ninja. Pool cleared up, apprently there were no chemicals in the pool. UPDATE: Piranha Pools replied to my review and just to be clear, my review is based on the time frame I had these issues. I just now got around to leaving my review a year later. My filters were damaged when they came out. As I stated, Piranha Pools came out and gave me some BS stating they fixed the problem when they never did a thorough check. They basically wanted to do some type of work to get paid and leave. I also wasn't able to get them to come back out after still having problems without them trying to charge me again. My home warranty wouldn't pay for them to come out again either because Piranha Pools told them that they resolved the problem and that nothing else was wrong. ORIGINAL/ACCURATE REVIEW: I'll start out with letting you know that I'm a new pool owner, with no experience at all. After moving into my 'new' house I tried maintaining the pool as best I could, based on what the previous owners had told me to do. After about a month of frustration I realized that my system isn't putting chlorine into the pool. I called my home warranty which sent out Piranha Pools for $75. Two guys came out, one was obviously brand new. They checked a few parts here and there and replaced 3 different seals stating that the problem is that too much air was in the system so water wasn't flowing properly. This didn't fix anything. After a lot of frustration and 2 other pool companies, I realized that the problem was my filters had holes and the DE powder was flowing through them back into the pool. Piranha Pools never checked my filter and told me they knew what was wrong when they clearly didn't. I don't recommend these guys at all if you're having equipment problems. read more

John is our pool cleaning technician and I can't say enough how pleased I am with his service. He really takes the time and does a great job! I love the communication after the cleanings that describes the work done, chemicals added and pictures included! It is such a relief to have a solid company taking care of this, especially when you're out of town. My previous experience with an independent pool cleaning contractor left me frustrated. It was hit or miss that he would even show up and I had to wonder if the chemicals were even being added. Sometimes you need to experience the mediocre to appreciate the expert. You want the best, you've found them! Piranha Pools rocks!!! We have used the Piranha Pools team since the first day our pool was built last summer (2013); they're awesome! From Rhonda running the front office, Bill teaching Pool School, to Linda managing our pool chemicals, these guys are the total package! We've only had our pool for a year, and the Piranha team has taught/mentored us along the way. In fact, Linda does a great job of kindly reminding us when we're not emptying our skimmers or our filter "basket" often enough. She has also taught me how to keep the chemical levels balanced between their visits. It's not too hard to maintain, but I've still decided that they keep our pool so nice, that I've asked them to come every week between May & September (hottest months) to keep it perfect! At the end of the day, I trust the Piranha team 100 x more than I do myself when it comes to keeping my pool in tip top shape. In fact, I have given them my gate code and never question whether or not they'll show up, take great care of our pool, or keep our property secure. I sweep it every so often, but other than that, they make it so easy for our family to just jump in and enjoy our pool with very minimal work. That's exactly why we built the pool in the first place. The guy Jason advocates his previous business vendors for unnecessary repairs to get the cut. The Piranha pool owner went to unethical route to conspire with our warranty to make some money. this pool company was sent to my house by my home warranty company after my poil filter broke. They came and replaced my filter and said its running at to high of a pressure and they would be out next day to look at and trouble shoot. Two days later they show up no phone call no explanation and move some pipes. so at this point i have no idea. Also which kinda upset me more was that they left all of the trash for me to pick up. Old filter and the box the new filter came out of. Very second rate and no attn to detail in my opinion. Other than l that the owner seems easy to deal with. We have had Piranha servicing our pool for around 6 months and we couldn't be more thrilled. The pool is light years ahead of our prior pool routine with clear, crips water that is far more inviting than it ever has been. We were out of town during the recent freeze in December and were told we had pipes break by a neighbor. The owner himself swung by to make sure everything was OK with the pool (it was!) They operate with such integrity and provided great advice when we recently resurfaced the entire pool. They recommended low power LED lights, glow in the dark tiles on the stairs to improve nighttime visibility, and technology add-ons so I can control the pool features remotely. They have been so easy to work with and their billing is prompt, clear, and very reasonable. They are even so high tech, I receive an email after every visit with detailed information on the pool including pictures. If you are in the Austin area and need pool service, these are the only people to consider. read more

Don't even consider trying to work with these people. We contacted them due to the death of close family member which required us to be in Chicago for 2 weeks. At first they quoted us $100 for the first visit to clean up a haze problem and then $50 a week for the next 2 weeks that we needed service so I prepaid them $200. When the pool person came over she pointed out that she only needed to add a couple of chemicals to clear up the problem so I called back the owner who agreed to reduce the price of the first visit to $50. Two weeks later we learned that they had not shown up for the next visit and didn't even notify us. When we called them about it, they wouldn't return calls for several days. When I finally got them on the phone they first said that the pool person was on vacation and they hadn't gotten a chance to schedule someone else or to call us back. Then they claimed that we should have paid them the $100 that we originally agreed on because the chemicals alone cost $50 (I checked and at most they cost about $15). They did come back out for one final visit and then I decided to drop the whole thing as I couldn't trust them and didn't want them to come back out again. read more

Can't say enough good things about Bill and Rhonda. We've been clients for a few years and the service is always exemplary. The pool always looks great, the emergencies always handled quickly and they always have a fair price. Most recently we had an issue with a valve actuator that went out during a pool party. I texted a photo of the valve actuator to Bill, he talked me through the quick fix and they came out and repaired it on Monday at a great price. Issue turned out to be user error on our part as we're new pool owners, but they were happy to explain and answer any questions I had while out and correcting my problem, refilling spa section of pool and testing functionality. Honest and competent. Great combination when dealing with pool companies. We like to support locally owned businesses so we called Piranha after reading good reviews on nextdoor.com. They worked around my busy schedule and did the work I requested quickly without trying to upsell at all. I also asked for them to look at a couple of other issues and the root cause of each problem was identified and resolved at the most reasonable cost. The 5th star is because they came back and fixed a part on my Polaris sweeper without any added labor. They could have just dropped off the part but they went the extra yard to provide service. They are super nice people that just want to do the right thing for their customers. I understand frustration that can enter into the picture when there is a home warranty company involved. That complicates the process and it's easiest to blame the people you actually see. After getting to know the folks at Piranha I am convinced they will do everything they can to make things right under the limits of the warranty and if they are wrong about something they will admit it and apologize. read more
