They are very lazy and won't even write up their own estimate requests - they expect the customers to do it for them and ask for all of your personal information in an online form to even give you a quote. They also never answer the phone when you call. They text you. Bad customer service and unprofessional in the brief dealing I had with them. Suspicious how they don't answer their phone. A company who doesn't answer the phone and lets you go to voice mail and texts you instead isn't one I'd want to pay money to because you know that's how they will be if you have any problems in the future. My pool filter was 25 years old and barely worked. So I decided to install a new one. Finding someone to install it was another story. Some guy gave me a quote based on 400,000 BTU without even asking the size of the pool or the size of the gas line going to the heater. Another guy quoted a different price also without seeing the pool, etc. Both of these were listed on Yelp with many 5 star reviews! So I did a Google search for pool heater replacement and Aqua Masters came up. First I noticed their Contractor's License Number, then their LA Health Permit. After I checked out the permit and found it was in good standing and they had worker's comp, then I called them. I spoke to Richard. He answered all of my questions and when I asked about getting a quote he asked if I could send him texts with photos of my heater which I did. Then he asked me to see if the old one has its BTU anyplace. It did on the inside panel. Based on the photos and Richard being able to see my gas line to the old heater, he sent me a quote for a new Jandy heater. He was ready to install it the next day. Richard cane by with the new Jandy heater and his installer removed the old one and installed the new one in about 2 1/2 hours and did a great job cleaning up everything. I gave it one star because you can't do zero.... The worst pool man I have ever had. The worst. "Walter" if that is even the guy's name, was a horrible pool guy, he couldn't follow simple instructions such as call me an hour before coming to make sure me or someone else is there. Which lead to many weeks of my pool not getting cleaned which would make no difference coz he never did a decent job anyway. I did more to my pool in the time he was my pool guy than he did. He started to charge me every time he cleaned the filter, 40$. When he actually did clean the pool normally after a pool guy comes you'd smell the chlorine he'd dump in the pool, never did I ever smell anything coz he never did anything. My girlfriend was in the pool one day when he came standing on the algae which he was so sure was "ash" from a fire that happened in Santa Clarita months ago. It wasn't ash it was algae. It was furry, ash isn't furry. He didn't believe me when I told him it was not ash. I don't know why but he didn't. The only good thing he did was replace my pump. He was rude, he was terrible at his job, it was so unpleasant to see him. I hated him being around for the literal two minutes he stayed at my house. I don't have anything bad to say about Aqua Masters! About a year ago they took my pool which literally looked like a swamp and revamped it for a very fair price. Every week since then our pool has been clean and ready for swimming. I have two German shepherds who like to make a lot of mess in the pool but it poses no problems for these guys! You already know when you're talking to a trusted source. Your gut won't be telling you anything else but to hand your pool off to them. They said their tech had been to service the pool when they never had. then, even when they realized it was their mistake, they just refunded the money and quit on us instead of apologizing, fixing the problem and moving on. they just quit on us when i needed them and, furthermore, acted smug about it. terrible on every level. The current pool company I had used for years had been slacking and I knew I needed to find someone new when the heater stopped working and he didn't return my call or offer to come look at it for two days.
