I have been to this salon several times...with appointments...and have never had a problem. However, today I had an appointment with Chuck. I was a couple of minutes early for my 12:15 appointment. When I went back to the pedicure area, Chuck had another client in the chair and it was apparent he wasn't close to being finished with her. There didn't appear to be another tech to be able to do my pedicure. I pay good money for their services, and I am a generous tipper. Yet, no one seemed to care that I was going to have to wait at least 30 minutes. This was a Sunday afternoon, and they open at noon. I had received a confirmation from the salon for my appointment time. WHY would you start a client, knowing you have a fairly regular client coming in in 15 minutes? I live in Lexington, and I drove 25 minutes to get to the salon. I make appointments for a reason...I have other things to do. I do not show up late for them. Went for a midday Friday pedicure with my husband. We had not visited in awhile. My toes are still throbbing 24 hours later. The pumice stone was used on skin that had No calluses and across nails (I was clutching the chair arms tightly!). He (I think "Jon") also used the nail file on my skin that caused my skin to bleed. I am having to use a bandaid on my toes due to the open skin rubbing and becoming more irritated. He did not know how to address ingrown toenails at all. It was the roughest pedicure I have EVER had! I do recommend going during the week, especially when rainy. Was quiet and peaceful, aside from the extreme pain. read more

Was a loyal customer, never again. So it seems to me that they don't care about the well-being of their customers. After having my nails done there for about 4 months, they started filing down the sns coat instead of taking it off completely. Each time I would go, I asked about this, but was told that it was OK. Nail tech was super sweet and they soaked my nails off instead of just popping them off with a tip. I however was disappointed when she started painting my nails. I asked for a French tip acrylic set with green instead of white but was given sloppy triangles on the ends of my fingers. My cuticle was also cut during filing. Tech was super nice so I did not have the heart to tell her but was disappointed as this was not close to what I asked for. As I was explaining to this man I had an overlay on my toes and I would like them removed then added back on, some lady scrubbing feet confirmed to me what I was asking for. Homeboy smiled and asked me if my water was okay and that was it. Literally that's it. I sat in that water for over an hour with not even a check in from not one employee. The water got cold, this ugly wall I was just staring at was a mess and my feet were all soggy and gross. I left with wet feet and not one employee said anything to me as I was leaving. I'm from the west coast and I'm not sure but we don't do service like this. It was extremely tacky, unprofessional and honestly ghetto. We both got basic manicures, which were well-done and inexpensive compared to what I pay in NJ. He didn't want to do a white French tip because he would have to take my current acrylics off (no duh) he didn't want to. I'd give this place a 2.5. I've tried a few places in Winston-Salem for pedicures and decided to try this place. I got a really great eyebrow wax here a few months ago (highly recommend for that!) so I thought the pedicure would be just as good. First, it appears the only two choices are an "express" pedicure for $25, or a Deluxe one for $35 which includes hot towel, sugar scrub, hot stone massage, massage, parrafin wax... all sounds promising! The lady who did the water in the tub made it WAY too hot and I couldn't even put my feet in at first, but that was fixed. I found the massage to be pretty good but really, really short, and honestly, that's about 75% of the reason I go get pedicures. The hot stone part was about a minute total and the rest of the massage was no more than 2-3 minutes. The man doing my pedicure did to a great job at the actual cutting, trimming, and callous removal - he was very thorough and careful! Also did a great job at painting my nails. I just felt like the "upgraded" stuff was not worth the extra cost and was rushed. The massage chairs are decent. My biggest complaint is the WINE. I have never had wine that tasted like kool-aid before, but it was truly some of the worst wine I've ever had. read more

So back in mid summer my mother and I were looking for a place to get a quick, but relaxing, pedicure and I read review after review. We landed on Aqua Spa because of the good reviews and location. After that first initial visit we have both proclaimed we will not go to any other nail son in Winston! Everyone at Aqua is so nice and welcoming. The customer service is impeccable. They greet you right away, make great conversation during your visit, and do all they can to make your experience enjoyable. My mom always asks for Tom now as she says he gives amazing pedicures and outstanding massages. I have had two different ladies on my visits and loved them both but Wen was especially friendly! I love the decor and water pieces located in the salon. The lighting and setup make it feel so calm and relaxing. It is so creative to have the front set up as a "nail bar"! It makes for a unique and enjoyable experience. I witnessed two different women come in this past weekend and be quite rude and curt with the staff and both times they handled it with grace. I hate that people feel it's okay to ever talk down to anyone in the service industry but admire those who handle it so well. Being there and getting your nails done feels like you are just hanging with friends. I don't get my nails or toes done often as it is a luxury for me but going to Aqua Spa makes me want to make it happen more often. If there is a wait it's worth it - you will NOT be disappointed. She is also just the sweetest ever. When I got home the polish was coming off and every time I washed my hands, my nails looked horrible. I don't get my nails done often, but I had a special event to go to on that day.
