My child has been with aqua tots for 2 years and it was frustrating at first with the coaches turnover, but once we found coach Sherri the experience has been absolutely wonderful. Coach Sherri utilizes different techniques to engage my child and we have switched his lessons a few times for him to have that consistency. Aqua tots is lucky to have her, and my son absolutely loves her. He talks about her even when he is not at his swim lesson. Update: Never received any communication. Very disappointed with Aqua-Tots' lack of flexibility and customer service. I accidentally scheduled two makeup lessons on back-to-back days through the app and contacted them immediately to correct the mistake. Despite reaching out right away, I was told I would lose the lesson entirely if I canceled. At nearly $40 per class, I simply wanted to move it to another day--not get a refund. Policies are important, but so is common sense and reasonable customer service. Unfortunately, neither was shown in this situation. read more

Unreliable facilities and poor coaching feedback. Not a lot going on here besides going through the motions and routine. My child has been on the same level for quite some time partially due to the fact that because of other conflicts we are unable to attend regularly. Still, other kids in his age group have excelled way past where he remains. I realize time constraints due to class size and in-between classes limits feedback but if an instructor believes that say for example that a participant may benefit from one-on-one instruction I think that that should not be withheld. I understand instructor training involves utmost positive reinforcement and complete avoidance of any critique that could even remotely be construed as negative (not to mention preservation of a good public image), but there's a point where the "placate and continue" strategy turns into something where you feel like you're being led along. There's a better way besides passively cowering and inferring: "well, it's their money and their child. If they don't get a clue with what needs to happen that's not our problem"; and that way is to create a coach/instructor journal that could be made available by app. If an instructor has been coaching a child for a while then chances are they know their tendencies, strengths and struggles. This would enable parents to process what's going on in class and what the child might benefit best from in order to progress. Also, their pool heater broke late 2025 which was an inconvenience. Lastly, whatever banked classes a family has accumulated they should be able to use even after subscription cancellation. Not all reasons for cancellation were within our control and paying families should not be penalized via forfeiture of banked makeup classes just because they become dissatisfied and decide to end instruction. read more

Aqua tots Matthews has several very good instructors, but I have to point out how amazing Andrew is as a swim instructor. He is so calming and professional and you can tell he takes great pride in his work. He gently command the attention of his students and provides the most thoughtful and clear instructions to his students. He also gives the parents useful and helpful feedback after the lessons. I'm sure that Aqua Tots works well for kids that for sure will love swimming. We wanted to try it with our three year old and she only made it to one class. She did not like the constant dunking underwater and we tried again but she refused to go in. The one star is for the unaccommodating registration plan- do not sign up unless you are sure your child will keep at it. After just two attempts I cancelled and was still charged for two months and the registration fee- $250. I understand the need for a cancellation Policies but that's pretty unfair for a 3 year old who is scared- and the parents that are screwed with excessive fees. be warned! read more

I'm going to leave a good review because this place has so many bad reviews and it's not a bad place at all! My daughter has been going over a month and she's a mermaid literally! The staff is super friendly, Amber is my fav receptionist & Sarah is the best teacher. At any time where my daughter and I were uncomfortable or were unhappy they accommodated us. It was a simple conversation and i felt so much better. My advice to those parents who don't like the crying phase for their kids, tell the instructor. I was (am) sooo happy with Aquatots! Christian is the best! My son learned more in 4 months here than he did in a year at his previous swim class. We had my son at another swim class for far too long, he "hit a wall" there and the staff just kept him where he was and took our money... I've called this location 4 different times now during their open hours and no one has ever answered the phone. I finally gave up and called the Charlotte location and the picked up right away. Frustrating because this one is closer to us but if they can even answer the phone not sure what the rest of their customer service would look like. read more

Just had our first day. Our daughter (3) LOVED. Everyone was so nice and she can't wait to go back next week.

Absolutely love this place! The staff is very friendly and welcoming. All of the instructors have great qualities. Very clean facility, and the staff is always on top of making sure it stays that way. The management is awesome as well. If there ever seemed to be an issue, they were on top of it right away. We've tried for a few months now with both our girls and unfortunately have been deeply disappointed. We have an almost 3 year old we wanted comfortable with basics before summer and screamed at the top of her lungs for multiple sessions (instructors asked us to leave her in class and she'd eventually get used to it)... after a month she is now completely terrified of water and cries when we mention taking a bath.... our oldest, just turned 7 and has asked us to please not make her go anymore because "they treat us like babies who don't know how to swim"... we had her in swim classes for 4 years (2 years group lessons and 2 years private) and is a proficient swimmer.... after multiple sessions was placed in a beginners class where I'm painfully watching the instructor teach the kids one of the key proficiencies of level 3... rolling over (and facility does NOT have showers....
