We were meeting my sister and her husband a few days ago at this rv park. We asked for our rigs to be beside each other and they graciously accompanied us. We loved our spots 30 and 40 we only had one neighbor and a nice patch of grass on the other side. Laundry facilities and restrooms were clean. The store was well stocked and there was even a bbq restaurant at the campground. It was very good. The people running the park were friendly and helpful. Giving us a lot of great info. Terrific camping resort in Torrey, Utah. I was there with a large group and we got to use the Pavilion for our meals and activities, which was very nice. The campsites are terrific. The bathhouse/laundry facilities are nice; the east one is newer and more spacious. Everything is very nicely maintained and clean. Enjoyed the campground here for a weekend. It was nicely maintained and in a great location, surrounded by beautiful nature and close to Capital Reef. The gift shop was WOW... better than any gift shop in town; don't miss it. They had a wide variety of unique souvenirs, local crafts, and camping essentials. What you can miss is the onsite BBQ restaurant... that place was slow, with microwaved potatoes, and messed up food; yuck. The service was disappointing, and the overall experience was not worth it. But everything else was great, including the friendly staff at the campground and the clean facilities. plus showers without quarters required (yes, you read that right!). We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back (but will skip the BBQ place). read more

This is the best campground that I have stayed at so far! My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights in April and tent camped. The wind gets cold here so I was glad that the bathrooms were very close to the tent sites and had space heaters in them. I also really liked how the dish sink was in the laundry room inside so I was able to wash my dishes while staying warm. All of the facilities were cleaned daily and the showers/toilets stayed clean throughout the day. The tent sites are close together and by the playground which attracted loud kids. Aside from that, this was a great place to stay and you can tell the staff really cares about the property. Be sure if you are staying here that you prepare for the weather as some mornings it was a good 10 degrees colder in Torrey when compared to the weather inside of Capital Reef. read more

This was a well cared for RV park with all the amenities, nice store, beautiful scenery, and away from crowds and traffic. It is close to Capital Reef and Goblin Valley State Park, the spaces are wide, the hook-ups all worked, the showers were clean, and the laundry was spotless with working washers and dryers. Very nice RV park. We stayed in an RV site, but they also have tent sites and cabins. The RV site (back-in site) we stayed at had full hook ups. The site was entirely gravel, but had a picnic table and was very spacious. The pull through sites have gravel pads, but also have a grass area with a tree. The views from the RV park are stunning! The park is quiet, and there are lots of places where you can walk your dog. The laundry rooms are clean. The gift store has a good variety of items. There is a pool (it was closed the entire time we were there because of the weather, but it looked nice). There is an on-site restaurant where you can order a meal to eat in the pavilion or get packaged to go. Morning muffins are available if you order by 7:00 the night before. Staff was very friendly. Would definitely stay here again. read more

Rented a jeep here and was charged a $50 "cleaning fee" for bringing it back with dust on the exterior of the vehicle. Very disappointing considering the obvious purpose of a jeep rental in this location is to drive it down a dirt road. Photo of the jeep at the end of the drive included so you can see how "filthy" it clearly was. When's the last time a car wash cost you $50? An obvious scam. Stay away from this place. read more

The employees here are super nice, despite being short staffed. With the exception of the guy with the beard on the 4-wheeler. This guy is a JERK! He told me he's just an old man with a bad attitude. Repeatedly, the people working here kept telling me how short staffed they are. From the second I walked into the gift shop to check in. Also, the spots are EXTREMELY close together. Impressed with the grounds staff consistently working to groom vacant spots, collecting garbage, watering, etc. The on-site restaurant was fantastic (excellent tri-tip!). Also appreciated the general store carrying ice, etc, the large grassy area for activities, the pool, and playground. We wish we could give more stars to this wonderful campground and the staff. We were to meet with friends who had made the arrangements for the campground. We arrived faster than expected and pulled to the side to wait for them. We were warmly greeted and told since our friend's name was registered we could set up our rig. We appreciated this as it was raining on and off. When our friends failed to show up after several hours, they tried to contact them as well and said they would notify us as soon as they checked in. They were very helpful and as relieved as we were once we heard from them. They also helped us out when we had a problem with disconnecting our sewer hose. The campground is very quiet and the gift shop is very nice as well. Thanks for a wonderful stay. read more

What a blissful 36 hours at Thousand Lakes! Our primary purpose was the cabin, and it was clean and comfortable. We loved the green space in the desert. Shout out to the friendly check-in staff of Valerie, Deb, and Rhonda (and the hard-working gentlemen), who all provided superior customer service and quintessential Utah kindness. If we ever return to Torrey and Capitol Reef, there's no question where we will stay. And the Jeep rental was perfect for Cathedral Valley! A huge thank you from our family! read more

I have to say, I was really pleasantly surprised! This place did the trick for the night. The staff at the store and park are really helpful and very friendly! This is an RV Park, first and foremost. But there aren't a lot of private campgrounds outside Capitol Reef National Park, so if you're looking for a place outside the park, this place is a pretty good fall back option! Just be aware - this isn't really "camping." They have about 10 campsites, each of which are separated by a fence so they are really close together. I was nervous at first, but this is a family RV Park and campground, and everyone really respected the quiet hours (and even though it's off the highway, we couldn't really hear the cars). Each site has a fire-ring and a picnic table, which is great. Plus, the showers were pretty good. If you can't get a spot on BLM land or at Capitol Reef, this place is a SOLID option and I would recommend it! read more

This RV Park is conveniently located near Capitol Reef National Park. It was nice and quiet at night. I didn't use the pool, but it looked clean and well-maintained. There's a big grass area to play football. There's a well-stocked gift store with local art and some food items. The bathrooms were very clean. The staff were very nice. My only complaint is the maintenance of some of the trees and bushes between campsites, they were a little gangly and I couldn't figure out where my site ended and where the other began. Great views and very picturesque. We would stay there again. read more

What a great find! The park is well maintained and in an incredible location. The office and store are a gem. Such fun items to explore from T-shirt's to jewelry to ice and firewood. You can even order fresh muffins for the morning. We ate at the BBQ and it was amazing. The cook crew was so fun and very hospitable. We had salmon and rib eye and truly one of the best meals. The salmon is simply amazing. I am going to dream about it. We will be back! read more

My wife and I stayed 2 nights here for our 25th anniversary trip. So glad we did! When I made the reservation I called and requested their favorite spot and they gave us #13. We were blown away by the view. The entire camp ground is clean and very well maintained. Staff is friendly and super helpful. We rented a Jeep from them and drove the Cathedral Valley loop as they suggested. Jeep was new, clean and handled the trail like a champ. The trail was incredible. Took us 9am-6pm to complete as we stopped to take pics and took some side trails. Would definitely come back here! read more

Avoid Thousand Lakes RV Park in Torrey, UT near Capitol Reef. The owner, Dee Lynn (not sure on the spelling, he didn't want to give me his name), is the worst RV host I've ever met. Check out is 11 am. At 10 am I talked to a really nice employee and let him know that I would pull my trailer out of my space by 11, but that our laundry was taking longer than expected so I would need to park somewhere for a while until our laundry was done. I also shared with him I was a little behind that morning because my wife had been up all night very sick with a high fever. The employee, on his own, asked Dee's wife (I assume also co-owner) if I could have a late check out. The employee returned to my site to tell me Dee's wife had said I could take as long as I needed to leave. I was very appreciative of their kindness since I was doing laundry and packing up camp while my wife rested. I told the employee I would be out before noon for sure, and he simply said, "take as long as you need." At 11:04 Dee pulled up to my site in his pickup and from inside his truck said, "Check out was at 11". I shared with Dee the conversation I had just had with the other employee about my late check out. When I said I was told I could take as long as I needed by the lady in the office, Dee cut me off and said, "They would have never told you that! What time did they give you as a late check out?" I responded and said again I was told I could stay as long as I needed, but that I would be gone by noon for sure. Dee's reply was, "They would have never told you that." Frustrated that Dee was calling me a liar, I simply told him to go ask for himself. Dee then drove off, but instead of going to the office to ask, he went back to cleaning cabins. At this point I did not know Dee's name or that he was the owner. As I thought about how Dee had just talked to me, I realized that he could not be a normal employee and talk to me that way, otherwise he would not have lasted long as an employee. So I walked over to the cabins Dee was cleaning and asked him if he was the owner. Dee said, "yes." I then asked for his name and he said something like "Dee Lynn" in a muffled voice. I told Dee I didn't appreciate the way he talked to me, how he accused me of lying about what his wife said without talking to her, and how poorly I thought he acted especially as the owner to one of his customers. Most RV park owners are very kind and hospitable like the employee who wanted to help, but Dee is the worst camp host I've ever encountered in 17 years of traveling with my RV. I simply can't recommend supporting Thousand Lakes RV Park and Campground in Torrey, UT with an owner like Dee Lynn. I would encourage everyone to support Wonderland RV Park (very nice and clean) or Sand Creek RV Park. Chris Connors read more

We had a great time staying here in a cabin on our visit to Capital Reef National Park. It met our needs perfectly. We loved having a bathroom and shower in the cabin and a fire pit out our back door. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We loved the general store, it has so many unique items that we didn't see in other places. We took full advantage of the morning muffins each day too. They had about 5 or 6 different flavors to choose from and you have to put in your order by 7:30p the night before to have them ready by 8am. They were $0.75 each or Buy 6, get 1 free. They also had coffee and tea available in the mornings. We were there too early in the season for the pool or grill to be open, but we still enjoyed our stay very much. We did use the laundry and it cost $2/wash and $2/dry. read more

Unfortunately Sand Creek RV Park spaces were too small and Sand Creek RV Park was in a state of disrepair. Luckily Thousand Lakes RV Park had two spots available. I came here in 2015 and stayed in the super deluxe cabin with the loft. It was super clean and everything was perfect. I'm sad to say it wasn't the same when we came back five years later. It's not super dirty, but we came here to get away from COVID and the stained bed sheets, dirty refrigerators and chair cushions were disappointing. I suppose we've become somewhat of clean freaks ever since the pandemic, but I'm just sad that things aren't cleaned properly. When you walk into a hotel or cabin, you're supposed to feel like someone definitely came through and cleaned. I sadly did not feel like that. Usually I don't care if there's a little dust or the place isn't perfect, but COVID has me on edge. I give this place three stars because I love Torrey and I love Thousand Lakes RV Park in general, but the cleaning needs to be stepped up. The nice thing about the super deluxe is the loft and the fact that they provide you with silverware and dish soap to wash with. The hot water works exceptionally well and I love the gift shop! It's probably my favorite part, aside from the views of magnificent red rocks. My favorite time to come is during the fall or close to winter, but it still cools down in the evening during the summer. Torrey itself is a great little town full of amazing activities and adorable shops to visit if it weren't for the pandemic. I would've taken photos if we hadn't cleaned right away. read more

Stayed here after spending the day in Capital Reef. Address on google maps was incorrect but follow the road signs and you'll get to the right place. Very clean campground with lots of amenities. Showers were clean. They have a laundry facility, dishwashing sink and pool. Their gift shop sells coffee in the morning for $1.00. The campsite we stayed at did not a lot of privacy between sites but they had a fire ring and picnic table, as well as beautiful views. I would recommend this if you are staying in Torrey! read more

A great location with stunning views behind the property. An amazing value at only $35 for a great little basic cabin that included access to the pool, showers, and had it's own little fire ring out front. My friends and I rented three of these one night on our motorcycle tour of southern Utah and it was one of my favorite nights, and best rests of the trip. Dinner was delicious and worth the price. My friends and I shared our meals and the steaks, buffalo, and pork ribs were all wonderful, and they nailed medium rare perfectly. I would make a point of going back here if I was ever anywhere in the area. The staff was very friendly as well. read more

We loved this location! We rented a cabin with two beds. We walked in and it immediately smelled clean and pleasant, such a relief after a couple days of camping. The woman at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. They bake/ buy muffins for anyone who wants them the next morning, you just have to give them a heads up. We took a dip in their pool too which was nice on a hot day. The bathrooms were tiny, only two toilets and two showers, but they were clean. They also had a beautiful gift shop and were located close to a general store. Not much in way of food in the area. We cooked ourselves, but I seriously have no idea where you'd eat otherwise. For our first night out of Vegas in our campervan rental, we booked a stay here. We arrived after 10 pm but they gave us clear instructions on where to park and were a pleasure to work with. A very good camping experience here. We stayed here 5 nights and the experience was great. There are about 10 tent sites here. Although the sites are neighboring to each other, we didn't feel it's disturbing, actually we had chances to meet and talk with our neighbors which was really good. The WIFi was good. It's fair to say we probably wouldn't have found this campground had we relied on Yelp ! The map location is inaccurate, the site is in fact about a mile west from Torrey and therefore alot closer to Capitol Reef NP, the main local attraction. This medium-sized, well-tended campground offers superb views of the nearby mountain range and was a welcome relief from the crowded sites near the more popular parks (Zion, Bryce, Monument Valley). Delicious home-made muffins and brown bread available from the camp office. read more

Were planning to tent camp here after finding Fruita campground full, but saw the awkward area for the tents right in front so everyone who drives up can flash their lights at. We decided to rent a cabin, and upgraded to the delux cabin since it had electricity and running water for $65 before tax. Not bad, but once we got inside found basically 3 futon mattress with sheets/blankets we were afraid to sleep on. Lol. Luckily had and extra sheet to throw over. read more
