After spending a day at Capitol Reef National Park, I needed a room for the night for myself and my dog, but Torrey is quite pricey, so figured one night here would be just fine. Unfortunately is was a bit short of fine. The room is a little expensive considering you just get a bed, small TV, dining table, mini fridge, shower, and super noisy air unit which is stashed away in the corner. Very dated property and rooms. The bed was decently comfortable but that's basically all you're paying for. They do have a covered pool if that's your jam. Expensive pet fee for one night and they wouldn't waive for a support animal. No breakfast. And the biggest gripe -- wifi did not work at all despite their crappy marquee saying they offer it. The front desk said he tried resetting it but still didn't work. So didn't even get the full value of the overpriced stay. Also for pet owners, be aware it's just a dirt lot with almost no grass area. Keep your eyes peeled for broken glass too. Pass on this one. read more

We booked two rooms at the Aquarius Motel and paid over $600 for a two-night stay during Apple Days to enjoy time with our family. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. We invited two of our cousins--who were not staying at the motel--to join us at the pool for a short visit. Instead of addressing the situation respectfully, a staff member came in and began aggressively yelling--specifically at our grandchildren, who are only five and three years old. We attempted to explain that we were paying guests with only two additional visitors, but she continued to shout and point at signs, completely ignoring any effort to have a reasonable conversation. Our grandchildren were in tears. This was an incredibly unprofessional and upsetting experience. We have stayed at other accommodations in the area and have always been treated with kindness and respect. We will never stay at the Aquarius again, and we strongly advise others to take their business elsewhere. They clearly do not value their guests or know how to treat people decently. read more

Dated musty rooms, overpriced, rough parking lot, AC that hardly worked. Main reason for the low rating is for the staff. The man and woman that were on duty this weekend claimed to be the owners, but refused to tell me their names. Two of the rudest humans I've ever interacted with, and the man wasn't adult enough to talk to me in person. He chastised me from behind a ring camera like a coward. If you are the true owners, how *incredibly* embarrassing for you that that's how you treat your paying guests. If you're not the true owners, I hope the true owners see this review and fires the dishonest staff. Do not give these people your money. Not a family friendly establishment. Spacious and Clean! Booked through Expedia.com. Found this motel in the proximity of Capitol Reef National Park in Utah. We planned on spending the afternoon at the park. No one was immediately available in the premises to help us but there was instructions inside to use the push-button telephone on the counter to call a number posted so I did and I was told that they'll be right over in five minutes. Registration was easy with no hassle. The gal that came and assisted us was nice and friendly (I didn't catch her name). She asked us where we were headed and when we told her she also suggested to check out Cainesville (19 miles past Capitol Reef) and Hanksville (another 37 miles past). Wish we had more time to do this. Perhaps next time. We checked in first around 2:30p and after we got our room we proceeded to head to Torrey. Coming back from the park we went straight to our unit. The room was surprisingly spacious even with the king size bed. The room was dated but clean! The bathroom and shower tub was spotless! It had basic amenities including a small fridge, microwave oven, coffee maker, iron, hair dryer and a flatscreen TV. It was more than what we expected from a 'motel.' We had a restful evening. When we checked out the next day we took the keys back down to the registration office and dropped them off the bucket as instructed. The neon light and lettering was similar to that of the 'Bates Motel' but it was nothing like Norman's inn although I was a bit worried that we would be the only guests that evening. I feel it was a little overpriced for what it was, but it was the only place open around, so I appreciate them for being open. A few things to note: --Coffee maker doesn't work correctly. --Indoor pool and spa were closed. --Open 24/7, but you will have to call and wait for someone to come check you in and or will be a self check out process. --No late check in option for someone who arrives late. (You will be charge for 24 hours of stay, even if you have only been checked in for 8). --No continental breakfast. This motel was a great pit stop on our journey across Utah! We were visiting Capitol Reef National Park and wanted a nice place to stay for the night. We had been camping for about a week and this place was a great place for us to get a great nights rest. The town is very small, but this hotel is extremely clean and quiet. The building is older, but everything is very well kept. The shower was very nice and the room was spotless. We are very happy we stayed here. Poorly manage motel. Check in staff stole my money by refusing to allow me to have a room. I got a 2 bedroom for 4 people. When I got there they said it was $10 extra for every person staying there. They charge feeds for everything and when we told them we where going somewhere else. The manager (I think) told the worker "HURRY charge them for the room@ they charge my card and didn't even gave me a key. They stole my money. read more

Ok. I have to say that this was an amazing stay for the price. I kept telling my hubs during our 3 night stay house much I loved our hotel. First off the rooms are spacious and have lots of room. Perfect for our 18 month old to run around in. It had a table and a separate room for bath and shower and the sink. So I can be getting ready while the hubs showers. The mini fridge and microwave was great to have as well. The carpet seemed new. The the bathroom tile and fixtures were nice. The only real tip I would have for them to improve would be the towels. After hiking all day in the sun you want a shower and a soft towel to dry your sunburned skin on and the towels are a little rough. Pool was perfect for relaxing after a hard hot hike. Hot tub was great and working. My hubs and I agreed this was the perfect choice for us. You always get anxious when checking in and going to see your fate for your next few nights and it's always nice to turn that key and be pleasantly surprised. My boyfriend and I stayed overnight Wednesday, September 14, 2022 with a reservation. We had Room 2, a northeast building ground floor room. The room was large, and the carpet was perfect. The top was a tightly woven surface, like some institutional carpeting, but it had cushion as if plush carpeting. It actually sank a little when stepped on like plush carpeting. There was a fridge. A quirk of the room was that it was square with a small room at each corner, the east/right room having the shower, tub, and toilet and the left/west room the sink and counter. In other words, the bathroom was divided between two rooms. We thought it odd but got used to it quickly. I also liked there was a table with two chairs and that the chairs had upholstered seats (instead of hard plastic or wood seats). The northeast building was set back from the road and partly behind another building. The value for the price was very good. We liked it so much we'd overlook motels east in Torrey, Utah closer to Capitol Reef National park. On our road trip, this was one of 7 motels we stayed at and my first or second favorite. Stayed two nights. Glad it was close to Capitol Reef. Room was huge. Kind of weird to have the sink in a separate room, but it worked while husband was in the shower. We were also able to use the ironing board as an extra shelf for our road food. Lighting was weird. It was much too dark. Could nave used another lamp, but since we were only there to sleep, it was okay. The room was very clean. Bed was comfortable. Motel quiet except when someone next door or upstairs turned on their tub/shower. Refrigerator and microwave in the room is a plus. Flat screen tv, and was able to access MSNBC! Inn is in dire need of repairs, upkeep and upgrades. Front door lock of my room was broken; took me several minutes to unlock! Replace the lock, for heavens sake! Toilet vent blower was broken, my room smelled like you know what. I had to open the window to let out that smell. The stairs to my 2nd floor room is not safe for seniors. Lugging up our luggage was extremely unsafe and tiring. The inn needs upgrades, to meet standards of the time! read more

Rooms are very large, tub and toilet were separate from the sink with a roomy countertop. Couldn't get the TV to work, wi-fi was lagging, but not too bad. The room was clean and comfortable. The only complaint about the room is they don't distribute individual soap or shampoo. They use mounted dispensers that they fill with bulk product. The dispenser in the shower looked like it needed a good cleaning. The staff seemed nice. Our smoke detector started chirping at 10 pm because of a low battery. I called both numbers for the front desk with no answer. I was not impressed that there was no answer from any staff. I ended up pulling the battery from the detector so we could sleep. read more

A decent motel. Don't expect much given the low rates but you do get huge rooms with ample heating (not sure how this place is in the winter). You do get microwave and fridge and that's convenient especially given no supermarkets in town (closest one is in Loa if I'm not mistaken). Pool and spa seem OK by didn't try them. read more

Made reservations at the last minute as we were going to end up in Torrrey/bicknell. The retired couple that run this motel are sincerely the nicest we have meet in our travels. Although there is no place to eat on the premises, there is the badger den within walking distance and has great brick oven pizza. There is also a covered and heated pool and jacuzzi to recuperate your tired muscles. Best of all those traveling with minimal clothing there is a laundromat beside the pool and the motel had detergent and dryer sheets. Great idea for those on bikes. Great place to stay and managed by very nice people. Rooms were clean and huge. They had a microwave and fridge in each. The only con was the a/c was small for the room, but temp was fine in September. read more

easily the best affordable place I've found to stay in the Capitol Reef area, hands down - other places were going for $86 a night in Torrey while seven miles further west, Aquarius was going for about $25 less. it's clean, comfortable (really comfortable), super quiet, spacious, has a pool and hot tub - sure the fixtures are a bit dated but that's what you get when it's been there 30 years. there's not much in the way of restaurants in Bicknell so plan to eat in Torrey before driving over, but the bonus is you're almost to the only real grocery in the area in Loa, so you can really lay in provisions for breakfast and lunch. I've stayed at maybe a dozen places from Zion to Capitol Reef, and while some of the more expensive ones are better furnished, Aquarius provides the biggest bang for your buck read more

Bedbugs. That about sums up our stay. I woke up and found a bug on my bed, then I threw back the sheets and found them everywhere. There is no way they didn't know they had bed bugs. They would have seen them everywhere when they changed the sheets. I am disgusted, terrified I brought them home and have bug bites all over my body. He refused to refund me the second room (next door that we went back and forth from) that my husband and other kids slept in, or cover the cost of our bassinet and pack n play that can't be cleaned so we threw away. Yes, the rooms and huge but they have a bed bug infestation. I would NEVER stay there if I were you. read more

Desk clerk was nice but very medicated due to having an arm injury. The rooms were clean, I will give this motel that much. Super dated rooms without the charm of being retro. We stayed in a room away from the main motel, the room was big as if it use to be an efficiency apartment. It smelled very stale in the room, so much so I had to burn an incense from my personal collection. There were no coat hangers in the area with the sink, even though there was a huge metal bar that took up the entire wall. There was a press board style hanging closet next to this area that had about 5 stationary coat hangers in it though. The very dated air conditioner was located in the sink room instead of being in the main room so it took forever to cool down the approximately 275sq unit. We decided to swim in the pool around 9pm. It smelled very chlorinated as soon as you entered the area. We stayed in the pool about 20 mins until a bunch of kids came in. We decided to let them have the entire pool area, so we dried off a bit and then decided to get into the hot tub. None of the jets functioned except for one foot jet. We had not been in the hot tub any longer than about 5 mins before my eyes started to feel like they were on fire & our skin was feeling like it was burning. The temperature was high/hot but we felt as if we were getting chemical burns. We jumped out and went to our room immediately and took showers. I had to wash out our bathing attire because it smelled so horrible. The water that rinsed off was a pale yellow like bleach. I noticed that my bathing suit had discolored so much so that the chemicals had ate a hole in my top and bleached out my bottoms. I went straight to the office after getting dressed, it was 10pm by this time. I informed the desk clerk that the hot tub needed to be shut down due to our experience until it could be inspected/fixed before someone got hurt from chemical burns. The owner's wife was in the office by this time as I was explaining all this. I asked if I could be compensated for my ruined bathing suit. She rudely told me I would have to go speak with her husband up at the pool. I explained to her that it was not my responsibility to chase after the owner, whom I didn't know. I waited in the office until he came down from the pool area. I asked him what the readings were, he told me he shut the pool and hot tub down for the night since it was closing time. He told me to return to the office in the morning and he would read the water then. I did so and he confessed that the levels were very high. We came to an agreement to replace my ruined suit, after I had to get very to the point of the matter with him. Spend the extra money and stay somewhere else, very backward, unprofessional owners. read more
