Spacious and Clean! Booked through Expedia.com. Found this motel in the proximity of Capitol Reef National Park in Utah. We planned on spending the afternoon at the park. No one was immediately available in the premises to help us but there was instructions inside to use the push-button telephone on the counter to call a number posted so I did and I was told that they'll be right over in five minutes. Registration was easy with no hassle. The gal that came and assisted us was nice and friendly (I didn't catch her name). She asked us where we were headed and when we told her she also suggested to check out Cainesville (19 miles past Capitol Reef) and Hanksville (another 37 miles past). Wish we had more time to do this. Perhaps next time. We checked in first around 2:30p and after we got our room we proceeded to head to Torrey. Coming back from the park we went straight to our unit. The room was surprisingly spacious even with the king size bed. The room was dated but clean! The bathroom and shower tub was spotless! It had basic amenities including a small fridge, microwave oven, coffee maker, iron, hair dryer and a flatscreen TV. It was more than what we expected from a 'motel.' We had a restful evening. When we checked out the next day we took the keys back down to the registration office and dropped them off the bucket as instructed. The neon light and lettering was similar to that of the 'Bates Motel' but it was nothing like Norman's inn although I was a bit worried that we would be the only guests that evening. It turned out that six other cars were parked on the lot when we left. The nightly $ rate was cheap! Great deal! Review #1328

This motel was a great pit stop on our journey across Utah! We were visiting Capitol Reef National Park and wanted a nice place to stay for the night. We had been camping for about a week and this place was a great place for us to get a great nights rest. The town is very small, but this hotel is extremely clean and quiet. The building is older, but everything is very well kept. The shower was very nice and the room was spotless. We are very happy we stayed here. Our motel room was huge and gave us plenty of space!

Pros: the rooms were so big! Plenty of space and was not cramped at all. Rooms were decently clean! Cons: hot tub was closed during March as they don't leave it open during the winter :( Good value for the amount of money we paid. Overall would recommend

This is an awesome, spacious place to stay - free Wifi, indoor pool and spa as well as exercise machines, microwave and fridge.

We liked it so much we'd overlook motels east in Torrey, Utah closer to Capitol Reef National park.

That was a very pleasant surprise. This place seems newly constructed and was very nicely designed to be spacious feeling in a very simple way. The main building was just a row of rooms, similar to a motel, but the artistry of the rope walls flowing like a canyon, really uplifted the whole feel. In the room the green plants, wall art and simplicity of a clean room, with the space to have comfy seating gave a feeling of ease. The open view to the cliff wall from the sliding door wall was about the prettiest scene you would want out of your bedroom. They offer rooms with and without a hot-tub on the back porch, as well as dome rooms, some with skylights for night time star viewing. However the domes don't open for reservations until sometime in April, the rooms with hot-tubs go very quickly!! I regret to say that we only stayed overnight. I now wish I had given us more time in this delightful hotel.

Incredibly clean and huge thank you to the folks who refreshed our room!! We got the king suite with hot tub on the patio. As everyone mentioned, stunning views. The stargazing rooftop was a fun option! The customer service was outstanding. The owner Joshua helped make sure our stay was perfect! All of the other staff we interfaced with were wonderful too. I also love the reusable water bottles in the mini fridge. We used those throughout the stay and were perfect after hiking!! Love the Shooke Coffee in the rooms with the French press - the best way to have coffee in a hotel. Definitely checkout their storefront while you're in town! No complaints, no notes. Would recommend to everyone! Thank you, Skyview!

The room was a good sized room for a motel, tub is wide, soft towels, comfortable bed. Nice black out curtains. The bathroom is small but located away from the sleeping area. Downside is no closet and no table to put your stuff. The fridge had a tiny freezer shelf, no microwave. The owner was super nice! Very friendly and inquired about our trip. Good place for a nite or two in the area. Btw- the restaurant is no longer opened because the owner couldn't find any employees. What a shame!

Fortunately we were about a mile west of Bicknell so were doing about 45 and my wife was driving. She drives with both hands on the wheel so never lost control. We found an open garage and they bent materials away from wheel enough to drive the car but left headlight gone so we couldn't drive at night and had to spend the night in Bicknell. We were able to get a room at Sunglow. This is a cute, old style motel with rooms in a row in a courtyard. Our room was sparse and diminutive but very clean and comfy. After the accident and a couple hours with garage and highway patrol, then Thrifty Rental Cars and auto insurance, we were hungry. The restaurant looked very inviting so headed there. First things you notice are the pie display cases and the unusual pies. Pinto Bean? Pickle? Oatmeal? Hmmm. Of course they had plenty of "regular" pies but those were what they were famous for. Looking over the menu, my wife selected the Chicken Cordon Bleu and a salad. Several items appealed to me and I chose my fav - Country Fried Steak and French Onion soup. My French Onion soup came quickly and was some of the best I've ever eaten. My wife's salad also came but seeing my soup, she switched her salad for the same. My wife said her Chicken Cordon Bleu was delicious. Unfortunately for me, my Country Fried Steak was tough and full of gristle. The worst I've ever eaten. Of course my wife had to try a slice of pie. She shied away from the unusual ones and chose Cherry pie with vanilla ice cream. It was really delicious.I

If you're on your way in or out of Capitol Reef National Park, these are located in the town of Bicknell, bordering Lyman. There are 8 cabins to choose from all made from different types of wood. We stayed in Cabin #4. It was perfectly simplistic. It was furnished with two queen beds, and a private restroom with a shower in the back of the cabin. Keep in mind that the cabin is not equipped with air conditioning, but does have a heater. Our toddler son loved to play on the front porch, and the surrounding views are gorgeous as well. Would definitely recommend.

However, these cabins are a solid option - contactless check-in/checkout, clean interior, and great prices. Ontop of that there is a trail above the cabins that leads to a channel from the Fremont River, as well as sweeping views of the area. The cabin we stayed in was well constructed, clean, and offered a quiet respite after long hiking trips. I wouldn't recommend our cabin if it's really hot outside, as they have a fan and screened windows but no AC (have to wait until the outdoors cools down and then the inside will cool down as well). They do have a heater, frig, TV, microwave, and plenty of lighting. While the views aren't entirely unspoilt ( someone's fenced backyard and a lumber mill is visible), and it's a bit further than Torrey, it's still a gem of a deal for the rustic but clean ambiance, great price, and lack of noise. Plus the contactless check-in process!
