I hadn't had much luck with anemones and people kept telling me that they weren't healthy when I got them (from our LFS.) That must have been it! This rainbow bubble tip anemone is incredible! BUYER BEWARE!!!!! I purchased a baby rex rat 10 days ago…read morefrom this establishment and he is already DEAD. As soon as I walked in the doors of this place, I noticed that a lot of the animals looked sickly. Birds that were extremely stressed and had plucked their feathers out, animals that were overcrowded in small cages, etc. but I was determined to find my forever pet here, being that they had a good selection. I didn't see a rat that I wanted so an employee brought a tiny rat from the back of the store (he wasn't on display like the other rats) and I instantly fell in love with him. He was a mostly hairless Rex rat and he was sweet. We brought him home and set him up in an immaculate, large cage and he was doing okay. However, I noticed that in the following days, he was having breathing issues, was rubbing his nose and face constantly, etc. so I did some research and it seemed that he may have a respiratory infection. I made a vet appointment, but before I could get him there, I just found him dead in his cage. I AM WRITING THIS SO I CAN SAVE SOMEONE FROM BEING DEVASTATED AND HEARTBROKEN LIKE ME. THEY DONT HAVE A WARRANTY ON THESE SMALL ANIMALS FOR A REASON. PLEASE DO NOT BUY PETS FROM HERE!!!!!!!

For a new hobbyist on a budget, it is great to see affordable used items available. There was a large selection of products and equipment. Also many fish and corals to select from. If you have kids take them here to see the shark. Anyway, I am from out of town and only looked around to see what was available. I am glad to see an active shop like this.

Some tanks definitely seem diseased and not cleared of deceased fish . I've seen fish act a bit erratic and ill. But their products have a wide variety and when the tanks seem okay, they have a really nice stock of fish and always seem to have what I need. Salt water tanks seem pretty great, plants have always been clean and safe of traveling snails. I still come here quite a lot. I enjoy it!

Finally did a water test strip on brand new water that I purchased from the fish room that day and noticed that the pH was fine but the alkalinity is very very low. Water was also on the hard side. And chlorine was questionable. And yes, the water strips that I purchased and were new and purchased from a reputable company. Is the Fish Room testing their own water system before selling to customers??????
